Who else gets goosebumps when you hear that 80's keyboard at 2:22? My whole Life.
I do. You also get the same experience when Bastian finds the book in The Neverending Story. Very similar 80s keyboard.

This scene is a masterful piece of storytelling. The start of this journey to search for the treasure is probably my favorite part of the movie ever since I saw it in the theater in 1985. This is where the movie is at its purest. Every kid can relate to having these dreams of finding a treasure or solving a mystery.
I remember that excitement, reading history books with all those pictures of the rich stuff. Dabloons, emeralds, rubies...like candy i wanted it all
I’ve gotta say, with 85 it’s weird because you had Back To The Future too which is just LEGENDARY. Still adore this one though, I grew up watching both in the 2000s
You're absolutely right.
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb lost my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
@Ibrahim Bo instablaster :)
Rest In Peace, Richard Donner! Thank you for giving me an amazing childhood!
I'm trying to write out slices of life to make a book and movie. Mine have music with them.
1980s kid here. This was a great movie. Have seen it a thousand times & it just never gets old. Brings back the happiest memories from the 1980s. Corey Feldman was brilliant in this movie.
As are the others. Plus, it's being rereleased.
@@dalmienpichardo1099 What?
and to think that the guy who plays brandon later became thanos in endgame is something that baffles me
Really miss Dem Times🤔😔
The heart of an 80s movie, the start of an adventure is in your own home.
This is such a special movie.
I can't tell you how special it is in my memory.
The soundtrack to this film, the mystery of this place, the mystique of their adventures (even though its fictional).
Hellllsz YEAHHHHHH 🏀
I have seen this movie so many times I’ve lost count. It always takes me back to when I was growing up. I always feel like a kid again every time I watch it. My favorite scenes will always be: Chunk’s “Truffle shuffle”, the painting scene with “Mouth”, and “You boys like tongue?”
Lol awesome 🤩
I wanna veal-a SCALLOPINI...an' a bottle of fettucine...1851-a!!
I can’t believe Brand went on to erase half of all life from existence 33 years later
@abc.animal514 He and Mouth also mutated as turtles too.
@@dannythomas417 I'm guessing Corey Feldman is ralph?
@@texaslotteryfanatic7782 Sean was Raphael, Corey was his mutated pet Spike.

3:47 mann I never stop getting chills from listening to this story and soundtrack a perfect combination 👍🏾😎
Sam Gamgee, Short Round, Donatello, and Thanos leaning over a 300 year old treasure map.
The Metaverse has arrived.
You mean O.B
This got me hooked to exploring any and every attic, basement and storage space I ever find/move into. One amazing piece of childhood.
I love how he grabs the inhaler when he gets scared
I don't like how bad of a punk kid I was growing up. Hopefully I'm not that kid anymore. I still want to be a rock star.
I saw this movie for the very first time in 2018, at the age of 29. I was blown away. Amazing movie
2:50 to 2:55 Mikey was counting down from 5 to 1 because he must of knew Chunk was going to drop the portrait with a map in it😂
Man really said "I need this open, how do I get it open without getting in troubl- ah yes Chunk" I love this scene sm
Smart move
Obviously not the first time Chuck's dropped something.
@@martykeaton182 Well, earlier in the living room, Chunk also dropped that ceramic statue onto the floor.
@@afriendofbean I meant due to the countdown.
This movie is a treasure in and of itself.
exactly
the new generation wont understand how cool it was to go see these movies back then. there were like 15 movies a year and each was an event. i remember going to the movie theater to watch this and the whole place was made up like a pirates cave. it was so cool.
Legends never die.
These kids are now grandparents. That's depressing.
One of them has an oscar
@@adrianwong3104 Mikey and Brand were nominated too. 😋
3:20 Thanos getting some practice in. 😁
Pretty awesome knowing this was kinda based on a true story after they discovered the wreckage of a Spanish Galleon off the Oregon coast
I know this is weird but Ive never seen the Goonies. I don't understand how it was never in our collection of movies growing up. Im on a Ke Huy Quan kick and now want to watch it! It looks like it would of been a favourite of mine no doubt!
I missed Commando in the '80s and was kicking myself when I watched it recently. I would've watched that 100 times back then.
I still remember my friends in elementary school constantly saying “Short Round is in that movie”. I gotta rewatch it as I haven’t seen it since Elementary School and for Ke Huy Quan’s Oscar win.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the Spanish who ensured that their warning written in Spanish on the map would actually rhyme in English? lol
The warning was directed towards the British. Had to show them they meant business.
Proud 80s baby I've watched this movie a million times and I'll watch it a million more
You will never have a cast of kids who are this natural at acting ever again.
This will always be my favorite movie in all time
2:23 Whenever I first hear that music I get chills
Me too my brother 🇬🇷☮️✊🏻🖤
I third this comment.
Thanos never got over the bike incident...
Cable could of went back in time to change that lol

True
I grew up with this movie, an all time favorite and knowing it was filmed in my state made it even better, even went to Astoria once!
The perfect movie exists
This & ET the extra terrestrial are my 2 fav movies of all time
“This is it.”
“What?”
“If I take one more step, I'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been.”
“Come on, Sam”
Now he’s an Oscar winner !
In the sequel his kid will be named Oscar.
I wasn’t alive in the 80s but when my mom showed me this i became obsessed with this movie
I still love it to this day
2023
I remember this movie. It was pure magic back then.
This is 80's Gold treasure of movies
This movie was so ICONIC in the 90s
Especially the two thousands, which is when my sister and I watched it. Even though I was born in ninety eight.
Such a brilliant film. Controlling these kids would be so hard
So many memories with this movie from my childhood love it.
"Chunk..."
"I didn't touch it!"
"I know you didn't touch it, get over here!"

1:30 & 1:31, Alright! Gotcha! Now get out from behind there! You're ruining the painting!
@@andrewbeaudoin7363 You’re ruining my joke!
When I see this show on Netflix I want to watch it over and over and over
I remember one time i actually had a dream about this movie and i was one of the characters.
i have watched it so many times that i memorised all the scripts that when i dreamed about it, it felt so real.
This movie will always remain somewhere special in my heart
I'm a definitely a Goonie.
The music definitely has a very creepy feel and it brings so much too this scene. I forgot to leave my time stamp.. it's Dec 29, 2022
Oh yeah same here, I am a Goonie and i am PROUD OF IT!
Truth be told, that's a pretty sweet attic.
This is brilliant creating a back story that is laced with legend & mythology of the pirate. It gets impressionable minds hooked. Great fantasy.
Kinda just got chills
If you asked me which one these kids would be an Oscar front runner 37 years later, I probably would have still said Data.
I would have thought Josh Brolin. But so, so happy for Ke Huy Quan
This is definitely one of my favorite 80s movies! I grew up with these kids!
He said Myy hayyfever Actin UPP🤔😆🤣
That group of friends. Chunk is the one who eats a lot, data is the one who makes gadgets but they only work for a small moment, mikey is the dreamer and adventurer, and mouth is the rediculously funny one who does the weirdest things.
Absolutely nailed the description.
In this scene, there are three Oscar nominees, and one winner. Amazing
My favourite movie of all times
You’re ruining the painting!
You’re ruining my joke!!
1:32 & 1:33
2:10 Chunk touched the laser ball.
That's a plasma globe 🤣
Oh.
I always thought they called them eye of the storm. Actually had a mini desktop 1 once. I accidentally broke the glass/plastic cover once because I forget what exactly I was doing trying to figure out a bunch of computer wires hooked up, 1 of them I pulled once whipped around and shattered it, just severing its power as opposed to my figuring electricity would fly. Thank goshness for that!
Who knew a Frog brother, Thanos and a Hobbit would have joined forces.😅
I am still so surprised that Michael is Samwise (Sean Astin) and i never recognized him in 18 years
I love how unpolished all of the dialog and timing is!
"hey look it says 1632 is that a year or something"
"no..it's your top score on pole position"...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Was also my SAT score minus 2
What does that mean?
@@zil1832 Mouth was talking about the Pole Position arcade game. The grand daddy of modern racing games. Was real popular back in the day. Getting a score of 1632 is absolutely pathetic. Like, not even trying. . . 😆
@@BlueFox284 wow. Thanks for the info. Is there any book that I can read about 1980s popular games and tge culture associated with it?
I'm so dead 😄😄😄😄
I always laugh at how Chunk is the one who dropped the frame containing the map, but he says "Hey, Mike found a map!" as if Mikey dropped it.
3:20 Young Thanos honing his snapping abilities
absolutely no dislikes bc thats how great this film actually is
What a great movie 🎥
I’ll never forget, my aunt used to take us to the movies at least once a month. We’d get dressed and spend the day with her. We had to look in the paper, to choose a pg movie. We knew we wanted to see this one. She chuckled and ground the best time to go see it. ❤❤
Best movie of my childhood a real adventure watched it on vhs
Retrospective 😆
As a kid we all start out as goonies. I've outgrown that attitude. I'm a man now. I want to be a rock star.
I like that the somewhat mature Data and the older Brand look at something together and are friendly with each other. Thank you, that is all.
That line is hilarious
1:20
Looks like Harrison Ford in the pirate book at 1:47.
@garrettaldenashley That would be an excellent coincidence because the kid who played as Data here played as Short Round from "Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom" with Harrison Ford.
I will never, ever tire of this movie. I first watched it in the theatre when it was released and have watched it countless times since. Just today I've watched it twice.
I have been to the house. It was recently sold. The new owners are recreating the image of the goonies.
The house looks so fun. Did you see the attic?
Goonies and back to the future took place on the same day Saturday Oct 26th 1985, but back to the future was a Universal production and both movies came out a month apart in 1985.
One of the best films ever should make a second movie
they cant do it now, they shouldve done it back then

One of all time favorite movies of my childhood
Lol this is how kids used to be... nowadays kids want to be gangsta and they are disrespectful to their parents and listen to hip hop and rap. I miss the 80s and 90s.
This movie just turned 36.

1:27 Mouth is sticking his tongue out on the painting portrait. 😂👅
When Mouth said that stuff that we keep from the attic. I choose to take the pistol Brand found, and if there is a musket, I'd take that as well.
