I’ve always loved onions. Back in the 1950s ago when I was a child and we lived in the Pacific Northwest we used to go to British Columbia often. I remember a delicious onion and cheese dish but I never knew what it was called. I wonder if this will be similar. I’ll make it soon.

I've watched a few videos on how to make fried potatoes, some boil the potatoes first, others fry them in just butter and then add water. But you by far have the best way to fry them, it looks absolutely delicious and this is how my grandmother used to make them. and I too make mine this way.

never understand why people wash potatoes before peeling. just peel them and then wash the little bit of dirt that remains.

I honestly never understood peeling for everything. Unless I absolutely have to peel em, I just wash em good and de-eye em.

🌸 same my mom did it that way and I can see why
While potato is dry it’s easier to peel and then you wash it
I watched my aunt & cousins one day wash potatoes then tried peeling them
Not only did my aunt keep dropping them, but she cut herself
Then I watched my cousins try in vain to peel them. Plus the potatoes still had traces of mud developing on it.
I was horrified 😳 and didn’t eat anything she cooked
I invited them to my home. Then they watched my mom in few minutes peel potatoes and then washed it
You don’t have to guess which lady they took notes from 😂

🌸 there is an Indian dish, where we cook fried potatoes
These are smaller ones btw, and lots of them
It’s called fry alue (fried potato)
Sliced potatoes are kept in salted water, but temp doesn’t matter
Just as long as there is bit of salt in it

Oh my Goodness!! These were amazing! I have always had issues trying to get my fried potatoes just right, but these turned out perfect! I didn't have the 'complete seasoning', so I used Accent in place of that seasoning, but I had all the other ingredients. Thank you so much for sharing your fried potato recipe.

Yummee! I'll try your method of putting the onions in once the taters are mostly cooked. I always (used to!) Put them in the pan before the taters.
    Thank-you!

Can someone please explain to me what "total seasoning" is?

    • @lorrainemadison8569
      @lorrainemadison8569 Před rokem +5

"Total" seasoning usually is a mix of different spices. So like Lawry season salt, or Badia "complete" seasoning. Or Goya Adobo. Hope this helps

Because the dirt from the skin gets on the potato's and it turns the potatoes brown.
