Dear Gladys, thank you for sharing how you cleaned and set up your bedroom for Baby Champion. It looks really good and tidy. I wanted to suggest you learn about S.I.D.S. and baby resuscitation as well. In North America, Europe and some other countries, the advice for how to place baby to sleep safely is that the mattress in the crib or bassinet should have a tight, smooth fitted sheet with elastic around the edges to make it hold tightly to the mattress and not shift or slip around and possibly block baby's airway or breathing (God forbid). Also, baby should never use a blanket to sleep but should use a comfortable swaddle with a zipper or buttons to close it around baby securely and prevent it from blocking baby's nose or mouth. Another option to use is a sleeveless baby sleep sack if baby does not like to be swaddled. Finally, there should not be any bumper padding around the edges of the crib, and baby should never use a pillow or anything fluffy or cushioned around his or her head to sleep, again because of risk of suffocation. Baby should always and only be placed on his or her back to sleep unless someone is 100% continuously watching baby's breathing closely while baby is sleeping on their side to sleep. A pacifier to sleep also seems to reduce the risk of SIDS, especially in baby boys, but it is the parent's choice whether to use one or not. Basically the worry is that very young babies sometimes forget to breathe and sink too deeply into sleep if they are made too warm and comfortable, and their instinct to take a breath does not kick in. So the pacifier, and keeping the room slightly cool, and not wrapping baby up too much, not letting baby sleep with a hat on etc, helps baby not fall too deeply asleep that they forget to breathe. I don't want to scare you but I just wanted you to be fully aware and prevent anything preventable. Knowledge is power! I wish you and Baby Champion the absolute best!

That's a nice bassinet for Champion. I had a white wicker style one years ago for my baby and put it next to my bed. Remember the baby will outgrow the bassinet and need a crib later.

The baby doesn’t need a pillow and can be a hazard before the baby is able to move his head from left to right and lifting. The room looks airy and bright! You should get a fitted sheet so when the baby moves around in the bed, it doesn’t get loose and then get into the baby’s face. It has to be a fitted sheet. Babe, just don’t sleep on pillows for a long time they have to lay flat. I’m really so very proud of you first time Mom in a different country all by yourself really no family friends congrats girl congrats.

Also, I have a son that would be turning 39 in the month of June.🤗 The reason why I'm telling you this is because I was just like you when I was pregnant with my first child and I'm sure other mothers were the same, girl we wanted everything to be perfect for our baby's arrival! You would get into your own routine of doing things and everything will fall in place Gladys. So excited for your newborn, Gladys. A baby bassinet usually sits up higher, than a play pen, and is more convenient for the mom to lift the newborn out, without having to bend over too far on a regular basis.
I would have put the brown commode or whatever you call it on the other side and put the bed in front of the window and the baby crib on the right side !
