@@jameshilton7894 Honestly I feel like this is an improvement, let me say when I went into this Death note musical I wasn’t expecting to be suddenly swept away in a beautiful romantic story by Rem in the middle of this dark story 😭😭 I was brought to tears honestly 😖😖 it’s amazing, and a perfect blend of happiness and a light of joy in the middle of all the darkness of the rest of the story. I wish this was the canon. I honestly might like this musical more than the actual canon of Death Note, it just takes everything from Death Note and then elevates by ten to this beautifully tragic, loving, philosophical, deep, and deeply beautiful story’s it’s utterly brilliant

Misa was one of the characters that always annoyed me to know end in the anime and movies. This musical portrayed her as the abused traumatized woman she was. Light used her , L literally crucified her, a stalker tried to kill her , a man killed her parents REM and Jealous were the only two that truly loved her and in the musical I think even Ryuk was like “ dude that’s effed up” and in the end saw L killed and ended light. The musical actually makes this point well that basically right after light basically kills rem ryuk kills him
The musical show REM so well that it give a REAL good motivation to Ryuk killing Light - more than just boredom. IMO Ryuk witnesses Light being the reason 2 shining Ami die.
I’m not denying what ur saying, but from what I’ve read, the girl version of REM (musical) cared for Misa as a “best friend” and the guy version of REM (anime) had a crush on Miss, but that’s just from what I’ve read. I don’t mean to attack you, saying what you think is wrong! :)

Jacob Sadolsky I find that there are a lot of theater songs like that, I think it has something to do with chord progression. Chords we're used to hearing in country music, along with similar instruments, remind us of it. Definitely hear that in L's opening lines.
This doesent sound bad. But i do prefere the korean version. I am not really a fan of female voices, but OMG how this song captured my heart when i watched the korean musical back in 2015. Have not been able to forget it, even though i dont speak korean and hardly understood any words :P It still went straight to my heart. I am lisening to all the engish version now, and i do really hope this overal great english versions get put together in a live musical performance... It would be so awsome.

This literally fits in with Rem being Misa's mother figure because her family was murdered and Rem was the only one left to protect her and loved her. Light on the other hand did'nt even care about Misa. He manipulated her and played with her feelings.
