Here's one thing we do know! The ANC cannot govern competently anymore... Sorry, but I'm all for the smaller parties involved in the GNU. The ANC arrogantly thinks they can create this coalition and then just continue to govern as they always have and that is what is stalling negotiations.
No matter what happens and no matter who is wrong or right here, things can never continue as they have been - growing poverty, unemployment, shrinking economy, crime that is allowed to carry on as if it is legal, etc. I think at the end, the ANC must just form minority government and correct their wrongs. Yes it will be difficult because they will need buy from all the parties for whatever they want to do but going minority may enable them to emerge victorius at the end of the day.
We must get rid of the party system. None of them represent us, only themselves. So we have to take our country back from them. Stop putting them on a pedestal. They must go.

It is quite ridiculous that all parties are politicking at this stage in the game. The country needs strong leadership, which I thought was the purpose of the GNU. It never ceases to amaze me how egoistic our politicians can be... I do have a question though, doesn't proportional representation in the executive based on parliamentary seats make sense...? Good analysis sir,and congratulations. Fact is SA is now coming out of all the deceptions of 30yrs. There has never been things like rainbow nation,National anthem etc. SA has since been about blacks and whites since 1948. Scientifically speaking, like charges cannot attract each other. Its practically impossible. What we all need to do as citizens to assists politicians is to humble ourselves,be realistic, live this NATO/BRICS alliances and be pragmatic in our approach for the good of ourselves and the generations to come. Thus, start thinking as a human race forget about this petty politicking issues about politicians, political parties manifestos, race, rand, power struggles etc. My ID,yours and all of us have only our photos; not Ramaphosa or Steyhuisen. On my side whether this GNU nonsense get done now or next year it's meaningless as it is already about power struggles, black and white by politicians political shenanigans. Why can't they ask us, as citizens to put a national petition as votes are being rigged?
This is the best anyone can attempt at being objective analyzing SA politics especially this elections or government formation issue. Thanks for the content
I feel like a lot of the debates we saw before the elections, especially the SABC debates, showed us that our politicians are just overgrown children. Now we put them in parliament together and expect them to make adult decisions. It's never going to work.
Where you do have complex coalition talks, and they are always complex in other countries like in Europe, there is months before the coalition agreement is concluded. We have had two weeks and we haven’t yet concluded it, so let’s see, but you have got to work with the situation you are in and you can’t complain,” he said.

I think government employment should be mandatory instead of something like military service, teach young people how to run a country properly and thus be good citizens.
Honestly i take this as a good thing. The amount of people I've seen actively divest themselves from politics and the benefits we get from it is impressive. We never should have relied on anyone outside of the competent people we know in our own lives for our success. We needed to understand that working hard and working smart for ourselves or for companies that we own a significant share of is the only way to truly be free. You need to earn money by being so skilled you can replicate financial success in a more competitive market. We've had the problem of white own subcontractors extracting south africas tax resources through government contractors when the truth is most of these people are so untalented that the CANNOT build success in the private sector. So be independent and keep working until you become better than your competition, if you care more and act like it. You will earn more and be worth more
yah and what amazes me is while they are fighting there is no loadshadding but once all this is resolved load shedding will start again, what a country. 😒
I love South Africa so much, but we are not a serious country. All we, as South Africans, can really do at this point is laugh to stop ourselves from crying. Obviously "vote harder, stupid" made no real difference.
It's only been 3 weeks though. And it's not like everything governmental has come to a standstill. It's politics and these are two very different agendas clashing
We had an long awaited election in now we have no government, what a lot of crap, the old anc was completely useless, mabe we should get rid of all the politicians.
Got to love democracy in action when there is no longer a singular monopoly over power. Belgium went through more than a year trying to form a coalition government. Still teething in SA. Ofcourse politicians will be politicians and claim to represent their constituents interests rather than their own. However when it comes to some in the opposition in SA, even some with in the ANC. I think we need to still give them time and a chance to work out a deal. And let us not be surprised when politicians go pull sketch politking at us.
I think the issue should have a look at what happens in other countries with proportional election system and coalitions. By international standard SA has moved at exceptional speed and maturity especially given that it's a historical first in SA. Three weeks is the speed of light to form a coalition, it normally takes months. And you would much rather have them take their time then make a rushed deal that collapses in 2 months. Grand standing in the media aside, for once we should be very glad at the maturity shown on both sides' leadership.
Unfortunately it was a red herring. My friend got all excited at this GNU. I knew the 14% to MK told us what we trying to ignore. If you combine ANC votes with MK that's 54% (never mind EFF) of the country that are inherently racist, want only policies that benefit one race and have been brought up with institutional racism. They so racist they don't allow you to even speak about it. That is the reality of South Africa. I can get along with anyone in person but in their heart they don't want me to succeed. What is unifying about that?
South Africa cannot be non-racial as long as most non-white people live like second class citizens and white people still benefit from Apartheid. These racial structures and inequalities must first be fixed before we can live in a truly non-racial society
That must benefit one race? So it's ok when 90% of the natuons economy is sitting in White hands?? You guys are not serious, we don't want war but at this rate...
For the next 4 years everything will be stagnant. We need this, we need all the trash to rise up to the top so it can be discarded off for future generations. I hope in the next election the old guard has expired and we have new blood
You state the ANC has twice as many votes as the DA but you also confused by the DA asking for 10 out of 30 ministries. Should the DA then ask for 15 positions then ? You are very confusing.
The MPs should not be paid nor the parties via salaries to Gov till a Gov is formed. Then I dont mind if they take years.. because it would not happen. If I had it my way after 1 month the parties should be paying salaries that they should be earning as a fine besides not getting paid too. Trust me it would be resolved before the salary run fails..
All over Africa there is no white political partie but here in SA we have a remnants of these guys still clinging to the idea of running SA , these guys have no shame at all .

I voted for the DA, but both the ANC and the DA are showing that they're Not in it for the people, but in it for themselves!
We are tired of suffering and seeing suffering seeing jobless people they have all lives it hurts to see people suffer because of failed government
Yadi yadi ya, we never stopped suffering , difference this time is we suffer together 😂
@@gogga26 I pray God help you with a opportunity it should not be like this
These grown folks are so exhausting 🤦🏾♀️
Thank you Dan Corder we appreciate you and your risk of telling the truth
Let us vote round 2 , otherwise 5 years is too far with this madness
Can we agree Zille is the weak link. If she didn't embarrass the ANC publicly we would probably have a government right now.
She's a power-hungry, racist puppet master.
I think DA shouls stop protecting a corruption weak ANC leader and walk away, let ANC try have their minority government
DA are gatekeepers to check where money go
Understand that if 1) the ANC works with MK or
2) if they work with EFF and other smaller parties they'll have a majority.
Bare in mind that's what EFF and MK are counting on so they can come in and "save the ANC", the DA will have to concede some of these demands.
The constitution is clear, hiring of deputy president; ministers, deputy ministers ect is Presidents perogative.
Kodwa, Hlophe and Mkwebane in parliament. The 3 stooges
Don't forget Ramadollar and Renaldo Gouws in that mix😂😂😂
Politicians don't have to face the consequences of their actions - and until we force the laws to be changed to ensure politicians are kept accountable, we will never see the political class put the interests of the country before themselves.
The Rant with Dan Corder? 😂
The best thing that's happened in a long time, Dan Corder going full time journalist.

EXCELLENT VIDEO, loved your take on it all, and agree 100% with your views 👍
I told you guys to hide your grandparents IDs😂
The reason we dont have a GNU yet is that the ANC wants to keep every position that can make a difference under them. This of course means there will be no difference, we will have the same sh!t we have had for 30 years or worse as the ANC deteriorates into a pure mafia organisation. The DA HAS to fight for meaningful positions, if they dont they would be wrong. We have to hope they get some positions that can make a difference or we will carry on getting poorer and suffering more. The ANC has sucked all of the joy from everyones lives for 30 years, now they want to continue while pretending to be committed to change. They will never change.
This Guy is clueless; he has no idea how negotiations work. Who in their right mind expected an agreement in a few weeks.
Thanks for this because , I feel like there has been allot of backtracking on the DAs part.
The ANC don't want to let the Minister of Industries go to the DA because the current minister doesn't want to go
Dan, I hear you, but, what would you have the DA and IFP do? Should they stand back and let EFF and MK work with the ANC? Yes, the DA allowed Cyril to become president based on that original agreement. Our politicians simply aren't mature enough yet.
Agree with you on that last bit. This lot must get with the programme.
100%, very well said. At least someone is willing to call out these politicians and their pathetic overblown ego's.
If this is the start of the GNU can you imagine how the business of actually running the country with be.😮😢
I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!
Sorry I get passionate. Appreciate your insight boet.
Well put across, let’s hope the right people hear it. And do something honourable for the country.
Thus, start thinking as a human race forget about this petty politicking issues about politicians, political parties manifestos,
race,rand,power struggles etc.
My ID,yours and all of us have only our photos; not Ramaphosa or Steyhuisen.
On my side whether this GNU nonsense get done now or next year it's meaningless as it is already about power struggles,
black and white by politicians political shenanigans.
Why can't they ask us, as citizens to put a national petition as votes are being rigged?
We are screwed. Remember, what ever way you turn, your Tuchus is always behind you
Guess it's up to our local councillors to save us on a community level .
I told some people ANC won't solve anything, They no clue on how to solve issues
Growing pains
This is the best anyone can attempt at being objective analyzing SA politics especially this elections or government formation issue. Thanks for the content
I feel like a lot of the debates we saw before the elections, especially the SABC debates, showed us that our politicians are just overgrown children. Now we put them in parliament together and expect them to make adult decisions. It's never going to work.
They operate like thugs!
Where you do have complex coalition talks, and they are always complex in other countries like in Europe, there is months before the coalition agreement is concluded. We have had two weeks and we haven’t yet concluded it, so let’s see, but you have got to work with the situation you are in and you can’t complain,” he said.
Your insights are greatly appreciated.
We need to see who governs and influences them because we are getting caught up in the puppet show. what does that agreements look like.
So well said, thank you.
The DA made his biggest mistake to get in the Conoe with the racist ANC
As DA is racist itself
This goes to show that politics has always been about personal interest before the people it's supposed to serve. It is what it is.
Wow. Well done for calling a teapot a teapot. The teapot mistakenly assumed it's a magical lamp
The politics of selfishness... immaturity and parties being parties putting their interests first and not the citizens
Rot in SA politics reflects the rot in SA
Tax is way to hight in South Africa. The government doesnt deserve this much of our money
Hi there its Jessica from Kenya 🇰🇪. I have just come across your channel and I held my breath for the duration of of today's show. I like that you are a straight shooter. Keep it up and I promise I'll be a regular
DA ALSO IMPOSSIBLE with their demands. DA DID NOTHING FOR COLOUREDS BLACKS here in Cape Town. Major inequalities here in Cape Town.
Name and shame the media companies please.
You will earn more and be worth more
Why aren't this negotiations streamed live
yah and what amazes me is while they are fighting there is no loadshadding but once all this is resolved load shedding will start again, what a country. 😒
I love South Africa so much, but we are not a serious country. All we, as South Africans, can really do at this point is laugh to stop ourselves from crying.
Obviously "vote harder, stupid" made no real difference.
I think the best thing is to let the people vote for these positions, put there CV's out and track records and we decide.
Groundhog Day had Bill Murray, not Tom Hanks.
It's only been 3 weeks though. And it's not like everything governmental has come to a standstill. It's politics and these are two very different agendas clashing
Good analysis brother unbiased.🇳🇦
South Africa 🇿🇦 can do better with good government and a honest experience President to the nation and serve the people of South Africa 🇿🇦
We had an long awaited election in now we have no government, what a lot of crap, the old anc was completely useless, mabe we should get rid of all the politicians.
Now more greed will come out
Got to love democracy in action when there is no longer a singular monopoly over power.
Relax….it takes time. It’s not only here.
It is not about policy. It is about the ability to govern!
institutional racism? before or after 1994?
South Africa cannot be non-racial as long as most non-white people live like second class citizens and white people still benefit from Apartheid. These racial structures and inequalities must first be fixed before we can live in a truly non-racial society
That must benefit one race? So it's ok when 90% of the natuons economy is sitting in White hands?? You guys are not serious, we don't want war but at this rate...
@@herdarkesttdesireI'm asking myself the same thing.
We have a member of Parliament that is out on bail... Hmmm!!
Ramadither will never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
