  • Our little short-wheelbase TWS CTS VTR Vitara JLX has had a bit of a makeover since its original video.
The metal rims that builder Darren Nixon had put on looked great and very scale, but the Austar tyres were not that good. I looked at better-quality tyres to fit these rims, but then I got the original TWS tyres on some metal rims and they fit much better with the overlander theme.
We have also added a host of scale accessories on to the Vitara, which I think finish it off great. Still surprised how well this little thing copes with different terrain.

Loved your video, and your TWS CTS VTR. Sorry, it's a mouthful. Anyway, I purchased one myself, and let me tell you, I've been building rc cars and trucks for about 25 years and boy was this little bugger a difficult one! But I love it. I had to order the complete metal links because the panhard rod is the weakest link, and it bends out of place when it steers left or right. I believe the metal ones should take care of this issue. Greetings from Texas.

Ha, I believe so - I avoided all that drama by buying it ready-made from a friend who loves building RCs! I have then just tweaked it with new rims, and scale accessories.

You made some nice additions to the Vitara to improve the scale realism and performance. It is great to see something slightly different as this TWS product is not commonly seen. I hope manufacturers start to give us some new body styles because Defender, Hilux, Wrangler and Bronco bodies are getting a little bit too common now.

Cheers! Yes, that is part of what attracted me to the TWS - you don’t see short wheelbase much, and definitely not Vitara.
