    Everyone talks about how Teddy and Franklin were cousins, but neglect to know that Eleanor was the daughter of Teddy's brother, his brother was an alcoholic, Teddy practically raised her alongside his children. Teddy gave her away at her and Franklin's wedding

      FDR and Teddy weren’t closely related (and thus FDR and Elenor). They were fifth cousins. Keep in mind Zachary Taylor was James Madison’s second cousin but no one talks about their relation

    Teddy wasn't America's 26th President. He was America's 1st Dad.

    This guy was what we would call a live wire. His successor, Taft, on the other hand, was the complete opposite - quiet, approachable and with a reputation for randomly falling asleep!

    Most badass man to live. Keep in mind he was rock climbing when he heard that McKinley was shot, and during a campaign speech, he got shot as well. The bullet didn't injure him because his chest had so much muscle mass, and he finished the rest of his speech before seeking medical attention

    • @salmik_
      @salmik_ Před 7 lety +16

      Coolbean94vevo In fact, it wasn't his muscle mass that stopped the bullet it was a folded 50 page speech, his spectacles case and a thick Army overcoat. Nonetheless, this maddingly impressive he continued he speech no big deal with a dime size bullet wound in his chest

      And he carried the bullet in his chest the rest of his days! Talk about being a badass!

    Perhaps a little too aggressive with his power but I can't really think of anything bad he did with it so I don't really mind.

    Theodore Roosevelt was the first President elevated to office upon the incapacitation or death of a predecessor that won an election in his own right. Tyler Fillmore Johnson and Arthur all lost theirs.
