Please consider this suggestion. Don't use so much glue. Apply it then smooth it to a thinner coating. Clean up is easier too. Glue the wood to the wood not glue to glue. Try not to glue things in a hot environment, the glue will set quickly and you won't have time to make adjustments. Try a bottle of Titebond Extend glue as well.
Love the look of double tenons! Your sliding/locking dovetail joint broke my brain! So cool.

Oh here, too! Thank you! I try not to put too much glue now but I still tend to... Maybe I've watched too many cutting board videos, haha. I appreciate the info of Titebond Extend glue as here gets 100F outside in this summer season that breaks my brain. Too hot.

I just saw your thumbnail about box making. I was sold. I don't know if you're serious or playing dumb but I enjoyed this vid. Now watching the kumiko shelf project. Your sense of humor, video antics, excellent jigs and photography/editing promise more enjoyable vids to come. Just keep being you. Don't put yourself down so much though.

Thank you for the compliment and advice! Haha, I'm not trying to build my legacy here so I don't really mind if people think I'm dumb as long as they enjoy their time spent on my contents and also I can enjoy learning woodworking :)

Instead of just using water, try mixing it 50/50 with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle, and spritz the wood with it. That's an old woodcarver's trick I learned from watching Andy Rawls on CZcams. I've done just a little carving, myself, and it does seem to help. I haven't tried it for chisel work. Seems like it would work, though. If you haven't seen Andy Rawls's CZcams channel, you should check him out. He has a variety of videos, and his hand tool projects are always really good. Beautiful project, as usual, btw. One of these days I'll finish watching all your videos. I've enjoyed every one, so far.

Oh, yeah. I did a little more research into the alcohol/water mixture. Evidently, the alcohol helps to break the surface tension of the water, so it can soak in and penetrate the wood faster.

Here, too! Thank you for the information. I think I didn't have much experience to notice the difference tbh as this project was like a half an year after I started woodworking. Now, I use water a little bit when needed such as doing a hand plane on the end grain but I'll definitely try the alcohol/water mixture! Anyways, it's been a while and now you come back!

Interesting, I thought that using water on the wood before chiselling was supposed to raise the grain to make for a better finish, rather than making the chiselling itself easier.
That aside, the overall project looks really good.

Thank you! It seems like the fiber gets softer? I'm not sure but they say you can also use a little bit of water to plane the end grain and this one, I felt kind of difference.
