Summoning Shooting Quasar is mostly a meme strategy, you need to be very lucky and have a good starting hand to even start your combo. This is why I love Maxx “C”. It shifts the control of the game to the opposing player. Do you keep special summoning and set up your negate board but at the same time, give your opponent a hand advantage? Or do you stop and don’t. Plus it’s not like Maxx “C” is exclusive to a certain archetype, and player can use it. And if you say it’s too strong, put it in your deck.

The misplay on using Maxx "C" like that (or at all) is generally an issue players who are greedy for gaining resources are going to get punished for. For a lot of decks that tend to perform a lot of Special Summons to get their boards set up and if your opponent uses any of them, Maxx "C" can help get your hand ready. Conversely, there are some decks built around Special Summoning that you really don't want to use it against them unless you can gauge on what the deck's theme is. Synchrons will abuse you and can make a result like this. Trickstars will make everyone banish their hands before redrawing (or banish and no drawing if Droll and Lockbird combo with Trickstar Reincarnation gets used, lol.) Ritual based decks with resource regeneration such a Ritual Beasts can make you thin your deck out too much. There are others that can make a Maxx "C' pop go the wrong way. A good way to punish non-Exodia decks who pop Maxx "C" on you is if you can get the Field Spell 'Summon Breaker' to your hand, then before ending your turn and after clearing off any Monsters and as many of their backrow as possible after letting them mass draw, is to activate it, and hope that your backrow and monster effects prevents your opponent from getting rid of it. They have to play as many of their Spells and Monster Effects (those who can do so from the hand or GY), set at least five Spells/Traps and one Field Spell before Summoning anything or else if they summon a fourth monster, their turn ends and they have to send all but six cards in their hand to their GY, if they want to combo with monster summoning, they have to skip their Battle Phase. Almost a literal 'rule' or catch to using Maxx "C" is to first figure out what the opponent's Deck/Extra Deck theme is by watching their starting play and if it's ok to pop it against them if you can counter whatever they Special Summon to their field. Don't pop it on them if they go second unless you're sure that they can't KO you that turn or onwards once you drop it.
