    Fabulous! I have my daughter on the case to make me a grippy thing. I love the pick me up so it’s great to hear a tip on how to make it “dainty” (I’m generally about as dainty as a cart horse so I can never drill very straight with it). Keep the content coming, I’m loving it (as you can probably tell by all the comments 🤭)

    Great video! I'm embarrassed to say that I am 45 years old, no children, and have, love & use to make gobs of things with my rainbow loom. LMBO!😂 As you know, it's an older craft so I was so excited to be able to get it out again for my drill pen. Lol. I did it before starting my 1st DP. I don't know anyone's name, but there are some videos on here with all kinds of RL pen grips. Thanks again ☮❤🙂

    I love the prefilled pen for the wax stuff but what i really want is something like a mechanical pencil where we can put our drills into it and it they’ll stay all nice and need in there and keep one at the end until we press doen or press a button release it and then perfectly placed drill and less time as you don’t have to go back in forth from the tray to the canvas that sounds like heaven for this craft

    I'm new to this, I've only used round drills so far. But I just use the sixer one for everything 2 dots and above. And the single side for the singles. The trick is to load it with the flat wax not the one in the round tubs. You want the wax in one hard piece rather than softer kneaded if that makes sense. Load up six and push against a flat object - you want to form the dot hugging indents. Get rid of excess wax. Reload new dots then start dotting! Use the shake and drop so the dots all line up in long straight lines and just go 2 - 6 at a time. I like the wax to be cold. The harder the wax the better IMO.
    Don't press down the dots with a lot of pressure, use an empty 10 placer to wiggle the lines that are particularly noticeably twisty into shape. Don't do the rolling pin thing first, instead use a light piece of plastic backing (the clear not the paper sort) and on a flat surface run your finger tips over the plastic over the dots. Feeling for the ones that aren't quite right you can just pop them in or find the ones that are out of shape being too big or malformed or just wont stick and swap it for another. Do a ripple bend move with the finshed canvas to get any of the pesky hollows to pop off and then maybe the rolling pin. Doesn't take as long as it does to read about it!
    I can't wait to get my square dot pictures to try those. I recon they would need more patience. (Which I aint got!)

    Allison I watched your video to see if I would learn something new and I’m grateful to people who try to teach you something new. However I’ve tried this a while back and didn’t have any luck The little nibs that you’re taking all off of your pink sticks
    and putting into the other one I had no problem with my problem however is that all the ones I’ve taken off are solid not hollow all the way so how are or where are you getting the ones that will allow the goop to flow through them? Oh and I have tried all you have shown and agree with everything you’ve said about them. Thanks

    • @AllisonRosenisacraftygirl
      @AllisonRosenisacraftygirl  Před 5 lety

      Rachel King hey Rachel! They do look solid, but if you look closely you will see a tiny pin sized hole and believe it or not, that’s all you need! It will take a little bit of time for the hoop to work its way through at first, but it totally does!

    I order to keep the pencil grips on the drill pen in place I use double sided tape. I lift up the edge of the grip and then lay it back down. On the double sided drill pen I use two grips and put the double sided tape in the middle and put the two grips together glued down with double sided tape.

    To pick up drills from your tray you must turn your tray so that the channels run parallel not horizontal. Then with your tweezers pick up the drills parallel. Another thing if you tap the tray gently after you have shaken the drills they will slide to the end wall. To pick up more then one drill with tweezers just slide the amount forward and pick them up. I suggest no more then three at a time. I am enjoying your channel very much. THANK you very much for altering the pick me up tool.

    Good video. Something I don’t understand. The metal tubes aren’t hollow. How does the goop go through a non hollow tube? What am I missing? Thanks.

    • @AllisonRosenisacraftygirl
      @AllisonRosenisacraftygirl  Před 5 lety

      Hey! If you look really closely at the metal tubes - there is a pinhole sized opening and that's all you need for it to ooze through. Takes a minute or so to get going, but it works!

      Diamond painting is easy and relaxing. She's just showing what she likes to use for pens. The stuff that comes in the kit is plenty sufficient to complete a painting. But a lot of us who like to do this seriously love knowing what people like to modify and make to do this hobby. Just like any other hobby and craft people love to customize their items to their own liking.
