- Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay: Luke jumps into Assassin's Creed Valhalla as he takes Eivor into a rather mystical boss fight, and goes raiding about in boats. Oh, and throws a BUNCH of axes into people's faces and bodies. Ouch.
AC Valhalla is set to be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Stadia on 17th November 2020.

Luke explores some of upcoming AC Valhalla, and discovers that there are magical bosses, towns to raid, and AXES EVERYWHERE! 🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓
Does the game have an alternate control layout mapped to the face buttons instead of the bumpers/trigger buttons?
throws axes
Johnny: please roll for strength/dexterity
Assassin's creed just isn't assassin's creed anymore :( syndicate was the last real assassin's creed game I'd just play the witcher games if I wanted this wish ubisoft would sort their stuff out
Wait.. How did Luke get to play this and not Ellen? Was the copy of the game up a tall shelf?
...or even a medium-high shelf?
SAVAGE
or maybe since Ellen was given Ghost of tsushima aswell as the press kit bottle luke was given AC to make it fair only a theory
@@jrgenervik9977 Yeah maybe it's because Ellen's planning to play the game and wants to avoid spoilers?
@@marhawkman303 maybe but usely demo is mid game and nothing story related i belive
Luke: "in the fog of war, who can say who attacked who?"
Vikings: "what?"
Luke: "what?"
Luke showing his charitable side and gifting axes personally to each and every enemy. Fun times!
"Just being the goodies in a video game."
You know what would really be a good deed? Building an orphanage.
Especially building an orphanage to house all the orphans they just made from raiding and burning this village!
@@tallest4eva Technically they're only orphans if you kill BOTH parents. If you only kill the fathers and keep the mothers as servants then they're technically not orphans... technically.
Yeah, boss.
Luke when fighting the mythic viking boss: "that's not fair because I cant do that!"
Me in 90% of boss fights when they bust out a one hit kill move
"it'll be fun they said" my favorite phrase everytime I hear it
I am currently involved in a sordid and rocky but ultimately loving relationship with your screen name. It's fantastic.
11:04 "You didn't expect this, did you?" So....you're saying nobody expected the Viking acquisition?
Luke: "It's me, the best Viking in the world*, and I've come to fill my belly!"
* (Not actually the best viking in the world, he was just a tribute.)
*drinks vigorously* “I don’t feel anything, I’m hungry, I wanna eat that! A dog! Oh the dog won’t talk to me.” And then fifteen seconds later “Oh pigs! Sleepy pigs!” This was the best rambling I’ve ever been witness to lol.
"Now that's not fair, I can't do that." It me walking into every boss fight ever.
I can only assume Luke did this Let's Play because Ellen's was too much incoherent babbling and stroking cats
I was literally watching the Cordelia boss fight on the "Ten Weird Things You Can Do In AC Valhalla" when the notification for this popped up. I clicked and thought I was watching the same video for a sec. Talk about good timing!
6:45 "I'll be taking a more managerial position."
*Smash cut to Luke throwing twin axes into someone's skull*
The oven: *burns my dinner*

Wow, Cordelia ended up a LONG way from Sunnydale
Anyone else love how Luke keeps saying Eengle-und like he has no idea what it is?
As my ancestors were hero vikings I’m glad someone finally acknowledges that we were the good guys all along 🥰 If they didn’t want to be raided why did they even live in the village? 🤷♀️
Me Watching: eh, idk if i need...
Luke: AXES EVERYWHERE!!!
Me: i think i want this game now
Its difficult to be excited about this knowing all the abuse the devs suffered. I know ppl are more desperate than ever for escape from just everything, but i just cant separate the two anymore. It makes me sad knowing so many ppl suffered needlessly at that company.
Yeah, same. I was so excited for Legion, but now I can't in good conscience buy it.
I just wrote a response saying a similar thing. I'm not feeling receptive towards Ubisoft games at all right now and I really don't want to see the channels I love continue to cover them context free.
Ubisoft don't deserve the coverage.
Other companies do.
This is the third comment I see about abuse from Ubisoft and I'm so confused. What happened, if you don't mind me asking?
@@TiaMoshii Lots of abuse of employees at all levels across all studios. Several execs have resigned so far, not that that means much. You'll find details if you Google it. If you know Jim Sterling, he just released a video on it.
I’m looking forward to this title 100% for the bearded romance options. Gameplay is just a peripheral detail at this point.
Times are tough for those of us who don't enjoy Dark Souls style combat.
That was my first thought too.
@Captain Redbeard It is cheap in dark souls.
It's a cheap way to prolong 'gameplay'. At least cyberpunk has its own Identity
When Luke did the Loot song I heard “Loot Luke, Loot Luke, Loot Luke....”
Me watching the first 3 minutes of this game: Am I accidentally watching Let's Play Dark Souls, instead of Assassin's Creed Valhalla? 🤔
fuckin seriously... without the eagle dive nothing about this would make you think it's an AC game.
Stamina bars are just more gatekeeping hard pass
Right? Ellen got me to replay AC4 and I’d just finished 1-3 right before. Such a good formula that Ubisoft essentially crumpled up and threw away in favor of a Souls game?
Wouldn’t it have been much easier to just create a new IP? Is there anything from the original AC formula aside from “Desynchronized” appearing when you die?
@@Tyr_Magnus eagle dive, the hays, and the desynchronize parts are the only reminder for me that this is an AC game. The rest is just as gloomy and dark as Dark Souls
@@geert574 remember when, let's say Altair, Ezio, Connor, Haytham, and Edward can run, jump, and fight for all eternity without having to worry about their stamina?
Luke the Raid Manager. Love it
I’ve loved AC for years, but I’m done at this point.
I was done halfway through origins. It was kinda fun at first but then you realised it's just a boring empty open world that chose to go with the grindy path in odyssey. Typical
I was so stoked for this game, but honestly this just looks like another dark souls to me more than an assassins creed game. I'll wait to see a lets play or 2 before finally deciding but yeah it's not looking good.
Calliope Dance Party so true. I think I might play through assassins creed brother-hood. My favourite one tied with blackflag. The new AC games just ant assassins creed like. The day story is ruined and the whole edan apple and stuff is just left. The story in origins was just a typical revenge story that Anyone could have wrote.Just feels like Ubisoft just wants to realise these witches wanna be like games in every historic timeline.
I don't really like the turn the game has taken since origins. It's more hand to hand combat than assassinating and free running.
Syndicate had a mix of both but people were not kind to it or unity, which caused Ubisoft to rethink the entire gameplay of the series
guess I’m an outlier in this conversation. I HATED the old AC games. Odyssey was the first AC game I could actually get into. it is interesting though, to see the contrast between people who never liked AC, so like the newer games more, and people who have been fans since the beginning, so don’t like the shift in direction.
When it comes to the player being the "hero", I don't know who Luke is trying to convince more, us or himself 😂
I have to say, the Cordelia fight is giving me strong flashbacks to the Valravn boss fight from Hellblade
I find it hard to reconcile this magical version of England with the drizzly, drizzly, really drizzly grey nation I've been raised in. But hey, at least the Vikings leave us be these days.
What do you mean? The Vikings invaded London in both 2013 and 2017. They beat the Steelers the first time and the Browns the second time.
@@nickdejager8873 bruh
Drove through Thetford today... yeah looks about the same to me, with only about half the axes..
Oh to have been a fly on the wall when Luke and Ellen were debating who would get to record assassins creed gameplay
Center Parcs in Thetford Forest has changed a lot since the 10th century
They kept the climbing wall but added a lazy river, jobs a good'n 😄
I think this may of been the best gameplay demo I've seen of Valhalla so far because it's just literally me. Hilarious commentary! Also the way Eivor sits on perches is VERY cool and sexy of her!
People in 1984: im sure we'll have flying cars by 2020
Luke in 2020: says RAD ffs
I wish they go back to old routs with smaller map size but good stealth gameplay with enjoyable story and old parcore .
Yeah the stories in the original games just felt very genuine and lovingly crafted. All of the animations were unique in each cutscene and there was a coherent journey from scrub to master Assassin! It also felt grounded in reality too, at least compared to the newer games. No supernatural boss battles for me, please.
I guess Ellen is busy playing AC in Japan, AKA Ghost of Tsushima.
15:20 I never seen a corpse fall so graciously XD
My god Luke the way you say lootieloot is just too much adorableness
I feel like Luke needed to phone Ellen as his lifeline for this 😂
Remember when Assassin's Creed was about stealth and history?
2:32
How times have changed...
P.S. I wonder how Luke managed to get to play this and not Ellen...
Actually I read that this game will focus a lot more on Stealth than the last few games, and there's more stealth options available too.
@@ThomBaws yeah, this guy just didn't play it stealthily lol
That scene is actually based around a real story of an ancient king that I can’t remember, and it’s made clear that what the player is experiencing is a hallucination. Also, you can be stealthy, that’s just not how Luke plays games
How is a game about the Viking era not about history?
I think you’re remembering the old games a little wrong, there wasn’t much stealth in the old games at all.
It's been a golden age for voice actors who have or can do a Norse accent ever since Skyrim came out.
I miss the Ellen banter! We got "I took their tongues" when they played origins!😂
So good that Luke was there to save those valuables before the building unexpectedly and spontaneously combusted.
You just know that if this had been a livestream Luke would have bossed that Boss first time.
But if Luke had been live-streaming the Cordelia fight, she would've been dead in one shot!
I absolutely want Luke to narrate my life.
🎶 Everything is axes when you're part of a team 🎶
Are we sure Luke should be trusted to take a managerial position in a raid? Last time he had a team to manage a bunch of orphans got turned into paste!
Wow, so, it’s actually really jarring to have a let’s play with only one of the team that’s not a livestream.
Don't think of it as "stealing". Think of it as "founding the British Museum".
3:58 "Oh no! Health, health, health, health, health!"
4:01 "Oh no!" Death, death, death, death, death
Guy in the thumbnail looks like young Dog the Bounty Hunter
I wonder, do Jane/Mike/Andy play any AC games and do Ellen/Luke play any Hitman games or is everyone contractually obligated to only play the games featured on their channels?
Hahaha little tipsy Luke is the best at making videos so much fun to watch! 😄
loving Luke's commentary on this
I love it when I see this game pop up because where I live is a bandit camp in this game. LOL
10:54 "lads lads lads lads"
This was a great video, but I'd like to see Ellen play this so I can get the opinion of an AC nerd as to the quality.
I am quite impressed by your playthrough in this demo, Luke. The graphics could do with extra polish in places, but there is time for that before its final release. By extension, it's a good thing that you did not kill those mini Pumbaas/piggies! =-D XXX XXX
That's some fine.... liberating.
Beodericsworth is the original name for Bury St Edmunds - Edmund was killed by the vikings...
That boss fight gave me a lot of Hellblade vibes
*surrounded by slain bodies of foes*
Luke: Oh no! Somebody's hurt!
I was hoping to see some stealth then I realized Luke was playing and he's basically the Mike of Oxtra when it comes to stealth.
JRaptor posted a video of him doing a stealth run of a raid. Basically, if you don't play the horn right away, your team will stay in the long ship while you can clear out the target using stealth.
@@AbsolXGuardian cool I expected stealth was still a thing I was just foolish for thinking Luke would use it.
You are hereby Cordelially invited to fight Cordelia the Capra Demon.
Honest it looks cool, but nothing like an AC game... Really wish Ubisoft could just start a new IP instead of milking this one
Agreed. I just can’t look at AC1-4 and then this, somehow existing in the same universe? Even the entire aesthetic of the UI lost its beautiful futuristic simplicity.
They should return the prince of persia franchise
@@nickramos5614 that would be RAD
I think people need to get over it. The games changed because there’s only a limit to how many times you can do the same shit until it gets boring.
For once the plan 'just don't get hit' actually worked.
Axes everywhere? This makes Krieg very happy- BECAUSE I HAVE THE SHINIEST MEAT BICYCLE!
Loot! Loot! Loot! Loot!............... amazing commentary!
That's a nice rpg you have here! But if I pay money to play an assassins creed game, I want to play an assassin in a historical setting with a templar/assassin conflict.
Thats an easy fix. Only pay money for the games with templar/assassin conflicts!
I cannot wait for this to release. TIME FOR RAIDS BOYS, surely new merch lol.
I just watched this today and the first thing that came into my mind was.. Dark Assassin's Creed Souls of War... oh yeah Valhalla.
In the fog of war who can say who attacked who. The new assassins creed.
Luke is doing the let’s play as Ellen’s let’s play would be a series of inaudible ommmmmgggggg & other noises set to Valhalla footage.
the intro is the best :D
I do not like the fact that your heals are replenished by wasting time finding food items.
That has to be the most polite raid in the history of anything ever.
Well, I guess wiking raids are just like the Spnish Inquisition - totaly unexpected.
Nice game play. I really should try that throwing axe thing if and when I can play this game.
12:00 "Let's not bicker about who killed who"
I for one are super excited for valhalla. All the fanboys crying about basically have no other argument other than they cant go "haha assassin go parry stab parry stab pfffttttt"
Anyone notice how he stabbed her with the axes around 3:45 ? nice gameplay Ubisoft
I really don't want to be that guy but do you all remember that one time when Ubisoft was revealed to be a garbage company with a disgusting toxic corporate culture that over a number of years covered for rapists and abusers and then we all forgot about it because they threw some games around?
How kind of your party to help a village with its charcoal production. (Seems like fair remuneration for the silver that you selflessly recycled.
Damn you internet!!!! Because of you the inaccuracy of those exceedingly thick axes makes me nauseous.
It looks like you were editing around construction or airport noise, what happened here? It's the apocalypse Luke, we know there is no studio--just leave sirens or whatever in.
Next ac game is probably gonna be about gladiators knights soldiers and probably ninjas and samurais
Drink mead, kick back, relax, and then raid England! Also, train a cat army. All possible in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Preordered the Ultimate Edition, can't wait for it to release!
12:38 Gold raspberries, are they as delicious as Luke makes them sound? hmmm.....
Well I am a fan of axes and they seem to be everywhere so
Is it stereotyping to say that Luke sounds ALOT like Grian the minecraft super builder?
2:45 "Moana"?
sneaky reference to Luke's favourite Disney movie, I think.
I wish I could argue against my friends but this is looking a lot less like AC as it goes on :/
Still looks cool though!
I'm with ya on that one. I was burnt out on Odyssey's main game and had to drag myself through all the DLC. I was done after that. They need to take some pointers from Ghost of Tsushima.
Yeah, I think i can approach this game as an RPG this time, but i hope they ditch, or at least drastically improve the level system, it just made odyssey feel restrictive and overly monetized.
I just don’t care for AC anymore. Similar to my attitude with most EA games, and Star Wars movies, I just am indifferent now. They can do whatever they want. I just won’t buy it anymore. Only reason I watched this is because it’s Oxtra.
Kevin Moore they renowned the level system
@@Ceece20 Fallen order looked ok
Looking at this game after watching Ghost of Tsushima and it just looks dead and boring
yeaaa this shit looks so repetitive and has basic boss mechanics, compared to GoT this is shit
The era is different, lads. They were like this at this time, boring and very dull. Look at the story books.
I know that GOT looks incredible but it's influenced by the old Japanese movies. It's supposed to be lushious and incredible.
The dodging looks really good in this one.
Product of Abuse: The Video Game.
Yes we're definitely the heroes of this story 😂
This video has made me wonder how publishers are handling early press access to games atm. Normally there would be a press preview event set up but I assume that’s impossible with the current situation.
I'm beginning to think the Templars have a point.
If I was to pick up ac after missing the train I'd start with this one. I mean, vikings! Come on! 😍
Not gonna lie, I'm annoyed by the greater focus on boss fights. That's not what AC is to me. Didn't like it in Odyssey, and probably not gonna like them in Valhalla.
At least they're bringing back one-hit assassinations.
So far we've seen 1 boss fight, and it's optional
Boss fights existed since ac1. They were obligatory for story progression, and a lotnof them had lame mechanics. As far as i'm seeing, these seem like a major imptovement. But to each their own.
@@susaac9755 AC1 had one boss fight. Most AC games had no more than 3 or 4. Odyssey had them in double digits, optional or not.
Not disputing mechanical improvement. Definitely the case.
@@MSte21 well yes, you are right. I guess i was basing my comment on Black flag and 3, where there were some minibosses (altough i played it years ago, so it's kinda fuzzy).
Regardless, i hope that even though there would be a few of them in this one, they should be varied. If it's the same thing with most, then that's lame.
@@susaac9755 Well, my issue is more the gameplay being focused on boss fights than anything else. As in, more assassinations and stealth sections and less outright combat. But we'll see.
First impression, the game needs a raid mechanic and formations like shield walls. Instead of enemy's randomly scattered itd be better to advance upon other enemy defenses before it becomes a full scale raid. I wanted to see camp building and managing, quests to sabotage towns before the big raid. Cutting off supply line quests and assassinating generals itd still be AC. Unfortunately it looks like the same formula only now you get power moves. And somehow bosses have magic which you probably can't tap into. Are they going for a fantasy rpg or an accurate representation? Either way it's going to be overshadowed by Cyberpunk 2077 sadly.
