The entire band just gives such an amazing groove that you just want to listen to over and over again
Man, I miss Richard Tee (keys). No one grooves like him.
Yet another perfect Cornell Dupree solo.......we were lucky to have so many.
No one grooves like Gadd. All great musicians and defines FUNKY.
I love the way the horn man bottoms out right after the five minute mark.
it's shit like this that makes life worth living.
ronnie cuber, the boss.
Dudes just saw Gadd and Cuber 2 weeks ago. One of the best shows I have ever seen. Joey defrancesco on organ. Washington's Winelight nuff said....
Pros at their best!
this is some sexy music what a great groove
this is #groove (and Cornell Dupree is funky as hell) - what a band!
Saw these finally,at North Sea,mid 80's......went as a Dupree fan....couldn't keep my eyes ofTee.....He was mesmerising....tightest band I ever saw.
when someone says: "in the pocket" - THIS is what they mean..
This is surely one of the best examples of musicians complementing each other whilst each being a master of his own instrument. Gaddzooks, the whole piece builds to the end of that sax solo at 5:21, then breaks down again, then Gadd nails it. Sheer brilliance.
Ronnie Cuber is a bleeping monster !!!!!!!
Gadd, Dupree, Tee were THE NYC recording rhthym section in those days. Great stuff.
This track always gives me goosebumps
One of my favorite ensambles!
5 Stars!...love the way Gadd has a tight sound 'til 3'-30" then opens up the ride cymbal; behind the sax...yeeah!
These guys are so good!
Mann Mann mmannn
the things I can do with THIS
WOW! !!!
RIP
I remember the Bitter End, and your music well!
steve was one of buddy's favourite drummers.
Jesus, whatta groove.
The bariton sax. is fantastic¡¡¡
What a great version, I'm Gonna do a youtube tutorial video about this groove! one of my favorite Gadd grooves,Thanks for uploading.
Gorgeous open handed groove! Another one added to the learn to play one day... Maybe not list list xD
Damn Gadd is one badass!
Outstanding stuff...
Jazz at its very best.
Unreal cohesion and *listening* - absolutely one great groove. What talent!
Sublime, une pure merveille !!
I went here to understand Ronnie better because I got a 1975 Keilwerth Baritone Sax (after 30 years of playing Tenor and Alto, yeah I'm crazy to try, no liw ?!?!?), and realize that THIS is THE BEST Jazz Band of this Time !! I LOVE the way Ronnie ends this with the WAY LOW AAAAAAAA !!!
Love these guys. Thanks for putting it up.
Wonderful
This is one of my all time favorites, thanks for posting.
Del
love that baritone sax
ronnie cuber owns it!
Très bon morceau
Cornell Dupree (born 1942 - died May 8, 2011) is an American R&B/soul jazz guitarist...

Rolf Hugo Hanssen

Bergen - Norway
groovy cats!
r. cuber for president!
Le panard ! génial !
Eddie Gomez bass groves like a cannonball
R.I.P. Ronnie Cuber. With Cuber's passing - Steve Gadd is the last living member of The Gadd Gang.
Epic shoulder pads
Uber cool!!!
Groove city.
All good.
Iam willing to bet you these guys were once crusaders
Ronnie Cuber it IS...:)
This is a great video. Wish Eric Gale was there with the guys. Steve was at his peak on drums I think by 1988. I love his ears and particularly his groove.
He has gotten locked in to his "pet" Gadd licks now though. As great as he is ( he was my favorite drummer in the late 70's) It seems he has quit growing as a drummer, choosing to stick with his patented licks.
Still though, one of the all time greats.
@@daveford5683 I'm not particularly a fan on NP. Not sure what you are saying.
If I were gay, or Steve Gadd was a woman, oh man. Just try and hold me back. XD
he's a MONSTER player. one of my favs. This might be one of my favorite solos by hi of all time. just so.... mmmmmmmm.
They played Montreux the Same Year and against my Low expectations got Over to me, their Records still do not.
Damn Steve
Thanks... I'm gonna have to check that track out... what a great tune Can't wait to hear the lyrics, too
concordo...
the leather pants are a nice touch
that horn man would be Ronnie Cuber
@ansyf125
it is Ronnie Cuber...!
the sound on the hi-hat is unique
I never said Ronnie was lame.... just the tune... his playing is smooth, but still good... cause.. its fuckin Ronnie!
Yes, that's really Eddie Gomez. He looks different because he doesn't have his mustacher here.
Yes, that's really Eddie Gomez. He looks different because he doesn't have a mustache here.
it was written by Phil Keaggey i think
Yeah, i really hope Steve Gadd converts.. I love souless christian rock!
Who wrote this?
Is Tom Steve's Bro ? I dunno ! :)
.
eh?
try and construct a melodic solo like Ronnie's with only C7
16 ppl have no soul
is that really gomez? doesn't look like him
Wow... look how young Ronnie is! and thin! hehe... He is playing so smooth though, but you cant beat that bari sound... he probably hated this gig... playing over C7 the whole time... lame
don't understand how the audience can keep bums on seats.
works even when Cornell is so out of tune...
OMG this is sooooooo rediculous. Just don't see this level anymore...
dont like that brass
Ronnie Cuber on Baritone Sax! Great Playing! UNDENIABLE! R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
