- This car arrived to us with all the work previously done, the mod list consist of full exhaust system intake and a set of dynamite performance camshaft, the car had previous issues with the tune,so we gave the car a new tune up using PCMTec software and the results are 👌

Nice. My fg xr6 has growler cold air intake, wildcat extractors and high flow cat coupled to a xforce 3 inch exhaust system . Great note,no droning noise and idles like a v8. Was going to turbocharge it but decided to keep it N/A.
I'm currently considering the same, cams or turbo conversion. How's your experience been with upgraded cams?
is it street legal?
Did you have to get a tune for the high flow cat?
@@jackhiston1441 yes unfortunately. They are very sensitive to changes with the dam ecms.
@Psilyzen well i no longer have the FG XR6, i sadly had to get rid of it as it was about to turn into a huge money pit that i could no longer afford, the bs 5 speed transmission in it started playing up slipping and shit,took it to a pro transmission builder and he straight out told me to do a ZF 6 speed swap as the 5r55s transmissions are a piece of sht and have to be rebuilt every 80,000 ks. Apparently the servos in them are terrible, so i looked at a ZF swap and holy crap -$6000,00 for a new 6 speed and the labour costs ! Na man ive already sunk 6 grand into mods and upgrades so it was time to say enough is enough. I sold it for $14,000.00 ,dropped about $2000,00 but as you probably know you never make all your money back on cars once you start modifying them. It went to a good home,i had my fun with it and i now stay away from modified anything,i now drive a very reliable toyota.

Whats your OP on the 2 pacemaker headers, 4990/4995? My understanding is the 90s are better down low and the 95s are for top end. Is one clearly better all round though?
The ones on this will be 95 because they look the best on the dyno but the 90 are better for low-mid range
Hey does anyone know what causes the dip in power/torque at around 4000? Its pretty noticable in a stock FG.
Flap in the manifold that switches the runner length. Long runner length down low for torque and short up top for horsepower at rpm. Just put a plastic FG manifold onto BF and very noticable compared to stock alloy one.
That turbo intake manifold looks great! Would it affect the performance much or be worth doing on the NA? I know in the video you said better power on stop end? Affect anything else? Fuel use? Easy to do?
I think up to 500 kW it will be fine

Seen this at Calder last week run high high 14s. My stock one went 15.0
Yes that is correct, we still have a lot more setting up to do. Sometimes things just don't work out 😠
hopefully 1st March it will be down at Calder, the manifold has been removed and replaced with a standard one which has fixed a lot of issues we were having. before it had cams done it could run a best of 13.80, aiming to get it back to mid 13s
@@karlkarcoushkas3970 if I bought a standard fg, and had 3k to spend, what should I do? It's hard to find out, and it looks like you have tested a fair bit out.
@JLM 414 would you recommend the fg na barra over the vf sv6 for a p plate car in terms of general performance, power potential and overall reliability?
@JLM 414 thanks so much mate. I think i will stick with just the na xr6 and sell it for a turbo when im off ps. It seems the barra is usually the go to for reliability when it comes to 6 cylinders atleast. Plus i hear good things about the zf transmission. Probably just keep it stock or maybe some cheap simple mods down the track. I should be able to get an na xr6 pretty cheap. From what i hear they seem to be pretty bulletproof in the engine department even at high kms. Could also think about an sv6. Seems like it had a better interior but i think the driveline lets its down a bit. Im not sure the v6 would be anywhere near as reliable as the barra.

You can hit 200kw with bolt on without the cams

Thats less power than what the tuned vf sv6s are making. although i would imagine the barra would have a lot more torque.

@@nickwilliams8238 Yeh but its a VF. Nobody has even taken the Holden v6s seriously for perfomance or reliability. And the aftermarket is far larger for the barra. Whats the point in me buying an LFX and get it tuned only for my shit motor to last 5 oil changes.
You again luke hahaha, the sv6s make power and respond way better, and just because you cant take care of an engine properly doesnt mean its bad. For a cam upgrade intake n exhaust this na barra is piss weak
@@mindfreak9674 i have an fg xr6 5 speed with a catback and intake. I've beat every sv6 out there. I always seem to get the best start and then its pretty even until about 130/140 and i start pulling away again
