I agree with him in saying the direction one takes should take priority in one's life. With that said I think instead of forgetting goals people should see them as an intellectual tool used to set standards to the direction you want to take. By setting goals toward the direction you take it makes you ask that many more questions about what you're doing and in turn how much more your experience is uniquely yours. The problem I have had and see with goals is going to micro in your viewpoint and seeing the goal as the end all experience instead of recognizing it as a step in the way you want to live your life.
