I’m surprised Joe didn’t talk about Ali’s corruption though and that his hoaxed fight with Sonny Liston was setup and Holmes faked a KO which is why it was named a Phantom
Punch and every news outlet questioned Ali about it after the fight but he wouldn’t speak on it because Liston was on record as being tied to the Genovese Family. People always talk about Don King and all his scandals yet forget he was Ali’s promoter too.

I wonder if there was ever a moment when Michael thought he might get whacked. Like a Donnie brasco situation where he got “sent for” and thought maybe he was about to be clipped and wasn’t. Because I’m sure in that life you have to almost always be a little on edge. A little anxious about every situation and how it may go wrong, or something you said or did being taken wrong by someone else, etc.
Prize fights are national (and international) events.
There has to be a singular authority.

I don't personally subscribe to the Mafia mentality, even though I understand and agree with some of it. I'm not a street guy whatsoever but Joey brought receipts with his claims. The 302s don't lie. None of these mob guys/former mob guys have ever produced evidence like Joey has. I like Michael in many ways and his father was a gentleman and a tough guy, but in that life, according to the strict rules of Cosa Nostra, you are not allowed to associate with anyone who cooperated with the government, including family members. Many mob guys break the rules all the time but if you wanna go strictly by the book, Sonny was supposed to disown them. I personally could never disown my family but that's just me. Joey coming from a Cosa Nostra mindset, is correct in his statements. I don't ever mean to put Michael or his father down, that's not in my heart, but I'm just being honest. Let's look at all the facts and written statements verbatim and judge honestly and not judge someone simply because we happen to like them personally.
