"Gamblers at a roulette table looking to double their money traditionally face the choice of putting it all on black or red. And on Black / Red, their landmark 12th album, Feeder also go for a high-stakes double: 18 tracks, two “discs” and one raised middle finger to today’s supposedly TikTok-ravaged short attention spans.
Luckily, if there’s any band that could be described as a sure thing, it’s probably Feeder. There’s barely been a misstep across those dozen records and while this trilogy-concluding follow-up to 2022’s excellent Torpedo is certainly ambitious, Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose emerge with their high-rolling reputations enhanced.
The ’Black’ disc continues Torpedo’s hard-rocking renaissance, the tightly wound classic rock riffing of Playing With Fire and the expansive, cinematic landscape of ELF striking a charming juxtaposition with the irresistible pop rush of Hey You. ‘Red’ isn’t quite as heavy, but it’s just as intense, stuffed with Feeder’s ’00s trademark: melody-drenched, emotive alternative-rock anthems such as Sleeping Dogs Lie, Unconditional and Here Comes The Hurricane.
Feeder are still more than capable of springing a surprise - lord alone knows what odds you’d have got on the poignant Soldiers Of Love sporting a bagpipes intro, 30 years after they first blasted out of South Wales. But as that song rails against a world 'When you feel nothing is real', you’ll realise that - whether you have time to hear these songs all together or listen to them in splendid isolation - Black / Red is an authentic representation of a great band in full, long-distance flight.
And, if you’re looking for a band to keep it real in a world of fakes, you could do a lot worse than to put it all on Feeder."

Feeder THIS IS RAD
Miss those days
I learned to play this then played along to the video 15 or more years ago ha ha ❤️
hands up who remembers this being played on kerrang every bloody hour
Sounds like heaven...
Back when Kerrang was good and played good bands like this and not bullshit like 21 Pilots
Yep. What the fuck happened?
Yep along with How you Remind Me, In the End and Hate to Say I Told You So etc....
Yea but there was f all else to listen to
Don't know why but as a 35 year old bloke, listening to this song brings floods of tears. Maybe it's just nostalgia. I had a good youth and I'm doing ok now but, this just brings back feelings I can't explain.
I’m 39, brings back memories of friends I no longer see who loved this song 😢
@@destig83 same here... I live in Korea now and I miss so many friends from secondary school...but have no way to contact them.
@@mattyward1979 pure youthful joy eh?
yeah same here lol
I think it is a reminder of better times. In the sense of when the responsibility of adulthood wasn't there and you don't realise how much more personal freedom we really had to enjoy things.
Also, being a kid in the early 2000s and privately moshing out to tunes like this was just a great time.
I'm 36, and days like this seem only yesterday. Time just goes too fast.
Kerrang '01-06
What a time to be alive.
Also MTV2
To everyone in this video- thank you so much for one of the most wonderful memories of my life- this video still makes unbelievably happy after all these years. You absolute stars. 20 years ago this year !!! Less than 2m views?! What?! This song was huge. Happiest time of my life.
I feel the same way buddy I love this video so much it makes me very happy and nostalgic!!
100% agree and relate to your feelings mate
much love everyone
Still one of the best music videos ever made. And thank you to everyone that was in it. About time we had a anniversary "where are they now" video?
When I got my first PS2, Gran Turismo 3 came with it(also MGS 2), and I preselected the tracks which mostly consisted of Feeder, especially this song.
I remember vividly playing it in the corner of the room on a small tv with headphones whiles my brother slept(we shared a room)
.
This song honestly made me addicted to Gran Turismo and I'm forever thankful.
Jotaro it was one of my first games on my ps2.
I get teary eyed with the nostalgia!!
PS1 GT2
Same here boys. Same here.
MGS and GT
You have very good taste.
Ahh GT3, good times.
yeahh
damn man memories
yeah i was really young when i first time hear this music in GT3
you read my mind
I went to CEX brought this game 5 days ago. Replaying it and I love it when this song comes on, probably about 7+ years since I've played this even more
It would be great to get the video remade with them all as they are now (2015).
+Brit Lurker Fuck. That's true.
+Brit Lurker YES! would be awesome
+Brit Lurker thats a fucking great idea !
+Brit Lurker Yeah ! It would be very nice !
Well we are fatter , more depressed and up to our eyes in debt with a huge mortgage working 60 hours a week to make ends meet .... Stay young kids and don't grow up its a trap
My mom died of cancer last year in June 2021, this song takes me back to the old days when she was still around… appreciate what y’all have right now because one day it’ll be gone
I’m 40 and this tune still slaps
How amazing it would be to repeat this vid with all the ppl but as their age today. So 23 years later. Mad ting!!!!!
I'm leaving this comment hare so that whenever someone likes it , I will come back and listen to this master piece again
Oh i miss the days of Gran turismo 3 with this song
I've added The GT2/3/4 songs to GT6 using the custom playlist thing. Nostalgia overload with an Evo 4 round trial mountain.. :D
My guy is the little cutie on the drumsticks! 20yrs later and he's still a rockstar! XXX
Back then, when kids would listen to the coolest of music! Blessed to be born in the 80s.
I’m tearing up man….
This video should be re-shot with all us 30 something old fans rocking out in our Covid 19 lockdown, make it happen Feeder!
Or with the original people 😂
They are! facebook.com/6063369982/posts/10157463768264983/?extid=LfFguKQV79Pswrjo&d=null&vh=e
@@M0tty holy shit they seen my post lol, or it was just a great idea they thought of it too
Excuse me - I'm 55 and still rock n roll ✌️ with Feeder 🤣
@@juliejones8709 what i mean is looking at the ages of most people in their video they would be 30s now
Anyone whos early 30s watching this getting heavy nostalgia? Kerrang, P-Rock, Scuzz tv 👍
27 y/o here, getting that same feel.
33 here. Exactly what I was thinking! Reminds me of being 16 watching kerrang on repeat for hours on end
I'm early 40s, do I count?
Well past that and remember it well. Brilliant tune and excellent vid.
20s here. This was my childhood and along with early 2000s Kerran it has shaped not only my musical taste but also my artistic style as an artist. Kerrang was good back then. I miss those days. Things were simple back then of course I was just a child then but I was always ahead of other people my age and more aware of the world around me
What a band! This brings back serious vibes from late 90's-00's. Miss all the bands in that period. We have absolute dribble these days.
I truly hope everyone featured in the video are living good lives now. What a perfect time capsule
What a great band. When I was the in the Army 99-05 I was into these guys big time, was always playing in our block. Great memories everytime I hear a Feeder song. Thanks for the brilliant songs that accompany my memories....
Nice one mate. Well said.
Darren Groves same years I was in.
6 years in army? Dude, you might be triggered...
I remember when this was on Kerrang! constantly. Along with Tribute - Tenacious D
Oh they overplayed that Tenacious D song so much it annoyed me in the end. Cannot listen to it these days without thinking of Kerrang because it was in K-Loadeds number 1 for weeks and made Wet Wet Wets all around seem like it was number 1 for only a month, let alone 4. Was the same with Staind and Fred Durst "Outside" but I wasn't a fan of that song.
Omg that tenacious D song was on sooo much
Rammstein - Sonne
Korn - Freak on a leash
1234 czcams.com/video/7OgH3B49_E4/video.html this one mate 😂
And staind outside live version
Anyone here in 2019 probably one of the greatest music videos ever
Toby Herbert yes, me, and yes the best ever!
The nostalgia is enough to make me cry
Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec Guys!! Such nostalgia!! I love that game to bits! I still play it on my PS2!!
Back when kids just didn't care about how many likes they got, lived in the moment, had a real good time. Good things have come from social media but it came at the cost of this. Wonder what they're all doing now..
Preach
I was thinking about it, and I think we should rather place the blame on smartphones rather than social media.
When there was MySpace and Facebook, my friends were all still active outside of home and posting on your social media was something you'd do after the day is over. Now it's all upside down - people are on their phones most of the time, with occasional exchange of words.
Sad.
I was born in 2007 and am 14 now and I really wish I grew up in the times when this was made, everyone seemed so much happier then
Young people have never enjoyed having conversations.....I mean, in the 1990s we did it more, because we had less choice, but it was not something you looked forward to.
And as soon as the internet came along, we moved our social lives onto it.
I mean, first we used e-mail. Then we moved onto chat rooms. Then it was instant messaging. Then, when mobile phones got popular we used them exclusively for texting (never for calls!).
Just saying, not that much has changed. Even in 1998/1999 young people never spoke to eachother - we were mostly emailing.
to the black-haired girl dancing alone in the pink bedroom- i've loved you for a thousand years!
+saint nigel cheers
Lucy Guest sorry if this is a little inappropriate but do you have an instagram?
+saint nigel lucyguest85
+Lucy Guest thanks! it turns out I already follow you. I mustve searched your name on it
+Lucy Guest haha as if! dont worry you have fans :)
This music video is the most 90s/early 2000s thing I've ever seen (and I fucking love it)
This remains, for me, the greatest rock/pop video ever made, end of. Even now it has me in stitches 👍
Driving within speedlimits while listening to this is beyond impossible.
This video is just pure nostalgia
God I miss my teenage years
Just one of those classic "feelgood" videos, man
This is by far my favourite music video of all time. Also one of my favourite songs. Brings back so many cool memories from high school. Cheers!
This video is so fucking wholesome. In a way nothing ever will be ever again.
You know what, my first comment didn't do this song justice. When this song came out I was in a bad place in my life, I was 19yrs old and really emotionally unstable. This song got me through some really dark times, thank you Feeder you will always hold a special place in my heart.
Im so fucking glad it did.. the bad themselves had hard times. many of the members did and if this made you reach out nad feel happy it did its job you are never alone
That’s awesome!! It’s a great song and the video is even better. Love that it’s full of friends rocking out together without a care in the world. Glad it was a help to you when you were down
CrrazyAl I’m still best friends with the girl I made it with!
@@PasticheofSkin This song is no to make people happy at all. It's actually a very sad song.
Old school kerrang god I miss them days 😩
..Nah, Kerrang would play the same thing all the time. It was either this, Blink 182, Linkin Park or Rammstein. They never really had variety like MTV2 or early Scuzz.
Easily the most underrated British band of all time.
Welsh* band of all time ;)...
If you want to split hairs - Welsh/Japanese...why stop there? South Wales/Central Japan....why stop there? Newport/Mizuho.....
+Twenty Three: Amen to that sir!
@@SOLTYgty yahhh!!!!
@John Smith they have an awesome american theme
Oh the memories..... what an absolute TUNE!
Randomly woke up at 4am on a work night with this stuck in my head and couldn't get back to sleep!! I miss these days soooooo bad!!! Dammmn times were so much better back then lol!!
Epic video.
They should re-release the song with the same people as they look now from the original video.
Most of these kids would be in their 20s-30s now. Holy shit.
Caitlin Rix I was 16 and I’m 34 now 😬
@@caitlinrix294 20s? The video is 20 years old....they'll most likely be in their 30s and 40s. If not 50s.

@@lucyguest4374 wow u aged well though :)
The two girls in their bedroom, dancing and drinking, those were the type girls I wanted to meet back then 👍😂
Or even now
Posters were such an early 00s thing. Can see the difference from this and Just A Day 2
For some strange reason today is the first time I'm hearing this song and strangely I'm reminded of Greenday's " Basket Case"
One of the best British rock songs of all time...accompanied with one of the best music videos of all time.
0:49 She is sooo cute !
Utterly joyful
Nostalgia at it's best. Reminds me of being in high school.
"oooh dear me" gets me everytime haha
holy shit, nostalgia surge....haven't heard this song 10 years or even more.. GT 3 memories and high school
Feeder! Love you. Thanks for being part of that time in my life. I always smile listening to you

GT3 memories
the song my hubby and I had our first kiss, today 12,5 years ago ! awesome, never saw this vid.
Gran Turismo 3. Oh the feels
i prefer this one.
oh for sure. what a little time capsule this is! so much nostalgia. innocent. the new one is cool though if only for the cameos!
It is literally physically impossible to turn this song up too much!
1.58 - proof that the smartphone generation didn't invent the 'selfie'!
The difference is back then a photo was a novelty, it wasn't so narcissistic, it was more fun :)
@@Tenfrente Also you had to wait until you had taken a couple of dozen more pictures, take it to the developers wait a while (sometimes as little as 1 hour!) then visit each of your friends to show them the picture. It's not that older generations were less narcissistic, modern technology just makes it way easier.
my final month of being a teenager. this track brings back good memories
lol
Hope proper adulthood is treating you well!
TVRbestcar Moved out, Studying full time, and working for $12/hour. Yeah, life's a struggle xD
My last 3 days of being a teen
I love this video, it always lifts my mood :) Classic song, it'll never fade.
I miss being obsessed with this sort of music tbh, music like this always takes me to a specific place i listened to it when i was younger
legends
Just me that has a tear then? :( ahhhhhhhhh
Saw them last night in Hyde Park - they still rock. Bring on the new album!
Damn this bring back memoirs
I'm 52 in three weeks, and I'm pogoing around the workshop floor with the boys and girls half my age at work who are crying with laughter and joy because they've never heard of Feeder, and love them as much as we did twenty years ago. LET'S GO ALREADYYYYYYYYYYYY.
Because of this video I thought that "In order of appearance" meant "In order of how hot we think they are". I felt so, so sorry for Neil Harrison as a child.
Laughed so hard I bursty stitches!
I totally forgot about this band until last night when I heard one of their songs on a B.T. advert here in the uk
Still loving this 19yrs later through the lock down
A timeless classic. This is a great song
Blasting out the tunnel on deep forest raceway at about 180 screaming to this!!!
best music video ever
This song just kicks ass...period
Such a 'FEEL GOOD' factor about this song/video.
So much going on.
Encapsulates the zeitgeist of real American youth.
GT3, best song on the game
1:32 the guy playing drums...knew all about the mannequin challenge before his time
Going to their show in London - 23rd Sep 2019, the Roundhouse, London.
pretty much 20 years since I discovered them via the GT games and I finally get to see them live!
When I searched if my favourite song had a videoclip I met this and I first though that it was a fanmade tribute video, but then I realized it was the OFFICIAL one. This video shows how much Feeder cares about their fans. EPIC.
This used to be the shit back in the day when, surfing through music channels, this would stop me every time
Best music video ever! Fantastic idea and such a great memory for the people involved
One of the greatest music videos ever. Pure, care-free and joyful!
I always feel a little sad when this first starts, sad for times long past and how far my life has moved on/changed but then the music kicks in and I start rocking out like I'm in the video. Instant mood lifter!
That small child is now 17 years old.
