Made famous by our comrades at In Extremo, this song features Villemann, a harp player who uses his music to harness the strength of a troll and save a princess from its grip.

It's a bridal song, common for the whole of Scandinavia. Villemann, the groom came to his bride Magnhild, and she said that she had had a dream that an ugly troll would kidnap her when she was walking to Villemann. And it happened just as she said: the troll kidnapped her and hid her at the bottom of a river. Then Villemann took his gold harp and went to the river because runes predicted his good luck. So, he started playing the harp and singing and his singing was so beautiful that the troll emerged from the river when Villemann stopped playing and asked him for more music. Villemann told the troll to give him Magnhild back if he wanted to listen to more music and the troll returned the girl to him. And the guy broke his harp and deprived the troll of his strength, killing him. The refain is: because the runes predicted him good luck.
