All these comment about Menno...It’s mostly stems from envy and people love underdogs. I mean who roots for the guys that already have everything?
However, what's more "underdog" than a bboy from Hustle Kids in the early 2000s who worked his tail off to get to the top of the mountain seemingly by pure willpower and passion for bboying? Especially when compared to his biggest rivals around that time which were Hong 10, Morris, Roxrite, Physicx, Wing, The End, and more elite bboys?
You can hate him all you want but he's putting in work and Red Bull recognizes his passion and so happens to back him up. Just like any other person who's passionate and stellar in their field that you probably see everywhere, Lebron James, Tom Brady, Serena Williams to name a few, you got to give them a hand to all that valiant effort and what they bring to attract more people in the art. I bet any of you all if you are in Menno's shoes would not be feeling this way.

Hey everyone!
I'm sure everyone is curious what is going on. Myself, having a role within the Pro Breaking Tour organization, I'll try to explain it the best I can. So yes, Silverback Open 2019 is cancelled, and quite possibly for good. Background on Silverback: it was founded & funded by Steve Graham, a 60 year old businessman who has a love for breaking since the 80s. After knowing Steve this last 5 years, I can say he means well. He dances, and wants to showcase breaking to the rest of the world because...as we all agree, it's awesome. Thus he created Silverback Bboy Events, Pro Breaking Tour, and UDEF (the governing body). This venture the last 5 years was carried on through the assistance of many people in the scene who was the positive of this movement, including myself (Stance), Cros, TheBboySpot, Legits, Bboy Network, pretty much every organizer in North America.
Steve's main idea was to create a Tour like the X-Games, except for breaking, uniting many of the smaller events together, and hitting it off with an event of his own (Silverback Open), and Freestyle Session. Steve injected over $2.5 million of his own money into these events for prize money, DJ & judge fees, dancer invitee fees, media fees (we flew from city to city filming), and more. The hope was to create a spark into these events so a major sponsor, such as Monster, Red Bull, Uber, would be interested into sponsoring, then in the future the Tour could be self-sustaining in terms of financing without Steve's help.
Fast forward to yesterday, it was decided Silverback Open would be cancelled. In recent years the Tour has been getting harassment from some people in the scene, primarily Curtis Hedges (bboy Peter Pan), Erwin (Bboyworld), and Mr Freeze. Reasons stem from the Tour supporting bboys / judges / event promoters they do not support; Curtis claiming he has full copyright of the round-for-round judging format; general harassment that Steve is not part of the "bboy community" and so forth. Curtis has even brought forth "child labor" threats, saying the kids battles are against the law. All of this is to try and take down the Tour due to them not being at the head of the decision making table. Eventually, these threats got to a point where they were starting to bring personal matters in, such as Steve's investment firm, or Cros' family. It was this tipping point that Steve decided to stop.
So what happens next? As of this moment, Silverback Open is cancelled. The current Pro Breaking Tour will continue with the other events for this year. Freestyle Session is still here since it's Cros'. However, next year there may be considerably less money. (no Top 32 prizes, which was super generous to begin with) Also, without someone like Steve funding the Tour, there won't be any money to pay for a Tour manager, accountant, media expenses (us), so there may be a lot less organization next few years.

There's something about menno style that's boring.. I'm not hating on him or anything
his flow is dope but there's little dynamics or punctuation, it's just like rambling poetry to me. i wish he used more freezes and pace switching, but he's gotten a lot better

menno's flow is legendary and some of the stuff he does is really impressive to the eyes if you've watched tons of bboy videos over the years or actively bboy. Its not easy what he's doing, but he makes it look so effortless and beautifully makes it all flow. its definitely not airflares or hollowbacks but i can guarantee that you'll get bored looking at that stuff over and over way before you'd get bored looking at menno
