    These videos are looking great dude. It may be easier as a viewer to digest these moves if you were to play a clip all the way through, and then replay it with your breakdown. Keep it up!

      Came in here to say that. Show us at full speed once so we know where where are looking. Break it down the move. Show us at full speed again now that we know what we are watching for.

    Fantastic breakdown, I appreciate the reference to football because more likely than not, the football industrial complex has probably figured out how to create separation from a defender. For example, there is a channel called the Sideline Hustle where a pro receiver coach shows some in depth videos on the moves.
    Another sport to reference would be basketball. The core move in many of the ultimate cuts in this video are referred to as being Shifty or having Shiftiness - convince defender you are going left and then go right. There is a wealth of videos on developing shiftiness, the drills and mobility required for it in the basketball training world.

    Really nice topic. Cool that you're making videos, Jack - you're one of my favorite players to watch! I'm wondering if some slow motion playback would allow you to narrate and give a more fluid feel to the video. You could rewind to emphasize. I think we'd be getting a better idea of the feel of the thing. Seeing the directions / feeling the forces. Thanks, man.

    It seems like most (if not all) of these examples feature the cutter juking to his left and cutting right. It's all pushing off that left foot. I wonder if that's a right handed thing. I think most right handers like to sky off their left leg and catch right handed. Maybe that leg is stronger.

    • @shawnpickering5746
      @shawnpickering5746 Před rokem +1

      I think it is more the defensive force. They are forcing flick side in a lot of these so to get upfield while standing break side you would set your cut left side then go right. There are instances of cutter coming back to get dump to break side where you fake the up line onto left foot and go right.

    Ryan Farrell was the king of this type of cut.
    Funny I'm just seeing this video now but you sort of predicted the rise of these teams with young offenses that utilize small spaces to get out of tight spots and score easy goals when defenses are most stingy near the goal line.

  • @aaron8350
    @aaron8350 Před rokem

    Jump cuts dont make any sense. You cant change direction at all in the air and when you land you body has to adjust for your momentum so just stay on the ground where you have total control.

    • @Mellowyellow8888
      @Mellowyellow8888 Před rokem

      i think u're not understanding these jump cuts.. they are actually called press releases in football.. the jump is actually a small hop.. you go into it knowing which direction you want to juke.. theres like no contortion in mid air.. half the time the hop is meant to close the space.. between you and the defender.. because if theres too much distance.. it gives the defender too much time and space to react.. Go look up some press releases in football.. its quite insightful.. some works with ultimate.. some not so much...

    • @aaron8350
      @aaron8350 Před rokem

      @@Mellowyellow8888 Why cant you do the same thing on the ground though. once youre in the air you have no control so your movement is totally predictable up until you land and then they start tracking again.
