Mervyn King's articulation of complex economic issues is refreshing. He appears to have focussed on soliciting honesty and consensus as the Governor of B0fE. I have lost faith in central banks, MMT and politicians, but completely embrace his views on where it went wrong and suggest that he play a key role in globally putting it right from here!

A very good interview for those that are interested in the subject. MK is so good at explaining a complex issue in a simple straightforward way. It would be most reassuring if he would return to the BOE for a while, just to get through this tricky period.

Please could we not persuade this gentle man to come back to the forefront of economics / central banking. What a waste for such a man with all his experience to be wasting his time pruning roses. Come back Mervyn, come back ASAP.

hilarious talk on CBDC. Are people dreaming? - checkbook money has been around since John Law, and our money has been digital for decades. What do you think a debit card is? Crypto people will all go BK. Crypto has no assets backing it like a Citibank dollar does.
