I'm convinced Adam completely memorizes his lines when he hosts. He rarely breaks eye contact with the cast
I was thinking the same thing. I know it’s impractical for cast members to do it every week but it makes these sketches so much better.
100%. He acts that hard, for us. He's one of my favorite SNL hosts ever, and I'm such a big SNL fan I named my dog Rocky after Rockefeller Center where it's filmed, I love SNL.

@@bradenkerr9062 oh for sure I don't hold it against the cast, but you can see most, maybe even the majority, of hosts still peeking at the cue cards.
That is so rare for the host, too, which can be disappointing when someone is a host whose job is to actually to ACT for a living. And, it's so distracting. But, Adam Driver is just SO GOOD on SNL.

Adam actually makes the cast look bad. He plays his part like it's in a movie. He never/rarely looks at the teleprompter and always gets the vibe of what he's saying spot on. He's one of the best hosts I've ever seen in SNL.

The colorful apron, especially in combination with that shirt, is supremely ridiculous.

Kenan being the way this ended was literally the best of all possible endings. They looked into the future and found the clear answer.
A lot of sketches on SNL have a great premise and are funny, but they can't stick the landing. This one did.

Someone nearly beep'd their last beep.
The transition from the cozy friendly festive vapid atmosphere of the biginning to the absolute air getting sucked out of the room by an existential battle about something stupid between two grown men, was top notch. Than the sketch lagged a little in the middle. Keenan to the rescue in the end though. But that transition was incredible. The abysmal dread that descended on that room all of a sudden! Hilarious.
That's fine. You can think it's stupid...as long as you get out of the way of a man that goes "beep beep." :P

In the hands of Adam Driver "You see I'm a little car right now" is one of the greatest comedy lines of all time.
It's very impressive and rare for a dramatic actor of his caliber to be able to do comedy so well. I want him to do a comedic role in a movie so bad. Like a buddy road trip movie with him, Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell and Steve Carell would be ridiculously funny. Basically the whole Anchorman cast plus Adam Driver.
This is where I leave you is an underrated comedy. I wish his role was bigger in it

@TheMijman He is excellent at satire but he has not done a true just raunchy or Step Brothers/Talladega Nights type of Comedy. Logan Lucky was great and was leaning a bit towards that but I'm talking just the ridiculous ba**s out stuff he is showing us here on SNL. It would be golden.
Adam went to Juilliard and has a lot of experience in theater and is really dedicated to memorizing his lines, which always makes him such an amazing host everytime. You can really tell that he loves to act and is passionate about his projects

Adam is sucha great host, really learns the lines.
He fumbled a couple times, but he does great yeah.
Yeah… must have been a real challenge… he literally has 8 lines, one of them being “beep beep, let me scoot right past ya” which is used like half a dozen times.
I mean I’m not just trying to be negative, he is actually quite a good host and does learn his parts I just wish the material had some actual thought put into it.
Two guys say beep beep a lot, an onlooker gives exposition that it warrants a duel, another guy walks in and says bang bang… this is like a parody of a bad sketch. Then there was that other one where Adam plays a baby, and the joke is what exactly? Because Adam is playing the baby, they remark that the baby looks old? What a concept.

I think most skits are produced for a live audience and the actors play to the audience. I think Adam Driver's parts are delivered like a scene from a movie, his lines flow as if he’s having a real conversation. His delivery definitely stands out.
When two main characters think the other person is an NPC and it triggers an endless dialogue loop.
It's true what they say: the only way to stop two guys with bad casseroles, is with a good guy with an even worse casserole -- and a gun.
I now understand why Americans care so much for their gun. There are these kind of situations.
I'm sure the writers were absolutely ecstatic when they heard Adam was going to host. They can give him a phone book to read and he'll find a way to make it hilarious!
The Stuart Little line was great 😹 but when Kenan flashed the tool on his hip ☠

Andrew Dismukes co-wrote the Del Taco sketch Adam did the last time he hosted, so I was hoping they'd get to appear together. This was just what I was hoping for, if not better. Such a great mix of their tensions and energy. And a good ending too.

I don’t know if Adam driver writes his own sketches or content but he’s definitely one of the funniest, most original hosts of the modern SNL era. Dude is consistently hilarious and sketches are unique af. Not all but more than most. AD is a funny MFer and love the dark humor
