All in the coaching, he was fantastic under Ange, so was Kyogo. What's happened is Rogers, that's why they aren't the players they were.

We are riding two horses here - on the one hand, the club's economic growth is based on developing talent to profit from in the future and secondly we also need to improve key positions on the park immediately. There was very limited movement across clubs in this window because no one wants to lose their best players midway through the season. We need to get behind Brendan and the Bhoys for the rest of the season. Mon the Hoops

Sorry, I don’t know the guys name, but he’s perhaps the anchor of 20 min Tim’s, I like to think he kept on with his questioning, despite BR’s faux staring and tilting of the head. No one is buying it anymore. He’s shat it. He’s been found out. Danny Mcgrain is the only one backing him, apparently.
This is turning into an old Newcastle Utd scenario where the Manager is unsupported and the fans are paying through the nose for mediocrity. Those at the top won’t ever be held accountable and it’s left to the players and coaches to bear the brunt of all the boos and animosity. The gaffer was probably told “it’ll be different this time around” but clearly that isn’t the case.

I don't quite get the entire psychology of 'the club ' as a whole entity with decision making ,as Brendan stated ? If Celtic had been brave enough to spend £20 million for example on 4or 5 'another level ' players ( the money is available ) that would win us the league and guarantee £60 million for CL qualification making at least £40 million in the process after the initial layout . I don't get the reasoning behind Brendan's answers ? I understand about wages and bonuses for these non event guys would have been costly , but what's not to like about £40 million profit ?

For those saying BR is a YES man obviously can't read between the lines, he was saying diplomatically he wasn't backed. It just begs the question why did the board bring him back when they fully know that he will required higher level of spend, it's not like he could unearth great Japanese players on the cheap. Desmond was so happy to choose Ange because he did not ask about the transfer budget. If you want to stay on budget (on the cheap) then get someone who can work within those parameters, the best option would have been to get Kevin Muscat from Yokohama to build on Ange's legacy. I won't blame BR if he leaves again.
It looks more and more as if the board has a wager on. That they've put money on the filth winning the league and not us. It's the only sound conclusion.

Brendan said when talking about the recruitment "I get a sense of looking for someone to blame". Correct....because HE has been bemoaning the lack of quality all season but now comes out to defend the policy when there's an opportunity to do something about it. The main takeaways are we need to be ‘braver’ in the market and he needs to be better at convincing ‘the board’ that we should be buying players of higher quality.

As well as our recruitment success or lack of ,it seems all our own development players are being loaned out to accomodate other clubs development players .Surely our own lads are no worse than the ones the recruitment is bringing to the club because if they are then its high time the coaching and development structure needs a big rethink .

I listened to the Huddle Breakdown (strongly recommend btw) last night and they said that the market was stagnant this window. On top of the usual 'its a difficult window ' stuff England - the biggest most monied league - are being pressed on, I forget the initials but it like Financial Fair Play and that has slowed the dominoes falling and it compounded with the international competitions in Asia and Africa pulling away European clubs' players it has meant the clubs who can afford to speculate maybe don't want to because they needed the fringe players over the period til mid Feb to cope without their Asian and African players away on international duty.
It's not a good news story but there is a ton on missing context. For the record, I feel for Brendan, he must feel let down. I just hope he understands the market forces that contributed to the disappointment. He knows about the window being difficult and that we aren't exactly flush compared to a lot of other clubs in Europe bu the FFP and Africa and (actually knew about this 1 due to Tilio, Yang, Oh, Hatate and Maeda) Asia Cups on top was news to me HH

Thank you for putting the question forward. Sounds like he's suggesting the strategy has changed from cheap projects in the summer but clubs didn't want to sell, not sure if it's genuine or a smoke screen, maybe had no intention of spending big and saying they did knowing players weren't available.
