In my pov, Steven and Lauren had zero chemistry. Especially since they both have have no similarities, Steven and Abi had more chemistry together. Because with Abi there were similarities between them, especially with what they both have been through and they had more of an understanding with each other. Him with Lauren was the complete opposite, they were constantly fighting, she never truly loved him, the way Abi did, Steven was just a rebound to Lauren, especially since she aborted his baby, was gonna run off back to New Zealand and end things with him to be with Josh. EE should've had Lauren broke up with Steven and had him be with Abi instead.
I mean since both Aaron and Lorna were gonna leave their roles. Instead of killing them off, had them get exposed for the Cancergate lie (followed with backlash from both families and the Walford community) and had them had a black cab exit with a Julia's theme. So that they can leave walford and have a fresh start somewhere.
