Additional fun fact:
The sword John Romero's character took in their D&D game which caused the demonic invasion was actually the Daikatana. Which infamously became Romero's first venture into video game development post-Doom.
I'm a huge fan of this franchise and am delighted to see it get more representation from you boys! Keep up the great work! Let me know if you want any input on any potential "10 Best Doom Levels" video... ;)
Remember when Daikatana was supposed to make you its bitch? Yeap.
Tiny Peter is scared of Nightmares confirmed.
Doom 3 is way underrated. It was terrifying when I was a kid
I still play Doom 3
Great video as always, lads. Rip & Tear!
I hadn't heard about the new levels until now. Luckily I've recently dusted off the hold Doom95 collectors edition and got it running on an old XP machine.
Great video. One thing.... how could windows 95 be the second most installed thing on pc's in late 1993?
Was about to say the same thing! Haha, what a weird mistake.
windows 3.1.....
Since I'm old enough to remember, most people that had computers ran Windows 3.1 and some people I knew had DOS. Yea DOS was its own thing and had no GUI just DOS.
Windows for Workgroups, man! Windows 95 wasn't the first windows by a longshot. It was the best, though. >__>
@@gakk8658 nah windows 98 was way better than 95, automatic driver detection
instead of scrapping doom 4 they should've just renamed it son of doom or some crap like that as kind of a spinoff from the original. looked fun
Soooo the Cacodemon literally uses the artwork of another Dnd monster called a Astral Dreadnought in the old Doom games.
Since the Astral Dreadnought is considered a Beholderkin Outsider, I don’t see a conflict there.
LGR clip. I see you TJump
What is the music playing in the background?
John Doom is my favourite video game protagonist
2:16 is that chum-Lee on the right??
Gee, I didn't know that.
There is a Turkey Puncher cabinet in Doom (2016)
My favourite franchise
Chex Quest is the best doom sequel don't @ me
What's the music in intro?
please
In 1993 people were using Windows 95? Did you do any fact checking here?
What about turbo turkey puncher in doom2016
Damn, I was the 68th like. So close. Great video as always! :)
I think you meant Bejeweled clone
The way you say Carmack is weird
So instead of it being 10 things you didn't know, its like 10 things everyone knows about Doom, Least Tiny Peter does a really good job
I didn't know a couple of these things. Not everybody is a huge Fanboy of doom who knows all this.
@@Dave_ja_vu I mean, when you grow up with Doom, you tend to have a soft spot for everything Doom related. Kinda like kids who grow up with the Star Wars prequels have fondness for it. While those who grew up with the original trilogy had ire for it (the prequels)
@@kevinKronnack nothing to do with it. Its clear you're gonna know them, you're a fan of the series.
Mood is Doom backwards
Oh shi-
@@em_birch I know right!
@@Mightyguybrush2 Prove it.

@@Mightyguybrush2 Thanks, appreciate it!
I call bullshit on Romero being the model for Doomguy. Seems like the self-agrandizing nonsense he's spouted for decades, especially after failing to make anyone his bitch with Daikatana.
2/10 for new info. 8/10 for reminding me of the days when vhs porn would have like a half hour of new content, and an hour of old shit.
Well i knew all of these things. So i get kinda irritated seeing the title.
I played Doom since the 90s and the originals will always be my favourite. I cant count how many times i played Doom 1 or Doom 2 user maps the past decades.
Yea, my favourite franchise, loved all the games with the doom title.
I remember getting the shareware version back when the game dropped and playing it constantly
@@Googaliemoogalie Yeah.
I try not to compare them because its impossible, i look at them objectively. 1-2 is, no doubt the best, and its still kicking!
I mean what old FPS is constantly so accessible, played online and always got more levels coming out. Incredible.
3 was a horror departure but had its good moments. Still very much a "old ID" type of game.
Doom 2016 and Eternal, the story is just a mess ( I swear they just made up a bunch of names on the spot for Eternal) but its a bold re-imagining, not my favourite but quality games still.
The direction that id software took with Doom 3, Rage, and a little of Doom 2016 is sad. Doom 3 is a terrible game, because of terrible gameplay, it is an fps in encased spaces where you cant maneuver, Rage is a fascists wet dream. Period. It sucks. And Doom 2016 gloryfying gore is overcompensating? i think. It is a good fun game but its not great.
