- Close-up, slow-motion photography reveals just how much lead a high pheasant needs, as Andy Crow goes shooting in Yorkshire on of the UK's specialist high-pheasant shoots, Upperwood Estate. It is a Jack Pyke day - and he is there to shoot the Jack Pyke catalogue, too. Expect banter.
Crow is shooting at the Upperwood Estate, which is on Facebook at / pheasant.dynasty
The day was organised by Jack Pyke http//www.jackpyke.co.uk

Why shoot game birds?
Game is wild, natural and free range, and it is one of the healthiest meats available today. It is low in cholesterol and high in protein. Results from research commissioned by the Game-to-Eat campaign (Leatherhead Food International Research 2006) suggest that there are real health benefits to eating game. Both pheasant and partridge contain high levels of iron, protein, vitamin B(6) and selenium, which helps to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.
In addition to the nutritional benefits of game, game shooting is worth £2 billion annually to the rural economy and supports 74,000 jobs. There are 480,000 (UK government figures) active game shooters in the UK who enjoy bird shooting under the principles of the Code of Good Shooting Practice.
More than 2 million hectares are actively managed for shooting in the UK creating proven (PACEC, 2014) conservation benefits and preserving important habitats for a diverse range of flora and fauna, in particular farmland birds. UK shooting providers spend £5.4 million on cover crop seeds every year and maintain over 25,000ha of wild-bird cover. - Sport

Are you using steel shot because the lead will poison the lake life
One word Impressive. 👍
Nice shooting. But, I am not sure if closing one eye when shooting moving targets is the best strategy! Shouldnt both eyes be open?
The bird at 10.50 is full pattern pillow case 👍
Hats off to your missus

Thanks for this. Yes - supermarkets sell them. / Charlie
someone on top of the hill letting them out the pen.
Cody dog wrong
First
Why are you doing this?
It’s called British tradition you yanks don’t understand
Questa non è caccia...... Non si avvicina nemmeno alla mia etica in materia.....
YOUR VIDS ARE GREAT BUT THE ANNOYING COMMERICAL INTERRUPTIONS MAKE THEM NOT WORTH WATCHING.
You call that pheasant hunting? come to South Dakota for some real pheasants.
It's not hunting it's pheasant shooting.
It's a shoot, not a hunt.
This is a driven shoot. Birds disturbed and flushed out the moors and forest. You can go and see them roaming free. We also have walked up shoots. You cannot claim real pheasant shooting is in South Dakota when we invented it. Idiot.
@@LW-gc1kw no they are released from the top of the hill.
@@plebbit theses are pen raised birds... relesed from the top of the hill.
