That car is really stunning. It literally looks like it was hermetically sealed for the past 57 years, and you just unsealed it and took this video. It isn’t just the condition of the car that is breathtaking, the original design is truly a masterpiece. Enjoy every moment with it.
wow. just wow. I can't even imagine what it cost or how long it took to restore this beauty. This is the car I have ALWAYS wanted since I was a kid. Either black or royal blue.
WOW! Soooo perfect! Love the Imperial! Pure class and elegance.
It doesn't get much better than this one and I love my 64 LeBaron. I bid on this but it sold for way beyond what I could afford. I had no business bidding on it in the first place but I couldn't resist.
Beautiful styling. My first model was this that I put together as a kid in the mid 60s.
Gorgeous car, exquisite leather interior, beautiful, clean understated styling. Like the day it came out of the factory! What a beauty!
I grew up in the back seats of a 1964 Imperial Crown and a 1971 Imperial LaBaron. I love these cars. This one is an excellant example of how a classy car is.
I had a 66 4 door hardtop Crown, it was sliver with silver cloth seats trimmed in black leather. I thought these model years were the best-looking of all Imperials. They were originally designed to compete with Cadillac and Lincoln but never sold as well. I can't understand why the Imperial didn't sell better than it did. In 1966 the Imperial was fitted with Chrysler's famous 440. The power, the handling, and the comfort was far better than Cadillac and Lincoln. The Imperial is beautiful and elegant. One of my favorite features of the 65 and 66 was exclusive headlights under glass, a typical Chrysler styling que. The glass had a gold line that framed the headlights. I was always thought that all Chrysler Corporation cars had the headlights installed with a slight angle that gave the cars a look that they were looking up at you in a cute yet confident way. That gave the cars a pleasant personality. I really loved my 66, I wish I still had it, which is what I say about all the cars I've owned. After all I wouldn't have owned them if I didn't feel that way. "To death do I part." Funny how I only feel that way about my cars. I've never felt that way about any human that I've known. These Imperials look like royalty in all black.
Elwood Engel is such an underrated stylist. He totally remade the American luxury sedan into his own personal vision
You can see the Lincoln touches in this car, he did the Lincoln and it worked out nicely
Lovely example. In 1965 my 9 year old head thought about anyone could own a Caddy, and our airline pilot neighbor did. But if you owned an Imperial, you were a tycoon. The only car above it, I thought, was the RR Silver Cloud. Thanks for posting.
That car commands respect.
To own this Imperial would be a dream come true. Absolutely stunning
This car should be in a museum. Absolutely gorgeous😊
Guy responsible for this Imperial's design was responsible for the equally elegant 61 Lincoln Continental. Elwood Engel, Chrysler's chief designer from 1961 to 1974.
And you can easily see it too. One of the better looking sedans for that time. Incidentally though, the French car company Facile Vega made a sedan called the Excellence that bared a striking resemblance to the Continental in many ways, with the same front wheel arche, C-pillar design and get this, suicide doors as well, AND it was a design that predates the Continental by three years so I'm thinking Elwood got his ideas from a French car that nobody in America even knew existed.

Stunning automobile. Love the color combination. Such style and elegance.
Artwork, pure automotive artwork!! Thank You
Got my license in a '66. Incredible cars, and I wish I could buy another one!
To say, "pristine", would be an understatement. One of my all-time Elwood Engel favorites. I drove at least 6 or 7 of these back in the late '70's. I was trying to find the right one as my first car. That was back when they were still considered a used car. But this one is the "Mrs. Drysdale" that I never found. Gorgeous in every way. I would only add the Imperial Performance Package, which included the dual snorkel air cleaner and dual exhausts for the 413.
Absolutely beautiful!! 1965 was the last year for the 413 engine.
I remember burning the rubber off of the right rear tire on my Mom's '65 New Yorker, 413
Beautiful design! Looks like it's moving forward when standing still!
Absolutely stunning automobile 😎👍🎩
Got to be one of the best examples period!
My very first car was a 64' imperial. It was the last year for the 413ci wedge and the bush button Trans. A few 413s went into some of the early 65s but they were mostly 440ci. I loved that car, it's still the one that got away.
I noticed the trunk lid doesn't open very wide, but Wow these beautys were really built well an luxury throughout adores these timeless classics of yesteryear! NICE!👍
An Imperial LeBaron. Nice. The Imperial Crown was the Green Hornet’s car, and you can’t hardly find ‘65 Imperials like this anymore because of that. And it’s built by Chrysler, but it ain’t a “Chrysler Imperial.”
Stunning!!
Gorgeous. They really wrung a lot of styling updates from the 1957 Forward Look platform.
Really stunning vehicle! I didn't realize the lock cylinder for the trunk was without that apron or whatever it's called, but it's perfect. If it were the other way it would be ugly. 😉
Gorgeous! Simple, clean lines, elegant.
Nice work. New paint, roof, carpet, mats. Looks showroom new.
My grandfather had one of these. It had a square steering wheel. I was little but I think it was a slightly later model. I’ve always wanted one. Maybe.
I still have a midnight blue one & I love it but I need to down size , l am getting older now. I got the car from my Dad. I am on Facebook. Love the video. Rand Whittemore in Houston, TX USA.
Top of the line Mopar for '65. This is the kind of car people would aspire to when they were climbing the ladder of success back in those days. I have a '65 Belvedere II 4 door sedan that my parents ordered new in April of that year. It's black and looks just like the Imp! [ not really! ] Great video by the way!
I took my drivers test age 16 in 1965 chrysler imperial 4 door just like this except it was a goldish color with brown vinyl top. In a rural mountanous town. The Drivers instructor at the local State Police station told me to make next left.... I did! It was the tiniest narrow alley. He laughed. He said oh my i meant the next larger street. You were correct however . It was a street! I went back and parallel parked it. I was 16 female and 5ft tall and weighed only 110 lbs. I had a cushion to sit on! It was to me like piloting a boat. My only other choice was a !959 Lincoln 4 door premier. I chose the imperial. The dual mufflers on th lincoln were "a rumbling" loudly! Great times. My dad liked his big facny cars. I also have a fondness for all things automotive. 8:05
Almost 60 years later and this car is still magnificent!
This car was designed with style, a luxury classic.
Toda una joya que vehículo tan bello
This video deserved better music, a classic beauty like this deserved something from it’s era!
@@jamesmcinnis208 I would have rather heard him start the engine and give a close up of the exhaust pipes chuggin away. Car enthusiast need to see this stuff.
I’m buying one as my daily driver soon. These were built to be driven through hell and back
What a very masculine look. !!!!!
Gorgeous classy car. The vinyl on the roof didnt look like the usual vinyl that we used to see on cars. The embossing looked different. Maybe it was the lighting or whatever. But it looked different. Great...but different.
Most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
What a beauty!!!! Wish it was mine!!!
Beautiful car.
Love the color combination.
Thanks for posting!
Well Done
I had a 64 Crown that was very nice but I was nowhere near this one. I have a 1970 Oldsmobile 98 convertible now that I would trade for this in a heartbeat.
Damn, this automobile is everything.
My Grandma’s neighbor Mr. Welsh own that exact car. I thought it was the classiest car I ever seen.
You should be playing classical music to go with this stunning classic beauty.
I watch the Beverly Hillbillies & the Drysdales have a beautiful Chrysler limo.
¡¡¡hermoso auto , gracias por mostrarlo!!
My favorite Imperial is the '67 and this is soo close! I wish it was for sale.
Beautiful car! Outstanding!
I think the best looking sedan ever made.
That is one sharp looking Imperial.
This is like a dream come true
This car is another American beauty. Imagine taking a long haul from say Chicago to San Francisco, using I 80 as your pathway. It would be fun, even if a bit boring.
That IS a nice car ! Absolutely beautiful !
Very nice car then and now
When cars had a personality and timeless Beauty this someone loved this car it's so nice would rather have this than any new car
Truly the pinnacle of American style, understated luxury, and engineering prowess…
Epitomizes everything that our Country produced, before the Federal government got involved to “fix” everything. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful. I feel like this era of Imperials were the closest thing to American Rolls-Royce, without neoclassical styling. The Mid-century modern luxury car.
added note: I owned a 65 triple black Crown Coupe Imperial.....see turned heads ....I feel 1965 was one of the sharpest designed Imperial....the Lebaron here is a time machine......awesome car
Wonderful car, is very beautiful 😎👍🏻♥️
Beautiful car. Look like the original Green Hornet car from the tv series.
Beautiful the original Black beauty. Best wishes
Why do I think of Milburne Drysdale when I see one of these?
Mrs. Drysdale for Possum Queen! Those were the magnetic signs on the side of this car in one episode of the Beverly Hillbillies. Epic!
A very good looking car. 1964 through 1966 were the best looking Imperials in my opinion. Sleek and sophisticated.
Beautiful car
That was one of the last truly elegant Chryslers.
@@glenndavidwhisler4131 ...I stand corrected. I meant one of the last truly elegant Imperials.
From every angle just stunning
the Green Hornet's Car..Black Beauty 🐝🐝
Stunning!
It's hard to envision a more majestic looking car.
Work of art
Stunning. Always liked these better than the Lincolns.
The only flaw with the 65 Lebarons was the removal of the Eagle on the C pillar. They put it right back on the 66.
What a magnificently elegant automobile!
beautiful car
Makes you think of the old TV show, The Green Hornet
An Incredibly Beauuuutiful Car!❤️
Off the chart stunning
What a beauty.
A clean, restrained, and very elegant design.
Absolutely beautiful, best cars by MoPar, Chrysler. I'll do anything just to get to drive and ride in one.
What a beauty! 🤗🤗🥰🥰😍😍
gorgeous !!
I think I've fallen in love. This car is gawjuss.
Imperial look so Awesome 😎👍
A true work of art !
When we were growing up in the 80's, the LeBaron was one of the biggest pieces of poop you could get. A rolling embarrassment.
This car, on the other hand, is pure coolness.
My dad rip had a nice 1979 le baron blue 2 door it was very good car
Goin' Green Hornet !!! 👀😍
Dear Santa...
BEAUTIFUL
Gostaria de ter vivido na época desses carros
Exquisite car but, Dude, let the camera linger awhile, don’t be in such a hurry! And it’s just “Imperial,” not “Chrysler Imperial.”
Your "Perfection on Wheels" is very photogenic, just like my Cabriolet topped DODGE MIRADA. No matter the angle, click, click, click! And then some.
Was this the base for the green hornet car?
At the very beginning I found myself thinkin’ Lincoln!
This car is just ridiculously beautiful, I can't even think of any other way to describe it🔥🔥
