KDE neon is a rapidly updated software repository. Most users will want to use the packages built from released software which make up our User Edition.
KDE contributors and testers can use the packages built from KDE Git in the Testing and Unstable Editions. It uses the foundation of the latest Ubuntu LTS (20.04).
It's a package archive with the latest KDE software on top of a stable base. While we have installable images, unlike full Linux distributions we're only interested in KDE software. KDE neon will provide users with more up-to-date packages of Qt and cutting-edge KDE software.
We use Ubuntu as a base for KDE neon because the KDE neon team feels it offers the best technology as a stable release and the best third party support. The KDE neon team is familiar with Ubuntu having worked with it for over a decade. We also feel that Ubuntu users will miss out if they do not have up to date KDE software. It is otherwise unrelated to the Ubuntu project or Canonical.

Hi,when i try to install, it's doesn't install, its just show me a error "installation faild" boost.python error in job "unpackfs"
Doesn't need an 8MB partition for EFI.
The installer requires 300MB with /boot/efi mount point and flagged as boot.
I just installed the latest KDE Neon now, alongside Win 11 with partition manually.
Just for anyone who watches this video and looks in the comments this is true. I just installed KDE Neon 5.26. I thought I'd leave a reply since two comments saying the same thing sounds better than one. More reassurance.
On my machine the EFI partition is 128MB. Even with Linux and Windows 11 installed, still have 50MB free.
@@arcticheroh If you have a moment to clarify (since the UX options in 5,26 differ from this video.. I should be creating 3 partitions in:
1) A partition marked as "Bios/Grub" of 300mb, also marked as "Boot". (What's the mount point? Unformatted or ext4?)
2) A partition marked "Swap" that is the same size as the amount of RAM I have on my machine (I assume no mount for this?)
3) The remainder of free space as ext4, marked as root. (mount point? marked as anything else?)
Once this is done, do I select any of these as where I want to install the OS? Currently I have these three created without any mount points, and the "Next" button is greyed out.
I wish each time a new version was released that the KDE team would create their own assets walking through each type of installation ;)
@@sh0 In response to:
1) A partition marked as "Bios/Grub" of 300mb, also marked as "Boot". (What's the mount point? Unformatted or ext4?)
the mount point is /boot/efi and it should be fat32 (EFI only supports fat filesystem)
Ok, I can't read any of those screens at all.
how do yo switch to Dark Theme immediately?
Boost.Python error in job "unpack"
Yes .
Bro installation failed the installer failed to create a new partition table on wdc
The only solution is to reboot and do it once again.
