Those Scotch connectors WILL cause you grief in the wet, grimy environment of the motorcycle….learn to solder and use heat shrink. Or, learn the hard way like I did!
I know this is old, but I will post it anyway. The absolute best way to stop hyper flash is to wire your original bulbs in the same fashion as a resistor. It costs you nothing, and it the perfect resistance. Just tape up the bulbs to prevent light leaks. You can even adjust the speed of the flash by altering the wattage of the bulb. Cheers!
@@Partsam no prob! I went through the same thing myself, had to use 2 resistors on each side to get the flash to work properly, but had no place to mount them without melting anything cuz the resistors get so hot. Then the idea popped into my head to use the og bulbs…they don’t get hot at all 😊
@@thachification I’m not sure. I didn’t wire in the resistors because there was no room on my bike to put them that wouldn’t be close to something it could burn, so I just used the bulbs, and they only get slightly warm when operating, no where near “hot”
If the front light is flicker, please just add one pair of the resistors to front light. There is no need to add resistors to back ones if they do not have hyper flash.
You have to install 1 load resister to EACH LED bulb that you replace to prevent hyperflash. For example, if you only upgrade the two front turn signals to LED bulbs then you will need two load resistors. Leave the rear alone. If you upgrade 2 turn signals in the front and the 2 in the rear (total 4 LED bulbs) then you will need to add load resistors to the rear connectors as well.
So I have a motorcycle with aftermarket turn signals which is 4 I have two Sylvania load resistors do both of them need to be connected to all four or just two turn signals to stop the hyper flashing

I been really looking for a way how to isolate turning light from brake lights, when the vehicle uses the same bulbs . I have some led's amber lights to install as extra for turning ONLY , and these can be hooked to the turn signal but when I push the brakes these ambers lit too . do you have any idea how to do or how to hook them up properly ? please !! thank you
Waldem Mir Buy some power diodes and run them In series with your leds. The diode has to run in a certain direction and it will only allow the brake current to go to brakes and not your led. Try diode in either direction until you get what you want to achieve ( you won’t cause any harm ).
@@sandspritpark Search “1N4004” as an example . 1N4004 is a rectifier diode with the maximum current carrying capacity 1A and it withstand peaks up to 30A. When you search you will see the image of the item which is a component with two ends . The power goes in one end and comes out the other . It only allows the current to go one way . If you put it around the wrong way , current doesn’t come out . Sort of like a one way valve for your car 12 volt power .

Hello Chris, I'm so sorry to hearing that. You can use a 12V DC power supply to confirm the 3 wires of the tail light, which one is connected to the negative pole of the power supply, which one is high light, and which one is low light. then you may could solve your problem. Thank you.
I checked all the wires & installed the resistor. I made sure the brake light, tail light & turn signal worked...and it did (all in the same bulb). Then I installed the LED bulb. Only the brake light & turn signal worked. I flipped the bulb around and the only the parking light would work. Hmmm? Any ideas/suggestion? Thanks!
in fact, our part is universal. you can install them at any light position which supported 12V power source, but you need confirm how much resistor you request, so, you need test the current of your light in advance, and here is specifications: Power: 25W Resistance: 8 ohm Voltage: DC 12V And if your light need a 8ohm resistor, however, if you could not make sure of that, this part will not solve your light issue, please understand Any else we can help, please let us know
Partsam AnthonyJ350 It turned out to be that I had to cut the brake/signal & ground wires going into the harness. Then connected the brake/signal wire to the ground wire going into the harness & connect the ground wire to the brake/signal wire going into the harness. Bizarre to me...but it worked! Much thanks to my brother-in-law for figuring that out!!!!

Please test if the lamp has the same issue at 12v battery, if so it means the lamp is defective, you maybe need a replacement. If not, a resistor should help you solve this issue.
If the lamp is “blowing” it could mean you have either a dead ground=black wire is grounding intermittently. OR Your Red Power wire is grounding or is loose and is finding a ground. Water, loose connections, or bad connection
You have a fault. Are you touching the glass with your fingers? Putting a resistor in parallel (how video shows)will not lower voltage. This just "loads the line". You must add resistors in series (cut one wire and add in resistor) for it to lower voltage but you probably don't have a voltage problem if only one bulb is blowing. You have a poor connection (rapidly connecting and disconnecting) or maybe a vibration problem that is shaking out the hot filament.
The blinker/flasher “relay” on many new bikes is not a separate unit but is a solid state circuit within the ECU! Don’t waste your time looking for this “relay” like I DID!!! Major Problemo.
For your problem, we suggest you test the current and voltage of your light, which means you need to find which resistor your light request, because the one that is 6ohm 50W, if it could not solve your flash issue, We think your light does not request this type resistor Anyway, For a better assistance, what's your vehicle details including Year/Make/Model/Sub model/Door/Trim/Engine, please? we will try to help you find if we have the other resistor for you as the replacement
I have 2015 chevy impala i installed led strobe brake lights and they are hyper flashing the front and back do i need two resistors or just one to stop hyper flashing all around

Sorry to know that, please check if your lamp is work normally at 12v battery. Also our resistor is 6ohm resistor, if they still can not solve this issue you maybe your lamp need a big ohm resistor, hope that helps.

I am sorry to have to say this, but this is not a very good (or safe) way to fix "hyper - fast" turn signal flashing. While the problem with this sort of turn signal flashing IS caused by the change in resistive loads when LED bulbs or fixtures are installed in your turn signal/emergency flasher circuit, it is caused by the type of flasher relay that your car is equipped with, NOT the leds being installed! Up until recently, turn signal relays were designed to rely on the current drawn from the bulbs in the turn signal circuit to show when a bulb had failed by changing the flash rate. With the advent of LED lighting, older model turn signal relays sensed the lower current used by a LED device as being a failed bulb. A fix now exists for this problem - electronic turn signal relays that are not affected by current changes. The fix also allows you to use filament bulbs while eliminating the "fast flash" effect even on filament bulbs Using them eliminates the "fast flash - bulb failure" feature - but it also creates an incredibly easy and safe way to convert to LEDs in the turn signal circuit by simply plugging a new turn signal relay designed for LED lights! Here is how to find and buy the right relay for your vehicle: The most common electronic flasher relays available for older vehicles is the three-prong Tridon/Novita EP35 3-prong ISO (International Standards Organization) or the Tridon/Novita EP34 3-prong JSO (Japan Standards Organization) flasher relay. The only difference between the EP34 and the EP35 is the fact that the power pins on are reversed (ISO vs JSO types) making it very important to determine which one is used on your vehicle. Here is a simple rule of thumb - ISO for American and some European vehicles, JSO for Japanese vehicles. THe relay replacement works great I used Novita LM487 Flasher off Amazon on '03 Tahoe;but BCM controls the flashing on gmt900 trucks (07-13) so the resistor is your only solution. The Body Control Module performs the funtion of controlling hyperBlink current sensing. Try finding a flasher relay for these trucks, you wont ... I verified this on AllData schematics.
I installed LED signals at the rear of my bike, with stock on front and 2 resistors connected at the rear side. The rear and front worked no problem, once I connected the front LED's, all I get them turned on Amber but no flash. I just ordered a relay and I'm confused about if the relay is needed along with resistors, or can it replace resistors entirely.. hmm
Great advice for those that are confused & dont know how 2 properly install a potential fire hazard resistor wasting $ on 2/4/6 resistors when u can buy the electronic flasher for a fraction of the price ure sure 2 pay for just 1 pair of Sylvanias. Lighting control modules will undergo a bypass function by tracing wires & connecting the new relay flasher which controls all the turn/stop lamps. Testing is highly recommended so u get it right the 1st time & dont overload the relays wattage capacity if u have a bunch of high powered leds installed. Be safe & let there be blinding light upon the road ahead.

NO- Light bulbs do not have polarity!! its just a filament...ground one bulb terminal to the body,probe with a wire attached to theother bulb terminal, when you hot 12v +, the bulb will light. Buy a cheap test light at any autoparts store.

@Alex Waters "Alright, alright!" (^_^) That is actually a proprietary name: 'Scotchlok' by 3M but my point was to NOT call them "chips" as in electronic chips. They can also be called wire splice connectors.
One per BLINKING lamp\bulb. Typically autos have 4. 2 front 2 rear. Each is its own circuit in parallel wiring. This is done so if you have 2 on the rear which are also brakes. They don’t BOTH burn out.

The black is mostly always the ground right? And other colors has its parts like blue is brake/running parking and red is turn.

If connect resistor to parking wire instead of turn signal wire, without testing, wouldn't the resistor not work when turn signal is activated?

So we assume all the wires going to the socket aren't cut so we just splice the resistor to the black ground wire and blue brake wire .

You NEED a resistor for EACH LED that acts as a turn signal. So if you installed 4 you need a load resistor on each one!

Is water resistance tolerable? For example, in rainy conditions? I wonder how it is installed behind the lighthouse runs that risk. Or is it harmless?
it is not water resistance tolerable. However this item will be installed inside the car, so no need to worry about rainy days.
If water gets in there, you may have a leak.
Doesn't explain how to do this with a base that's currently wired to the car.

It is Switchback bulb that's why 2 colors yellow (turn signal) white (daytime running lights)
Why wouldn't you simply replace the turn signal relay with one designed for a lesser load? 12 bucks and a one time only install.

Can you use 3m tape to hold the resistor somewhere?

Using them eliminates the "fast flash - bulb failure" feature - but it also creates an incredibly easy and safe way to convert to LEDs in the turn signal circuit by simply plugging a new turn signal relay designed for LED lights!
Here is how to find and buy the right relay for your vehicle:
The most common electronic flasher relays available for older vehicles is the three-prong Tridon/Novita EP35 3-prong ISO (International Standards Organization) or the Tridon/Novita EP34 3-prong JSO (Japan Standards Organization) flasher relay. The only difference between the EP34 and the EP35 is the fact that the power pins on are reversed (ISO vs JSO types) making it very important to determine which one is used on your vehicle. Here is a simple rule of thumb - ISO for American and some European vehicles, JSO for Japanese vehicles. Other electronic flasher types may exist for vehicles that do not use the fairly-common 3-prong flasher relay. you'll have to do your own research to find them.
Avoid excessive heat, possible fires and the bother of modding your vehicle. Use an electronic flasher relay.
You can purchase either of these relays (depending on your vehicle's design specifications) at most auto parts stores. O'Reilly and NAPA carry them. Be SURE you have the right version! Using the wrong one will destroy it when first used. Using the part number or information on the side of the device will help determine which turn signal to buy.
THe relay replacement works great I used Novita LM487 Flasher off Amazon on '03 Tahoe;but BCM controls the flashing on gmt900 trucks (07-13) so the resistor is your only solution. The Body Control Module performs the funtion of controlling hyperBlink current sensing. Try finding a flasher relay for these trucks, you wont ... I verified this on AllData schematics.
I installed LED signals at the rear of my bike, with stock on front and 2 resistors connected at the rear side. The rear and front worked no problem, once I connected the front LED's, all I get them turned on Amber but no flash. I just ordered a relay and I'm confused about if the relay is needed along with resistors, or can it replace resistors entirely.. hmm
Great advice for those that are confused & dont know how 2 properly install a potential fire hazard resistor wasting $ on 2/4/6 resistors when u can buy the electronic flasher for a fraction of the price ure sure 2 pay for just 1 pair of Sylvanias.
Lighting control modules will undergo a bypass function by tracing wires & connecting the new relay flasher which controls all the turn/stop lamps.
Testing is highly recommended so u get it right the 1st time & dont overload the relays wattage capacity if u have a bunch of high powered leds installed.
Be safe & let there be blinding light upon the road ahead.
Flashers don't work with newer Jeep Wranglers.

You can try to use a led lamp marked + and - to test it.
NO- Light bulbs do not have polarity!! its just a filament...ground one bulb terminal to the body,probe with a wire attached to theother bulb terminal, when you hot 12v +, the bulb will light. Buy a cheap test light at any autoparts store.

one end of resistor for postive wire, another end for ground wire.
Same way in that case no blue wire only red and black ....

Would have been a thousand times more useful if it was showing the installation on an actual vehicle,,,,SUCKS... !!
My Audi has 6 wires. Wish it was this easy. I understand the install but I have multi color wires (5) and 1 black...
So use a multimeter to determine which wire is your ground and which is the signal live.

One per BLINKING lamp\bulb. Typically autos have 4. 2 front 2 rear. Each is its own circuit in parallel wiring. This is done so if you have 2 on the rear which are also brakes. They don’t BOTH burn out.
Don't ever use those horrible spliced connectors, ask me why?

@@Command37 What I mean is a flasher with a amperage change would be easier than putting in load resistors on every light.I don't think anyone has come up with that solution for this problem.I did install load resistors on every light on my 2007 350Z with LED bulbs.Someone that could design that flasher could make some good money!
Total wrong,you connected that up without connecting to indicator or stop and tail light.plus what year you in to be using a block connector,talk about fire hazard.do not use or do that way.solder the wires together and shrink rap making water proof .your a joke if your going to do videos please don't bodge do it right from the start.

The resistance is hot, I don't recommend it. If you are toyota or Lexus, you can replace the led turn signal relay to solve the problem.
It's not that simple . You need Tee taps to do it these type of connectors will not work because you do not have a cut end going to the bulb base.
LED bulbs glow and dim light fast, so no problem with hyper flash. This huge resistor is wasting energy.
