      Everybody loses their fastball someday. I still think Dave is entertaining and a great frontman. He moves better at 65 than these so-called "frontmen" of today who are 30 years old. But I agree, his scream in the old days was bone shattering.

    16:59 - Dave rules. He's letting out the wicked screams all through this jam...sounds like Halford. Sheesh. :)
    The whole section starting at 16:20 is killer. Dave and Eddie are doing some wild shit. The whole bass intro on this track dispels any notion Anthony was learning bass lines from Eddie. Eddie couldn't even deal with key changes. Anthony dumbed his playing down to the max to to cater to Eddie. His early work in the demo days showed he was a formidable bass player...hardly sitting on the root. Eddie couldn't get off the root note most of the time. He still kicks ass, but he's talking some seriously wack shit in that Billboard interview. He thinks he was doing Quincy Jones favors...uh....no. ;)

    Fucking Lost Control!! Not sure why people want to compare, Eddie with Randy Rhoads?? After listening to this, I come to realize that Randy couldn't carry Eddies Guitar Case.

      After seeing both live within a years time in 80-81....I'd say you are clueless. Randy was easily on par, if not the next progressive step above.

    sounds like there is another guitarist playing with Eddie (there is rhythm behind the solos)

      just Michael Anthony laying down some nice bass chords

    • @HrhFish

      I concur Jack. It's Bass and Drums backing. There are some keyboards (Fender Rhodes I think) in And the cradle will rock. That may be what Chuck is referring to.

    • @Jedizen07
      @Jedizen07 Před 6 lety +2

      " Cradle. . . " had Michael performing on the keys while Eddie handled the guitar. Also, Eddie brought his echoplex with him which was set to a longer delay rate to " fill the space " behind the solos. This is the band in its peak. Of all of the boots I've heard, this one and several of the '78 and '81 shows are AMAZING. These guys were on top of the world then and you can really hear it from this show.

    Saw them on the VH2 tour and was incredible. I then saw them on this tour at the Newcastle show and was no where near as good and i hated the WACF album....bought the album about 10 years after this for the collection, as at the time there were allot of better albums about but the live show was good.
