This is super cool, what an awesome idea. There’s something really refreshing about this take on horror.
Scientifically Accurate Dinos mixed with realistic settings sound like an absolute nightmare. I don't know WHICH folk have said the accurate ones wouldn't be scary, that kind of thing is EQUALLY terrifying to think about.
yeah
Kinda reminds me of the chimera ants from hunter x hunter
I do agree but you must admit, with good hard work put into the design inaccurate ones can definitely be as scary
Absolutely! I am so glad I was able to experience this in real time on Twitter (dog man shenanigans included), so seeing someone use the eerieness and strangeness of accurate dinosaurs like this is fantastic! Big props to Arche on that, so damn based
@@demosuarusyt3227 Nope, most inaccurate dinosaurs look dumb, just look at shit like 65 that tries so hard to make them scary.
The last dinosaur is definitely a T-Rex, their "roars" are believed to be low frequency vibrations that aren't heard very well by human ears
I was thinking the same thing that sound is terrifying
If not a rex, then some other Tyrannosaurid.
Yeah definitely. Plus, not many animals can bite a dromeasaur into pieces like that.

@@quasarshindyalexiscp9714Cause they're dead?
The fact that the raptor is speaking like a freaking crow mimicking humans speech is so awesome to me
kinda sounds like Gabriels whispering from TMC tbh
It sounds like it's saying "help me" which implies SEVERAL horrific things.
it also sounds like its saying "cant.. breathe..." like the raptor (im guessing something like a utahraptor since its big) impaled this victims lungs or gnashed out its throat, copying this victims dying words
I thought it said hot dogs at one point lol... Wait.
ok
14:38 Think I hear,
"Are you hungry?", "You want a hot- yes, yes."
Think this was the last words said by the boy, and now the monster is mimicking him.
All i heard is, Are you hungry
It was Mimicking the little boy. Especially the are you hungry? Because the little boy was feeding them. It's funny how you said you heard the word hot. The boy was feeding them hot dogs.
Worst part is, it probably didn't know what the words meant. Only that it was said in a friendly tone, and it was probably trying to mimick it only because it didn't know that the words meant something specific.
One of my favorite ideas is the idea that Dinosaurs may have been able to mimic voices.
Given how similar we know they are to birds...and we know parrots and even ravens/crows can mimic human speach...
It's not to hard to imagine a dromaesaur doing the same.
Just picture walking alone at night. You hear a human like voice wailing. You run to go assist only to find a gigantic bird monster ready to pounce at you.
Hear is what I heard while listening, “hey you, hung-ry, hey, are you, Help, help me” and that actually scared me to the point I was tearing up and it was mind fucking me up
I think the thing that unnerved me the most was how the ‘wrong voice’ sounds like it’s trying mimic the words “Are you hungry?” something the dead kid probably said moments before their death.
The implication that the poor kid was being kind to the dino before the dino killed them is so heartbreaking
I heard "Are you hungry? You want hot dog?"

Hey
@@VelociraptorWithInternet Oh hey, buddy. It's me, Qianzhousaurus. We are both from China, we were besties, remember?
Paleohorror that isn't directly trying to copy from Jurassic Park (*cough* 65) is a severely untapped subgenre, there is so much that can be done with our modern understanding of dinosaurs that can build up great slowburn horror.
The Dromaeosaurs being intelligent, persistent, and studious hunters basically trapping people in their homes is so freaking scary, but also the fact that they are still behaving like *Animals* is another contributor--Screaming monsters that suicidally throw themselves at prey a la Jurassic World are formulaic and easy to predict. These dinosaurs are cautious and planning, making it hard to pin down what they might do.
100/10, inject this type of content directly into my veins.
Also since I am a massive dinosaur nerd I feel the need to list the probable identities of each animal:
Big Bird/Window Monster = DMuted already popped that bubble but it's definitely a Dromaeosaurid. Given the size it's likely Utahraptor.
Small Bird Monsters = This is a bit harder to tell. Definitely something Paravian, potentially fledgling dromaeosaurs? However the drawings showing them flying could pen them as something like Archaeopteryx?
Wing Monster = Almost definitely a Pterosaur. The "spindly" description is a dead ringer for an Azhdarchid pterosaur specifically.
Bat Monster = Another pterosaur, specifically an Anurognathid. Basically a feathery frog with bat wings, they're adorable.
Crest Monster = This is hard to say solely from the picture. The size if the crest makes me want to guess some kind of Tapejarid pterosaur, like Tupandactylus?
Window Monster's Killer = The deep vocalizations and being able to shatter deer antlers as well as kill the very big dromaeosaurs makes me want to think it could be a Tyrannosaurid of some kind.
EDIT: Catching up on the thread and Archesuchus' media tab, the Crest Monster is confirmed as Thalassodromeus (a Tapejarid) and there is definitely a Tyrannosaur in this story.
My knowledge of dinosaurs is a little rusty, but that does sound very close to what I was thinking (admittedly not as specific as your theories).
Honestly if this was to be adapted into a screenplay would they even need that big a budget for the monster effects? I’m sure to make some convincing and accurate dromeosaur suits and puppets you could coast by at under 1 million dollars. Especially if you hide the imperfections with clever lighting and camerawork.
yeah!
@@matthewmitchell5636 The small bird monsters are probably small dromaeosaurids, and the crest monster is CERTAINLY a Tupandactylus, Tapejara was too small and the color of the crest marches with the melanossomes found in the crest of the real Tupandactylus.

Dino/Animal/Monster IDs for those who want to know:
- the Window Monster is a large Dromeosaurid, possibly Dakotaraptor or something similar (EDIT: I've recently learned that the original mask is supposed to be a Troodontid, probably one of the larger ones from Alaska that might not have a proper name yet)
- The "small mutant birds" might be the actual babies of the Window Monsters, as they seem too small to be adult Velociraptors (actually roughly turkey-sized) or even adult Troodontids or Compys
- Crest Monster is most likely some variety of Tapejarid pterosaur (they had big weird crests likely for display), and it most likely didn't do anything to the neighbors, it's just taking advantage of the situation to hide inside their patio
- the Lanky Thing on the Roof might've been some kind of Azhdarchid pterosaur (which were basically carnivorous giraffe-storks, the largest & most famous member of their family being Quetzalcoatlus, though this one is likely a much smaller species)
- the small Bat Monster on the screen door is definitely an Anurognathid pterosaur (which were small & fluffy with big eyes, very cute & round)
- the thing that killed one of the Window Monsters and makes the rumblings that silence even the insects is a Tyrannosaurid, more specifically a Zhuchengtyrannus (which was significantly smaller than T. rex but still big enough to eat you in 1 or 2 bites); it shows up in person later in the thread.
I haven't checked the thread yet to confirm If this was a tyrannosaurid, but could it have been a ceratopsian? With their beaks, I could see one taking Off the head of a dromie. Tyrannosaur is still more likely, but hey, could be.
Also, I suspect the tapejarid to be a thalassodromeus or related animal. The crest shape matches Up, and they were terrestrial and large enough to likely go after humans too
@@novastein9567 It's actually Tupandactylus, Thalassodromeus was a carnivore and the shape of the crest was different, it certainly would have attacked Archeosuchus, Tupandacylus was frugivore, the crest shape matches and the color of the crest matches with the color discovered on the fossils of these pterosaurs. Also, neither were terrestrial pterosaurs.
it would have to be one small azhdarchid for it to A not be seen on the roof photo (as it was said to have never left) and B not cause at least a little bit more damages to the roof
(yes i kno there are smaller azhdarchids but i find that to be at bit unlikely so i think it might jus be something like a pteranodon or something generic like that)
@@tabithamonetathchi9386 It was in that photo; if you look in just the right spot, you can see the light being reflected back in a pair of eyes. Plus, Azhdarchids were rather famous for their tall & lanky builds.
damn, you made this whole thing a lot more interesting even if it already was
14:20 The creature imitating saying "are you hungry" is brilliant because that's probably what the little kid said to it when he brought it food before he got eaten.
If he can make dromaeosaurs this scary… imagine what he can do with sauropods.
Or sauropods
@@TinySortSpyd3r Thats what he just said
Or Spinosaurus
Or a tyrannosaur.
Sauropods are almost never depicted as being scary, and it’s a shame. Primal is the only thing that I can think of, and that episode was honestly a brilliant piece of horror media.
The Utahraptor mimicking human speech is definitely an adaptation it developed and also is probably a convergent evolution of Parrots or the Lyre bird which is a bird that can mimic a wide variety of sounds from car alarms, phone ring tones, and yes even human speech (though it's not perfect it's eerily similar)
Also Dmuted the thing that sounds like a whale or plane . . .that could be a Tyrannosaurus Rex

The low-droning sound monster is probably a T-Rex. Most recent research suggests that T-Rexes didn’t roar like in the movies but made more of a humming noise
Just to give you an idea of what exactly that rumbling dinosaur that’s been eating the “window monsters” is, you gotta know, there is a certain species of dinosaurs that’s been reported to make a rumbling noise in real life, it’s a certain tyrant lizard king.

Not gonna lie, when I first happened upon the "creature at the back door" post, I thought that shit was an emu 😂

@@andrewcrowley6331 Agreed! Sharks are cute to me, but you best believe I'd be shitting bricks if one was coming at me in the water. Same thing for accurate dinos! Puffy feathers don't mean I forgot all those teeth 😨
I happen to be a huge dino fan, so I'ma try and identify the creatures featured. The "Window Monster" is a type of dromaeosaur, a family of dinos consisting of raptors, and a bunch others. In fact, the other dino, the smaller ones, at least to me, seem to be a raptor known as microraptors. Now, the other "dinos," actually aren't dinosaurs, they're flying reptiles, pterosaurs. The "Wing Monster" is definitely the one on the roof, but I don't know what it is. The "Bat Monster" seems to be an anurognathus. I know that's not really helpful and pretty obvious but felt like saying it. Also I'm happy you brought this to my attention, I'm so happy that someone is utilizing dinosaurs for horror.
I assumed the smaller ones were just velociraptors, what do you think the crest thing is?
@@pogcastclips7878 I could only assume the crest thing is also the pterosaur on the roof, "Wing Monster." Most medium to large sized pterosaurs have large crests like that one, so unless there are more pterosaurs than the bat monster and wing monster, wing monster is the same as that one. If I had to make a guess it might be a member of the tapejaridae family.
@@thefish2020I believe it's confirmed to be a Thalassodromeus. The wing monster is speculated to be an azhdarchid (I think the tapejarids like Thalassodromeus are thought to be close relatives of the azhdarchids or part of that group but I am referring to azhdarchids like Quetzalcoatlus and Arambourgania)
If you mean the black smaller one in the thumbnail than I could definitely see Microraptor, but the ones from earlier have colouration that doesn't match the known one for Microraptor.
@@trilobite3120 Yes I definitely need to be more specific next time, I too believe the thumbnail one is a microraptor, but I don’t know what the other ones could be. Also thank you for correcting me on the “Wing Monster” thing. Love that the one on the porch is a thalassodromeus, thank you for informing me of that.
Honestly it was fucking GENIUS of arch to have the dromaeosaurids vocalizing and mimicking humans as it's something modern day therapod dinosaurs can do (Corvids and Parrots) it's so neat.
The best part about watching these posts come out is all the blue checks saying "its a hoax guys" as if some people were thinking it was actually real
As a person who used to be a dinosaur nerd, when he started showing the little mutant bird (which is actually what a scientifically accurate velociraptor would look like) i went insane.

I was super excited hearing you talk about this series. I’ve been a huge fan of dinosaurs since I was a literal baby, and finally seeing a good dinosaur horror series made my day. One thing I love is the accuracy of the creatures. From the raptors being nocturnal to them having similar behavior to that of birds adds a sense of realism to the threats, and that makes me love this series the most.
i’ve watched and followed along to ARGs with a lot of disturbing audio and visuals, but i don’t think i’ve ever felt so unnerved by something other than the “wrong talking”. the whispering and hissing of “are you hungry? yes, yes” which are presumably the last words of a child before being completely torn apart- it genuinely gave me chills even though i’m watching this in broad daylight.
I can imagine how scary a found footage movie like this would be? It would be terrifying! Dinosaurs dont need to roar or be loud and aggressive to be scary. Hope you make more videos about this thread.
theres one of a T rex spotting a guy and breaking through his window, it def could be better though
HOLY SHIT BRO I’M MUTUALS WITH THIS GUY I NEVER EXPECTED YOU TO COVER HIS STORY
Ok but the fact this scared me in a recap/going over video is wild i could barely look at the screen when pics of the dinos were just staring at archie thru the windows were up
A list of species I think are present in the series:
1. Big Birds - clearly a large dromaeosaur, the exact species isn't given but my guess is that it could be Utahraptor. No completely solid guesses yet (note that Arche could have confirmed its species, and I just haven't seen that post yet).
2. Flying blue monsters - appear to be two species of pterosaurs. One small and a species of Azhdarchid. No clear looks at them or their species have been seen yet.
3. Small furry creature - Judging from the looks, it appears to be an Anurognathus.
4. Roof Monster - This could be either a pterosaur or a different species of theropod. Unsure since no clear look was given and the only detail we got was spindly.
5. Bat-like screen door monster - Definitely an Anurognathus, no question about that.
6. Crest monster that trashed the Neighbor's porch - Thanks to that massive crest I believe that it could be a Tapejara.
7. Monster that killed a Big Bird - Not seen but considering how all animals go completely silent, it's highly suggested to be a large predator. (Note that Arche has implied it could be a Tyrannosaurus rex or other large theropod in its weight group).
8. Large shadow monster that chased Arche - This species has been confirmed by Arche to be a Zhuchengtyrannus.
9. Monster that was breathing on the window - A sauropod! I don't know how big Arche's house is supposed to be, but I am pretty sure that could be a Titanosaur. Rather its younger specimen or a smaller species is yet to be seen.
10. Dead monster in a tree - Appears to be a smaller dromaeosaur, could be a younger Big Bird or smaller dromeosaur species.
11. Monsters with glowing eyes - Probably small carnivores that function in large mobs or groups.
12. Flashing & glowing lights that sink badly - Could be rips in time or time-based anomalies that are bringing dinosaurs into the modern world. However, they could also created by a living thing or are living things themselves which could be purposefully placing these extinct animals in our time. No clear explanation has been given yet.
13. Small slightly friendly black bird-like monster / Mikey - Appears to be a Microraptor.
14. Monsters with glowing eyes that live in the ceiling - Most likely the same creatures as the Monsters with glowing eyes.
15. Small skittish bird monsters - Putting this last since they appear to be multiple species filling the same role. Appear to be a mixture of small theropods, baby / juvenile carnivores, & primitive birds.
Here's to hoping we see more dinosaurs and other creatures done by Archesuches because this series is pretty great. I hope that we can see other large carnivores (mainly my favorites Tyrannosaurus rex and Spinosaurus).
The crested monster is most likely a Tupandactylus, since they are known to have had a red crest and they were big, unlike Tapejara, which was a fraction of the size of the crested monster.
There’s a Spinosaurus in this?
It’s too small to be a utahraptor I think it’s a deinonychus
This right here just keeps making me more excited for my own horror series
Have you got something planned? I'd love to hear about it.

Please make a part 2 in the future. Arch is a fantastic paleoartist and his stuff is extremely accurate to the real animals. This story is continuing as we speak and I've followed them for years!
Pls man, keep on covering this thread, the newer posts are just 10/10 HORROR, IT GIVES ME CHILLS, especially when the mimicking gets better.
Also, Arche did come up with a name for this (as you might know but the comment section not), its now called Weird Birds if I'm not wrong
I’ve always wanted to see unique and scientifically accurate dinosaur horror. But now I am by myself after midnight and very much regretting my wish. Thanks to Arch for this absolutely insane art project!
this is such a cool analog horror premise, done way better imo than the jurassic park one's actually done. if the park wasn't on an island i can 100% see this playing out after the power failed or something.
AYY thanks for covering my pals horror thread!
its been so awesome watching him blow up overnight, finally getting the credit for his work that he deserves.
How funny that I end up finding this after watching a completely different video on dinosaur horror. This one works really well and I love that the creator is trying to make these dinosaurs (and non-dinosaurs) as scientifically accurate as possible. Really shows how you don't need to make a dinosaur scaly to make it scary. Lastly, a theory I have (and I'm 100% sure I'm not the first to think this) is that the dinosaur that killed one of the raptors and made that deep noise was a tyrannosaur. I'm looking forward to seeing more developments from this. (even though I refuse to back to twitter)
14:59 the speech (evidence for this is from the other video made on this awesome little series) here is from the kid feeding them. Poor kid definitely got devoured by the big ones.
Btw - the scrawled out writing says "I like to feed them" on the drawing with more of the monsters. The "like to" is squished up in the winged monsters in the sky.
What's great about the talking is the idea that maybe a raptor could mimic a human's vocals the same way as a modern bird like a parrot does. Except when a parrot does it, it's cute. When something does it to try and trick and predate upon you, it's terrifying. There was something similar in a novel called The Flock, in which surviving terror birds could do the same thing.
Dunno if someone’s already mentioned this but my absolute favorite Twitter horror thread story is definitely The Sun Vanished. That shit was soooooo good. Tho, the amount of people that thought it was stupid and fake was mind numbing. Like, no shit.
The first audio actually scared the heck out of me, because I could only hear it out my right ear and it sound like it was coming outside my window. I had to rewind multiple times to make sure it was coming from this video.
Good job on the audios, Archie-!
The "talking" reminds me of how some big cats have been documented imitating the sounds of baby monkeys to attract prey.
And crows.
There has been a few horror threads like this almost like the Daisy one and The Sun is Missing. It’s kinda cool to see this almost like a world is kinda being shown through Twitter.

I really like this series so far, even though I feel like it jumped the gun in some parts. Mainly referring to the Kid's foot and the decapitated Window Watcher head.
I think the part with the kid's foot could have been replaced with the remains of a local pet, and a piece of the collar found in the pellet.
And instead of the decapitated head, I'd use like a piece of wing or a foot or something.
17:27 ok this was creepy, after the noise the crickets that i keep for my tarantula and bearded dragon stopped chirping after they would not shut up the entire day......
I like the fact that, even before the child's drawing, the very first image shows there's another of the initial dinos, as you can see the reflection of light in it's eyes just a little to the right of the more obviously visible creature's face.
The not-human sounds sound like they're trying to say 'Are you hungry?' and maybe 'help' and 'stop it'. I think it's imitating the moments the neighbour kid was feeding it (and got eaten).
Also those long, drawn out sounds suggest something big. I once read that big dinosaurs like Trex would have made sounds so low you could moreso feel than hear them. Maybe that's why it sounds almost like deep breathing, because the breathing is at a frequency we can hear.
If there was one thing, I wasn’t expecting to see on the channel, it’s covering dinosaurs and paleo. I’m not complaining though.
Please do cover more after another good chunk of this nightmarish adventure continues, love this coverage!
18:07 this seems like the noises emus make when they are angry but super low. Going off the dinosaurs are related to birds thing, it could make sence
I really hope jurassic goes down a route like this one day. especially since fallen kingdom and dominion where dinosaurs are just around the world now, it has so much potential for smaller more personal horror situations where humans encounter dinosaurs.
"Hey, over, here,"
"I, am, hungry"
And I think it was trying to repeat the second line but couldn't say "-gry" and sounded like it ws laughing
It was mimicking. the boy. It said, are you hungry? You want a hot Dog It was the last thing the boy said.

Dude, I know that... by the second picture the kid drew.
I only made that comment incase if someone couldn't hear what was being said
God where’s the ARC team when you need them. Scariest dinosaur media I think I’ve ever witnessed, very awesome! hope they continue it.
the dinosaur props and the audio are really well made this guy has some talent
19:40 Hmmm, Velociraptors
Of all the things to be covered by a horror channel, this was absolutely the last thing I expected
It's been so fun watching this unfold on twitter after it showed up on my feed randomly I think only a couple posts into the story.
That vocalization is so creepy. I could only really make out the words "Hungry" and "Yeah." I wonder how Arch made the effect, it sounds like a legitimate bird is making the sounds but it could've been just him mixing samples of his voice with bird sounds. Whatever it really is, it sure is creepy. I think scientifically up to date dinosaurs bring a new kind of primal I'm being watched kind of horror and I love that there's creators making this kind of stuff.

"Oh! Hey! Is that Kevin?"
Dinosaur horror? So cool! I was obsessed (and I do mean obsessed) with paleontology as a kid. I would say that kid me would be thrilled, but I was so easily frightened back then that I probably would’ve ended up with nightmares, lol
I was hoping somebody would cover this Twitter thread! It’s so good!
See, I wish we got cool perspectives like this in Jurassic World. Give us the actual horror elements of a story and world like this and it'd be SO COOL.
Always good to see new horror stories posted in unexpected ways. Haven’t seen one like this since The Sun Vanished.
I'm gonna be surprised if anyone DIDN'T figure out it was about dinosaurs before the end of the video
I've seen enough furry suits to understand that the 'raptor head' is a mask. Love the story though!
This is actually amazing, ive seen some animations using the same type of modern dinosaur horror but this isactually someone i wanna read as a book or even as it is now
i think the reason crickets stopped chirping while the louder vocalizations happened is because its some type of tyrannosaur making the sounds and its theorized that their vocalizations were extremely loud and could partially paralyze other animals!
Actually, JP's raptors are based on Deinonychus not Utahraptor (Utahraptor wasn't named until after Jurassic Park had released).
Let's all just take a minute to be grateful that we don't live in this universe.
I've been wanting a horror series with scientifically accurate dinosaurs for YEARS now and it looks like this thread gives me exactly what I've been wanting! Love all the attention to detail!
If I had to take a guess as to what the dinosaur making the low rumbly noise was, I'd say it's likely a T. Rex or some other large therapod, as we've found that they likely made incredibly low vocalizations similar to those of cassowaries. In other words, this guy's probably screwed!
As a dinosaur nerd, dinosaurs are one of my favorite genres, and also the protagonists of my recurrent nightmares of me trying to hide from them.
Now this is the type of horror for me.
I absolutely love dinosaurs, and I loved every second of this video
Let it be known that anyone who claims that anatomically/physically accurate dinosaurs aren't scary is absolutely out of their mind. This stuff is more terrifying than Jurassic Park's sad excuses for dinosaurs.
Also, t-rexes would not be our biggest concerns because we're just too small for them to consider us to be a worthy meal. Raptors? Now that's more concerning....
God, the "wrong talking" gave me the fucking chills. lol Well done, @Archesuchus ...
This is quite entertaining and well made, i'm here for creepypastas irl to get people riled up haha
