- ESSENCE - Only For You
The Essence formed in 1984 and hail from Rotterdam in The Netherlands. The band signed to Midnight Music after a year of live shows in their native Holland, and in 1985 released their debut 12" single "Endless Lakes" and their first full-length album, "Purity".
After the release of "Nothing Lasts Forever" in 1991, the band went through a period of transition until the release of "Glow" in 1995. Hans Diener remains the only founding member of the band still active

It is so The Cure... it is almost unbelievable. The aesthetics, the feeling, the look, the voice, the guitars, everything... But so good you cant blame them...

That is exactly correct, in fact, there is a riff in the beginning that is totally New order love vigilantes riff and the voice, well, that's indisputable,. This singer has clearly been influenced by Robert Smith

The Essence is such a great band, so many great songs from this group and truly never received the recognition they so richly deserved.. I still have this band on so many playlists.. Nice addition and nice mix.
Reminds me The Cure (In Between Days) and this makes me so happy

Yo creo que todas las bandas tienen un referente o influencias de otros artistas, y aunque soy un fan de The Cure, tengo que reconocer que esta banda es a mi entender una gran banda y chico, que culpa tiene el vocalista de que su voz se parezca a la de Robert Smith, para mi es una vendición.
Me encanta el sonido y las canciones de The Essence.
Aunque la música es hermosa, creo que es una falta tremenda de originalidad. Los movimientos de Robert Smith, la voz, las expresiones, el cabello ... un imitador (copycat). The Cure continúa ... en cuanto a The Essence, nunca más se supo de ellos desde 1996. Creo que surgieron cuando Robert Smith afirmó que The Cure se rompería pronto y asumieron este papel de manera más convincente en 1988 cuando The Cure lanzó el álbum Disintegration.
