It seems every hitting story eventually leads to… and then there is Tony Gwynn…
8:52 what a remarkable thing to be able to accomplish
I was telling a baseball buddy about this hitter and he didn't think he would break .400
No chance that he hits .400, but I hope he gives it a run.
Interesting conversation. When I was young many baseball experts in Japan were saying that eventually hitters would dominate pitchers because hitters can literally take hundred of practice swings everyday but pitchers could only throw a finite number of pitches. I'm not sure if experts in the US were saying similar things.
Cool coming back to this now that Luis is a Padre!!😊
I loved going to padre games and watching him hit.
TG19 the best clutch hitter of all time...SD luvs you forever #5.5hole
What Smoltz said. That reminds me of the World Series between the the brewers who led the Majors in HR. And the cardinals who led the league in hitting. Who won the World Series. The cardinals. And yes. The Brewers were an American League team back in the day 1982 word series
Only one Tony Gwyn! RIP 🙏
Would love to hear what John thinks about tricked-up radar guns that register 6-8 mph more than the Juggs and Ray guns of the 1990's.
I think Gwynn or Boggs actually did it over 162 games from June to June or something.
no not in todays mlb
in 2022 yes, just take the damn bunt hit
