Patricia Arquette slayed that role. Her performance was incredible. One of my favorite shows of the year.
She really did. Wow. Just watched the show and I'm sure it's one of the best I've ever seen.
Arquette nailed that character - I didn’t even know it was her until after the first episode. I liked what she said here about how actresses are always expected to bring the “empathy” - because male directors still believe that women are the conduit to “feelings.”
Just watched the Joyce "Tilly" Mitchell interview with Matt Lauer and I couldn't believe Joyce wasn't Patricia Arquette. Lol
Patricia Arquette is brilliant!!!!!!!
I started watching this because I was curious how they were going to portray the escape. I was instantly grabbed by Patricia's performance in the very first scene. She is definitely the star of this show.
Everybody is beyond convincing. Eric Lange and Benicio Del Toro did such well crafted performances to the tee, not to mention Paul Dano. Not a weak link in the cast.
She is such an underrated actress love you Patricia
She is AMAZING in Escape at Dannemorra !
she's awesome! she's up for a Golden Globe for this role......she has won a lot of awards so I wouldn't say underrated- I think everyone knows how talented she is- this show is incredible!!!! she is amazing omg
Jeannie McCarthy
Hilarious. Understated or unknown. you couldn’t name one movie or award without Google. Enough. Her sister maybe.
Under rated, how? She's always getting nominated for awards and won an Oscar
@@rob_3417 and today a SAG
Patricia’s career is bigger than ever I’m happy for her. Her acting is stellar
The Arquette's are great actors and my guy Benecio is a beast too! I am so glad they made this and when I saw Ben on the credits I was like wow!
Ben Stiller is a production genius - he got the best work out of some great actors in ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA !
These top notch actors would have done great work WITHOUT Ben Stiller, just saying. There is something about Stiller that feels sticky and damp like great Aunt Fannie's basement.
@@CradleEpiscopalian56 stiller did a fantastic job on this I’m not sure why you’re trying to discredit that
her transformation was incredible, deserves a GG, and an Emmy
This series has amazing acting. Paul Dano is Sweat , he played the very stoic brother in Little miss sunshine. He's terrific.
I’m watching it for the third time. Great telling of a true story. Great acting and directing
Since the first time I saw True Romance back in the early nineties, Patricia has been my dream girl....still is. She will always be #1 for me.
That is so relatable my dude
Ben stiller doing great work
one of the only things he's done that has even a modicum of depth & weight, sorry, not a fan; find him phony & pretentious though he does seem to have grown artistically or whatever one calls it.
Marc Salzman well you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about
Bonnie Hunt is also exceptional in this series too
Good job investigating the facts before putting this on screen. Thank you.
I've liked Patricia since her role in True Romance
What an AMAZING!!!!! Show!!!!! 2 Episodes in!!! And my mouth is down to the Floor!!! Me & Hubby are lovinggggg it!!!!!!! ✊✊✊✊

I luv Patricia Arquette. Miss seeing her. She is very good in this.
Michele Bartlett
You loved her in what ????? Hilarious
I would love see when they had casting for this serie,Patricia is great!!!😻😻
The state of New York spent about 23 million dollars hunting them down before there capture. They almost got away with it. He will now spend the rest of his life in solidarity confinement because of his escape. It is amazing that no one was killed while they were on the run.
FORGET BEN STILLER!!! Patricia Arquette is AMAZING in her portrayal of this Joyce woman. EDIT: Joyce "Tilly" Mitchell.
And a director has nothing to do with that?
This is an all-around brilliant show and craft great job everyone!
I hope this series comes out on DVD. I could watch it 1000 times. A masterpiece!! I looked forward to watching it every week, so sad it had to end. Would love to visit the city now. Escape at Dannemora rocks!

I WAS WORKING FOR FEDEX EXPRESS IN PLATTSBURGH, NY AT THE TIME AND REMEMBER THIS WELL. THEY HAD HALF THE ROADS CLOSED IN OUR AREA AND WE GOT SOOOOO MANY COMPLAINT CALLS BECAUSE WE COULDN'T DELIVER PACKAGES.
Everyone is so good in this so far!!
Such a great show!!! I'm on the last episode and to me episode 5 and 6 really cemented this awesome movie/show
Hands down one of the best tvshows Ive seen in years and what and incredible comeback for Arquette, wow. And what a premiere for Ben Stiller as a creator of "Heavy drama". Blown away.
Best series I've seen for years. Excellent actors, e.g. actors for Lyle, Inmate Sweat and also Tilly and the inmate Matt.
Patricia killed it!
Amazing series...everyone did a fantastic job.
I wish there were more episodes ! I loved this show and it was soooo accurate
Ben is a real piece of work.
One of the most underrated actresses, she was outstanding in "Boardwalk Empire" as well.
Just found out about this series had to start watching it right away bc of the cast and Im so impressed. The acting is so freaking good of all of the cast and in general the vibe is spot on realistic and dark. Watched 3 episodes in a row and cant wait to continue!
Just one thing for future media. Inmates call out for officers as "Hey CO" meaning Correctional Officers. The honest hard working officers deserve the respect of being called Correctional Officers not "Guards" The corrupt prison staff who taint the image of the honest staff are tainting our image. Just food for thought. The series is great and as much as it may hurt we need the truth to come out. We cannot just bury our heads in the sand and pretend these things don't happen.
Agreed
True Prison Stories by Gary York
Hilarious.. Your a Bunch of Misfits that barely got there GED. Enough !
Lucky you get called C.O
@@silkcustoms520 Learn the difference between their and there, and you're and your before you criticize CO's, LOL!! Are you a former inmate, by chance??...
It’s fabulous!!!
Patricia - amazing and Ben's direction was brilliant.
Patricia is the soul of this interview. Ben Stiller seems so serious and imagine having those interviewers leaning in like that. Ahh it's missing subtle background music and a centerpiece.
I've been in love with Patricia ever since True Romance. Such an incredible actress, and still hot :)
I saw episode one. I do not want to go to prison. Scared straight surprised how good The show is did not recognize Patricia. Wow I will watch the whole series. A friend of mine just murdered someone Friday too bad for him he will be prison bound. I believe in doing right and live clean. Never been to prison never want to go not even to see Johnny Cash. But the show is a eye-opener for me so sad.
Is this Lyle?
Shawshank Redemption Revisited
I had watched a few and I was like where have I seen this chick my son looks at me and says ain’t that the chick from the movie holes ? I was like damn
Joyce kinda sounds like Taylor swift tryna do an accent
Her best performance is by far "True Romance". She is stunning in that movie.
I adore Patricia Arquette ❤️
What an amazing actress. She really captured the character
Brilliant series...patricia is an incredible actress
Love Patricia Arquette so much. Great great actress ❤ Watched all the seasons of Medium , fell in love with the Dubois's family.
Her face is so beautiful , so emotional , to me the best actress in US with Michelle Pfeiffer
Im crushing on her after watching 3 eps
Love you, you beautiful human being. I love that acting, is secondary to being a human being to you.
( insert lame humor here for people with 1/10 her acting chops )
I HATE that you haven't been rewarded properly for BOTH. You are an amazing actress but more importantly, you're a beautiful person Patricia.
huge amount of humanitairian work she's done. In Haiti, for Katrina, etc
Damn I wish I was that anchors 16yr old stepson🤣
Love the shoe have it recorded watch it when ever I want to order the book read it. I was said that Matt, was shot but I still love the show😎
Wow 23 million dollar cost to taxpayers. Wonder if showtime is giving any back? I'm guessing no
Patricia rocks in "Escape...". She's got a non-Hollywood image. But she is amazing, talented and still beautiful. She's kind of woman that I'd like to spend my whole life...
Ben let Patricia talk. Lol
Great actress!!
Eye opening about eradicating poverty by scaling up women's salaries.
Thank you for spoil the party here with telling us how the story ends, whit killing and capturing both. Perfect.
You'd have to be living under a rock to not know how this story ends
@@perriello66 sure, living in Europe is "under the rock" for so glorified US people...
I came here after watching the first episode. I didn't realise it was based on a true story. So I was disappointed to be told the outcome of the story. I wasn't expecting that. The first episode was so good,I just thought I would see what Patricia Arquette looked like these days out of the makeup department. I was not disappointed at all at that I am pleased to say. She looks lovely as always.
Here in the Uk this story never got any coverage as far as I am aware. Not sure I would say we are living under a rock though, just a lot of grey skies, and brexit doom and gloom news everyday.
I will watch the rest of the series as the acting is great, but I am gutted to know what happens.
Marko Stor Same here!!!!!
Patricia Arquette. Best actress ever.
Living 20 mins from the prison, I liked how they used the actual area when filming...I don't necessarily agree with how they portrayed the community, but the acting was ok, she went a little over the top with the accent...
A Nightmare On Elm Street 3
Is Ting's name still all over on almost every business?
I don't subscribe to Pat's assertion on the reduction of US poverty w equal pay, she is a great actress.
Patricia is always "Alabama" for me... Great as "Tilly" to, of course!
Why did they meet sweat a killer , but not tilly?
Showtime is a division of CBS and this female hostess gets the name of the series wrong in the outro. Cut her pay!
Correctional officer, not guards. Guards work malls.
tilly portrayed by Patricia Arquette
How hard can it be eating 40 1bs worth of cream cakes for your next movie role.
Del Toro the Best 😁
I am _trying_ to watch this show as I love Patricia Arquette and Benicio del Toro but it is almost painful to watch. It is SO slow. Perhaps, that is Stiller's intent, which makes sense , to make the viewer feel the incredible of mundaneness of prison life but uhhhh...I don't thinik I can lose anymore time to it.. Just...painful.
How fast should a WEEKLY SERIES on Showtime be? DVR each episode so you can you can utilize the Fast/Forward option.
Not slow at all. What show are you watching? It's griping. At times funny. Fascinating.
@@elenasuzanne1681 I think she's getting tired of waiting for robots or zombies to appear.
The scenes were really realistic and gross
Clueless inerviewers...nobody mentions that these two great actors starred as man and wife in the one of the most biting, brilliant screwball comedy classics, "Flirting with Disaster."
I thought she was 'Medium'.... Looks more like 'Extra Large' to me.
wont be surprise if these two hook up
HUH? she has a partner.
Woman and men work different jobs. Why is this so lost on people?
I never heard of patricia till now watching the act she an amazing actress she did a good job playing deedee from The Act
Is this the same broad
From A Nightmare On Elm Street III????
Alabama Whirley
"Fat little thing..." Ben Stiller fat shaming a person. What a good man Ben is raking in all those coins from stupid people. I'm sure the shekelman understands humanity....2:11
Way to mansplain, Ben.

Bonnie Hunt is the best part of this show.
So basically she ate food and didn't wear makeup.. really hard thing to do.. smh
useless comment. Actors have a craft and she nailed it. More than any makeup. You are missing out that you cannot tell t he difference and enjoy it.
That’s a “thumbs down” for you.
You’re missing the point. She did whatever it took to completely become that character. She did the same thing for “The Act”. I didn’t recognize her.
I wonder how many actresses would allow themselves to get “uglyed-up” for a part. She wasn’t afraid to “let it all hang out”.
It shows how egoless she is. I respect the hell out of that. Great actress!
I’ve been a huge fan since “True Romance”.
The constant explicit sex scenes were primary in this show. Really bad directing. Stiller is terrible at this. Boring, long winded show.
