Does the phone still charge faster then it uses up power. If so, then it could be charged while gaming

I just got this but I'm new to Xbox and PS gaming. Do I need the game pass to be able to play games on the phone?

No, you don't, but this is designed to play Xbox Game Pass games on your phone much easier than using touch controls.

I tried to use it in a few different games, but it won't work in any. And I can launch the xbox games I have on my phone either. I can move through the main screen of my phone with it so it's definitely connected fine.
I'm going to set up my PS5 later and see if I have more luck with that one, I must be doing something wrong.
