+EvanNova95 I read this story. YAY. I am not an avid reader of the expanded universe but i do enjoy learning more about it. I was a fan of the games and stories even the ones i didn't necessarily read myself. so i wasn't as greatly affected by the fact that the writers would no longer consider it cannon because I didn't really view it as much more than it's own universe. 100% agree with your philosophy. For example, I mostly stick to elements of the EU but I'm all in favor of Palpatine converting the Jedi Temple into the imperial palace.
I simply cannot express with the appropaite words just how much of an INCREDIBLE version of Darth Maul's death and the end of his eternal rivalry with Kenobi. Even though Rebels did 'imitate' this to a certain point, i just find this one version so much better.
I really try to combine the Legends and Canon. For example, the rise of the First Order is happening after the Yuuzhan Vong war, the Abeloth Crisis and the Swarm war
funny how this story is being mirrored in season 3 of Rebels. Well, as of this posting, the first 2 episodes of season 3 that is. At least, it's hinting that it may go in this direction.
Thus far it has revealed that Maul has found out that Obi Wan is still alive, and likely knows where he is. He also seems to have been worked into a frenzy for finding about it, so they may very well bring about interpreting this into the final encounter between Obi Wan and Maul.
That is such a good story, I hadn't heard of it until watching this video, but it is great! I feel like it really completes Obi-wan as a character by giving him one final hurrah as a Jedi warrior, and it gives a fitting conclusion for Maul himself. The way that it is written makes it feel like Maul is a constant struggle that has haunted Obi-wan's life, and I feel like that moment of inner conflict for Kenobi was really interesting.

First off, it is wonderful to see you post once more. As a fellow EU fan, I respect your work and as such I do hope we can see more content in the coming year. I really love Old Wounds. While it does a lot to develop Lars, I like it because it further showcases why I love Obi-Wan Kenobi. Even on the precipice of killing Maul(and potentially going to the Dark side), his moral conviction to not kill Maul showcases why in my view he's the epitome of the Jedi. I'd want to emphasize this latter part for we as fans tend to forget that LucasFilm sees Star Wars as a means to make profit. As such, it is imperative that we get into their mindset. But I digress. Great video as always and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
An excellent summary. Your view on wither something is "canon" or not shouldn't effect your enjoyment is a very profound and mature one, and is something that I am rather disappointed that apparent many people lack.
You make a lot of good points in this video. I am a bit ashamed and embarrassed that my post on Jensaarai1's video caused such a firestorm. At any rate, thanks for making this video, you have given me a new perspective to look at the whole EU situation.
This was an amazing video. I'm still amazed at all the effort you put into every video and how much you think about every topic in your video. Great job man!
Even I love your view on this pretty sensitive subject it puts in to perspective what Star Wars or any series is all about , it's not about what is classed as true or fake (cannon) but it's how you as the viewer enjoys what being presented as entertainment in relation to the story that we know and love . Love your channel keep up the amazing content
I bow my head in recognition and agreement (The bow of a Jedi Apprentice to his master). While I was introduced to Star Wars through the films, it was you and the other videomakers that made me the Star Wars fan I am today. In this video, you expressed the view that, in my opinion, ALL Star Wars fans should have. It is not whether or not the story is Canon, it is whether or not you like it. I have only read a single Star Wars novel (Shatterpoint), and I loved it. I really don't understand why you aren't Grand Master of the Council. Looking forward to season 6.
Bravo, Evan. I have got a "campaign" set in 73 ABY that depended on the EU playing out. My players were all like "what about the Eu now being "legends". I made much the same point you did, not any near as eloquently, however. Very well stated. Thank-you. Dante.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your words here are what I tell everyone who complains about the EU or states "that it doesn't matter anymore because it's not canon" I am always the one to say that Canon is what you make of it and I'm glad that someone else thinks so as well. You get like 500 thumbs up from me.
You know, Evan, it's kind of hilarious how many people in the comments seem to have totally missed your point with this video. Asking whether or not this video is canon, or talking about how they wished the old EU was canon still. Anywho, you did a fantastic job with this one, Evan! Definitely my favorite R&R from you so far. I couldn't agree more with your views on this piece. Something doesn't have to be canon for it to be extremely enjoyable, and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. Also, I loved your little comment about how Darth Maul simply isn't as good as he thinks he is (Or as many fans think he is, for that matter). It's a viewpoint I've always maintained, and one that's earned me quite a lot of disrespect over the years, but I've always stood by it. That's not to say I underrate Maul, of course. However, like you, I see him for what he is. An effective tool used by Sidious, that was never meant to be one of the greats of his era. I have a lot of respect for the fact that you just came right out and stated it the way you did. Keep up the good work, man. Looking forward to your next video.
With a little imagination, this story could easily have been integrated into the original EU material, it's only 16 years before star wars: a new hope, a very long time, who knows what was happening during that time frame...
Wow what a great video! You totally right Evan, It couldn't of been said any better! the Star Wars universe shouldn't be judged by whether or not it's officially Canon, it always should be mind canon! Thanks for the video mate, Old Wounds is one of my favourites!
I like how Darth Maul finally met his end. That's kinda how I'd see it playing out. This goes with Lars character and how he basically wanted to keep Luke away from the Jedi and their problems.
I agree with you 100%. I would like to say one thing on the topic of Maul's purpose. Sidious said that line about Maul when speaking to Darth Plagueis. Towards the end of the novel when Sidious was killing Plagueis, his gesture and words were basically telling Plagueis that Maul, had he survived, would be trained as a Sith following Plagueis's death. I believe he only said he would be an assassin just so Plagueis would have peace of mind, which was ultimately his downfall. Sidious wasn't planning to take Anakin as an apprentice until after he destroyed the Trade Federation's space station, and Maul's then presumed death. Had Maul lived, I think he would have been trained as a Sith under Dooku, so Sidious could lay even farther in the shadows to exploit the Rule of 2 that the Jedi seem to know about. Just my opinion though. Great video nonetheless, however.
Dooku wasn't even on Sidious list at the time, in the same book you see Sidious starting to push and see if could get Dooku after Maul death, Dooku more than likely would've been in a Vintress role, not really a Sith, but a Dark Jedi who left the order to help form the Separatists.
I totally agree with you, I don’t care what Disney or lucasfilm say what’s Cannon and what’s not, Star Wars is yours to do what you like with it. But don’t think of me as a hater of what Disney has done with Star Wars since they bought it. the last Jedi and solo had some small aspects that I enjoyed but I do not dislike them just because they are new Star Wars stories, it is the fault of the creators making poor decisions I really like the force awakens, I really like rebels, I really like rogue one, and I don’t care if someone else tries to tell me otherwise or change my mind, because it doesn’t matter what some random group of people thinks about the things you like.... The only opinions that should matter are yours and the people you know best.
Evannova95 I just can't tell you how much seeing a video like this means to me. I always heard of Old Wounds and even seen snippets of it, but this video let me see it in all its glory for the first time. Back when you did your first Q and A video, when you mention the part about the EU being rebooted (and now especially this inspirational video) it helped me more then you can possibly know with the so called "Legends" EU. Evannova95 I just need to ask one question: How many times are you going to blow us all away with videos like this? I have to bring a parachute with me to my computer because your videos blow me away with your knowledge every time. I really hope the new year brings you and the Council many blessings. Thanks for doing the videos that you do because its just a great way to explore the galaxy far far away. Thank you for being a shining example of someone who loves doing what they do. :)
I don't let the retconning of the star wars expanded universe effect how I enjoy it; the old stories I prefer to read though, not the new canon save for the new movies, even though they suck; I have yet to get the visionaries graphic novel but this story and the one featuring general grievous at the end are my favorites in this book; I really love how Maul looks here, such as the cybernetic legs and the grown crownlike horns, he's never looked so badass ever...
I loved this. Good story and good narration. Keep up the great work! I look forward to your videos and find your and Jesaaria to be two of the best among the Star Wars versus series and other related videos.
I liked that event. This short story was somehow reminding in a sense, because Kenobi would probably have been at peace to see that Maul was dead. He killed Qui - Gon and Duchess Satine Kryze. Though, Maul felt the same pain when Savage was stabbed. You're very good for using Kingdom Hearts 2 music :) Sanctuary all the way!
Great story! OK! Enough! I just subscribed! Found your channel from your lightsaber colour and meaning video. Because of your vids and those of GreyJedi91 I started to get more interested in the Star Wars universe and its lesser known stories! Recently started to read some of the comics like, Purge, Jedi (Aayla Sacura, Shaak Ti,...) Rogue Squadron, Legacy and I very much enjoy them! Can you recommend some novels and something about the battles against the Yuuzhan Vong, cause I dont really know what to look for! Dont read to many books unless the story grabs me by the throat and makes me read the hole thing in the shortest amount of time. I mostly red Warhammer 40k novels. Thanks for the awesome vids.
Great video man. I would like to thank you for what you said about Old Wounds, the EU and non canon stories in general I never thought about it this way but this video has really caused me to rethink my feelings on all the retconing going on as with most people I was very angry but thanks to this video I think I will be able to accept it so thank you for the new out look :]
+Tommy Cahill I know that and I enjoy both adaptations of Maul. I don't know if I agree that Maul is done better in TCW and son of Dathomir than in this but that's just me
+Tommy Cahill To me Maul is not about the dialogue but about his presence. He also came off as a brute who simply knows how to hurt people on the inside as apposed to being truly "cunning." Also it didn't feel like he had any loyalty left to Sidious when I watched the episodes nor would I expect him to after what had happened to him. I also think that it makes much more sense to me that he would end up as an insane lunatic rather than what he is in TCW admittedly he does start like that in the show but he is promptly changed into his angry and insecure self that he exists as for the rest of his aperences so far. Final I have know opinion on which Maul is better because I don't care enough about Maul I was never arguing whether Old Wounds Maul or TCW Maul is better :/
This is quite the video you've made. Plus, I agree with you on several points. For Character Profile videos, might I suggest these guys: 1. Ferus Olin 2. Xanatos 3. Revan 4. Admiral Thrawn For more Recap and Retrospectives, here are some good short stories that may interest you: 1. "End Game" by James Luceno 2. _In his Image_ and _A Two-Edged Sword_ by Karen Traviss 3. _First Blood_ by Christie Golden
Awesome retrospective man. I kind of wish if they do make an Obi-Wan Kenobi Spin Off movie they incorporate Old Wounds in there. It's such an awesome story that I would love to see on screen. Now that Maul was actually resurrected they could totally do it. And now they have even more beef with each other.
In Your Point of View of Owen Lars Being Strict To Luke and How He Doesn't Want Luke To Be Around Force Sensitive Beings Like Obi-Wan Is Exactly How I Feel, I Believe The Reason Why Owen Is Strict To Luke in Episode 4 Is Cause He Knew What Anakin Skywalker Had Became and How Frightening Anakin Was Regarding The Death of His Mothers, In The Hands Of Tusken Raiders, And As You Have Said In This How He In Person Sees How Dangerous and Yet How Powerful Force Sensitive Beings Are Capable Of And All He Wanted To Do Was To Keep Luke Safe, That Is Like Any Other Parent Would Do, And Yes Even If This Classic Comic Book Is Non Canon, That Doesn't Mean That It Is Not Enjoyable To Read I Mean I Still Read The Star Wars Legacy And That Series Is Non Canon Either I Loved The Story The Character's And How It Makes Us Star Wars Fan Enjoy The Franchise, Regardless What Author, Company's Like Walt Disney Pictures or Even Lucas Arts Says, These Stories Make The Franchise Even MORE Interesting, More Enjoyable Heck Even Makes Us Make OC'S, Fan fictional Stories Based on This Franchise, and Yes The Old Wounds Comics Proves THIS Point, I Understand As A Star Wars Fan Myself I See That This Comic Book Explains How Deadly and How Effective The Past Can Do To Us, In My Opinion Star Wars The Old Wounds Is By Far The Greatest Comic Book There Is.
A great video. I agree with you and think with any large franchise every fan has to pick and choose what they like from it and enjoy it. I do find it frustrating sometimes but this type of continuity conflict is inevitable.
Sceptile Tube so after that episode and maul saying his alive...you are not suspect it being obi wan? i just said they doing old wounds because it was done in 2005 prior to clone wars...and now if you look at the concept art for his saber and then his saber in rebels its the same...i think this is how they are going to end Maul, his still in the trailer yes which leads me to believe they would save this story for the end of the season or perhaps a new season altogether
To be truthful, I think Old Wounds is Canon, but I think some different things occurred. 1.) Maul fled to Mustafar after Son of Dathomir, and witnessed Anakin vs Obi-Wan. Then Maul stowed away and witnessed the birth of Luke and Leia, and was aware of Vader's existence. 2.) He intended to go to Tatooine to kill Obi-Wan, kidnap Luke and raise him as an apprentice to finally kill Palpatine/Sidious and Vader. 3.) He did fight Obi-Wan, but he had his cybernetic legs from Son of Dathomir as well as his Darksaber rather than a saberstaff. 4.) Obi-Wan defeated Maul after taking a severe beating from the Sith Lord, and when Obi-Wan decides to spare Maul, Maul rose up and challenged him, resulting in Obi-Wan killing Maul the way he did General Grievous: with a blaster. 5.) Upon Maul's death, Obi-Wan has visions of Qui-Gon Jinn and Duchess Satine Kryze, and feels at peace knowing Maul is dead because of how he killed people Obi-Wan cared deeply for.
+OverSizedMidget He means its his idea of what happened. Evan just said that canon is what we as fans make of it. Officially, yes, Maul will be in rebels, but this is just one fan's version of the story.
very good video Evan plays on our emotions on whats Conan and non -conan now because for me personally i loved the EU so much in star wars and then its just Non-canon anymore.
Couldn't agree more. Disregard the title Legends. There was no disclaimer when I was throwing money at Lucas Studios that stated, " thanks for supporting our works, but btw...this stuff might not matter if we're purchased by another company...but thx for your dough" As far as im concerned, if it were not for all of the legions of EU fans buying the games, comics, toys and things that we took as cannon. Star Wars wouldn't have been deemed a profitable enough endeavor to make Force Awakens. So EU IS Star Wars
Evan please do another Q & A sometime, would love to hear yor thoughts on the new movie and more! Love all tour videos (especially the longer ones). Much love 😎
Maybe the events of this comic can still play out in some way in the new canon. What if in Star Wars Rebels, at some point, Darth Maul makes a return (we know he's alive because of the Son of Dathomir comic) and he goes searching for Obi-Wan in order to get his revenge, and then eventually finds him on Tattooine. There, the two decide to finally settle things once and for all and fight to the death in the desert in a similar manner in the comic, and events possibly play out in the same way as the comic, and Maul is killed. It would make for a great episode of Rebels, though I'm not really sure how they would be able to fit that plotline in since it isn't really relevant to what's going on with any of the main cast of characters. Perhaps they visit could Tattooine at some point and encounter Ben, and then it happens? It sounds like something that has the potential to be awesome.
the recent Rebels episode that shows a version of Maul vs Kenobi for the final time even references this story. Kenobi refers to Mauls presence as and "Old Wound"
actually this story might still fit in continuity, even after Clone Wars was made the primary canon. Thing is Maul survived the events of that series in another comic. The current rule on the EU is that if it doesn't contradict current canon in movies then it will fit unless something comes along that contradicts it. Some stories will fit and others sadly won't, just the way it always was. Keep in mind we had comics which depicted Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker as separate individuals before Empire Strikes Back was released for example.
Something like this could happen again since Darth Maul escaped in the Son of Dathomir. Maybe Darth Maul might appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. Or maybe Kenobi might have some adventure that makes him realizes that he needs to go to exile.
Old Wounds is a great story. I totally agree that we should like what we wish. Canon really only exists to show how Disney is going to go further. It doesn't erase all the good EU material.
Hey EvanNova95, great video. Little unrelated, but where would you put Kyp Durron, Kyle Katarn, Kam Solusar and Corran Horn in your Council member Tiers?
+kartrix1 Kyle Katarn = Tier 1.5 (He's the Dooku of his era) Kam Solusar = Tier 3 Corran Horn = Tier 3 (He has Tier 2 Saber Skills and Tactical Prowess, but he is brought low by his force abilities) Kyp Durron = Tier 3 (He has Tier 2 Force Abilities but he is brought down by his saber skills and tactical prowess)
Interesting, I would've thought Kyp Durron to be at Tier 2 due to his powerful TK, not as refined as the others imo, but still powerful. Corran Horn makes sense; great lightsaber skills, but weak TK. Afraid I haven't paid as much attention to Solusar as I perhaps should have so no opinion. Also what is the disparity between Luke's lightsaber skills and all of these people's. I always imagined them to be on pretty much the same level, but Durron being slightly below all the others. Sorry for all the questions, but Luke's first generation of students had always interested me and you seem to be a big fan of this era also.
With maul showing up in rebels and the design of maul in TCW I wonder if the writers intend to make this story part of the new canon, or at least retell the story anew.
revenge is the prime ingredient to the fountain of youth, darth maul kept him self alive for many years with a steady diet of jealousy and hate hoping that he can finally destroy obi won and gain his masters respect once again
Such a great video - I agree with most of what you are saying and understand your view or star wars, however to me personally with these stories not being cannon all they seem to be are just that, stories. I understand completely that the cannon changed and most of the ideas for cannon stuff come from the EU however I feel you have take it as it is just fan fiction made at a high level. P.S. I know I will probably get a lot of hate for this, but it is just my opinion at the end of the day feel free to leave yours underneath :)
Well. I grew in a country in which EU products were hard to come by. In fact where it not for a booklet released by a news paper from my country of Origin, I would have learned about the EU at a much later time. While about the old EU I have things I like and things that I don't, I think that Star Wars as a fictional universe is so large that you can make your own canon, simple as that. Instead of debating of what was right or not, just see what you like best and think of how it would fit on the grand scheme of things. Bar Admiral Thrawn, I don't really like much of the EU post Return of the Jedi, and it would be the same with material from the Pre-Phantom Menace material. But this is only my opinion and whether you like anything that I don't, is something I have to accept and respect.
Hi EvanNova95, just wandering, could you do a video similar to this on the Old Republic, it'd be interesting to know your opinion, considering it seems a lot of people think that you have a bias towards that later Era?
Would you say that Darth Maul & Obi-Wan had the best rivalry in Star Wars? From my limited knowledge I'd definitely say so, would love to hear other people's choices. Also great video as always.
"Obi-Wan recounts just how much pain not only Maul had caused him, but how much pain everyone around him had suffered. Mentors and friends killed, innocents broken, brothers turned into killers... and all because Maul's kind was allowed to flourish unabated."
Damn, that's just depressing.

Afaik Maul's death was part of a Sidious' plan all along
Great presentation. The quality of the narration has improved. Excellent work.
I totally agree with you, I don’t care what Disney or lucasfilm say what’s Cannon and what’s not, Star Wars is yours to do what you like with it.
But don’t think of me as a hater of what Disney has done with Star Wars since they bought it. the last Jedi and solo had some small aspects that I enjoyed but I do not dislike them just because they are new Star Wars stories, it is the fault of the creators making poor decisions
I really like the force awakens, I really like rebels, I really like rogue one, and I don’t care if someone else tries to tell me otherwise or change my mind, because it doesn’t matter what some random group of people thinks about the things you like....
The only opinions that should matter are yours and the people you know best.
i thoroughly, THOROUGHLY enjoyed this man
Evannova95 I just can't tell you how much seeing a video like this means to me. :)
+Michael Karimian Thank You, thats very flattering.
I didn't even read this book and knew instantly it was Darth Maul.
Awesome video sir
Really good stuff. I am starting to love you guys doing story videos more than the verses ones. Keep it up.
your story narrations are always so amazingly done
This is written very well. Really well done.
Excellent video! You're absolutely right, canon is what one makes of it. I honestly don't understand how anyone could not get this.
I've been watching you since you had 300 subs!
You nailed it with your finale thoughts.
Oh my god! I just found this comic on facebook! It was amazing
I'M SORRY BUT DID NO ONE ELSE NOTICE THE KINGDOM HEARTS SOUNDTRACK AT THE END
great story and good reading evan
So Darth Maul is finally done in by Uncle Owen? I'm pretty sure that makes him a badass.
yup in old Canon
This is quite the video you've made. Plus, I agree with you on several points.
For Character Profile videos, might I suggest these guys:
1. Ferus Olin
2. Xanatos
3. Revan
4. Admiral Thrawn
For more Recap and Retrospectives, here are some good short stories that may interest you:
1. "End Game" by James Luceno
2. _In his Image_ and _A Two-Edged Sword_ by Karen Traviss
3. _First Blood_ by Christie Golden
+DarthWill3 who would in ferus olin vs jax pavan
+Xavier Ford win, my bad
Xavier Ford
Very hard to tell. It'd be pretty close.
+DarthWill3 yoda vs anaken and obi wan, are you going to make your own vs series
Xavier Ford
I don't think so.
+Umesh Narayan Fingers Crossed.
In Your Point of View of Owen Lars Being Strict To Luke and How He Doesn't Want Luke To Be Around Force Sensitive Beings Like Obi-Wan Is Exactly How I Feel, I Believe The Reason Why Owen Is Strict To Luke in Episode 4 Is Cause He Knew What Anakin Skywalker Had Became and How Frightening Anakin Was Regarding The Death of His Mothers, In The Hands Of Tusken Raiders, And As You Have Said In This How He In Person Sees How Dangerous and Yet How Powerful Force Sensitive Beings Are Capable Of And All He Wanted To Do Was To Keep Luke Safe, That Is Like Any Other Parent Would Do, And Yes Even If This Classic Comic Book Is Non Canon, That Doesn't Mean That It Is Not Enjoyable To Read I Mean I Still Read The Star Wars Legacy And That Series Is Non Canon Either I Loved The Story The Character's And How It Makes Us Star Wars Fan Enjoy The Franchise, Regardless What Author, Company's Like Walt Disney Pictures or Even Lucas Arts Says, These Stories Make The Franchise Even MORE Interesting, More Enjoyable Heck Even Makes Us Make OC'S, Fan fictional Stories Based on This Franchise, and Yes The Old Wounds Comics Proves THIS Point, I Understand As A Star Wars Fan Myself I See That This Comic Book Explains How Deadly and How Effective The Past Can Do To Us, In My Opinion Star Wars The Old Wounds Is By Far The Greatest Comic Book There Is.
true words such as yours make this book and the eu alot better
Adam Niccum Agreed
all hail the eu and legends material forget the disney eu and the corny awakens
A great video. I agree with you and think with any large franchise every fan has to pick and choose what they like from it and enjoy it. I do find it frustrating sometimes but this type of continuity conflict is inevitable.
A nice video dude
Beautiful
season 3 episode of rebels brought me here...i think Disney is doing old wounds
but maul was still in the trailer so ?
Sceptile Tube watch episode 2 of season 3 rebels...that's what brought me here
john adams saw it 2 days ago
Sceptile Tube so after that episode and maul saying his alive...you are not suspect it being obi wan? i just said they doing old wounds because it was done in 2005 prior to clone wars...and now if you look at the concept art for his saber and then his saber in rebels its the same...i think this is how they are going to end Maul, his still in the trailer yes which leads me to believe they would save this story for the end of the season or perhaps a new season altogether
john adams or a obi wan spin off movie
Please do more of these!
Top 10 Star Wars Characters From The Expanded Universe.
+TheDrapocalypse I like how you think. Perfectly marries new and old content.
+Darth Imperius are you perhaps THE Darth Imperius from this website Sith Academy.Com?
+TheDrapocalypse As it happens, I am not.
+TheDrapocalypse Nope... Maul is in the new rebels trailer...
+OverSizedMidget He means its his idea of what happened. Evan just said that canon is what we as fans make of it. Officially, yes, Maul will be in rebels, but this is just one fan's version of the story.
that was great Evan
Sweet video
very good video Evan plays on our emotions on whats Conan and non -conan now because for me personally i loved the EU so much in star wars and then its just Non-canon anymore.
Couldn't agree more.
Disregard the title Legends. There was no disclaimer when I was throwing money at Lucas Studios that stated, " thanks for supporting our works, but btw...this stuff might not matter if we're purchased by another company...but thx for your dough"
As far as im concerned, if it were not for all of the legions of EU fans buying the games, comics, toys and things that we took as cannon.
It sounds like something that has the potential to be awesome.
best video yet
17:39 so, technically, Palpatine is saying that Maul is NOT really a Sith Lord, but rather a Sith Assassin.
Palpatine was lying to Plagueis.
I honestly like Mauls lightsaber here
Kingdom Hearts! Respect Evan!
I really hope we see something like this in Rebels. It'd be an interesting way to see how Ben and old Maul contend with each other.
At least Dave sort of adapted this into Rebels. Another reason as to why that show is better than the sequel trilogy
Wow, great story
the recent Rebels episode that shows a version of Maul vs Kenobi for the final time even references this story. Kenobi refers to Mauls presence as and "Old Wound"
Luke is only three so obiwan should be younger
I agree with what you said about Canon, it's what you make of it. Not what anyone else says.
actually this story might still fit in continuity, even after Clone Wars was made the primary canon.
Does anybody know the name of the piano song that starts up at around 11:20 and continues up until the end of the vid?
Old Wounds is a great story. I totally agree that we should like what we wish. Canon really only exists to show how Disney is going to go further. It doesn't erase all the good EU material.
this needs to be in the Kenobi Anthology
I think this is a great explanation for why Luke hadn't seen obi-wan in years back in the movie
Darth Vader and Darth Sidious vs Mace Windu and Yoda. I think this would be pretty cool.
Is the song playing in the background of the retrospective a piano version of the Kingdom Hearts theme?
Hey EvanNova95, great video. Little unrelated, but where would you put Kyp Durron, Kyle Katarn, Kam Solusar and Corran Horn in your Council member Tiers?
+kartrix1
Kyle Katarn = Tier 1.5 (He's the Dooku of his era)
Kam Solusar = Tier 3
Corran Horn = Tier 3 (He has Tier 2 Saber Skills and Tactical Prowess, but he is brought low by his force abilities)
Kyp Durron = Tier 3 (He has Tier 2 Force Abilities but he is brought down by his saber skills and tactical prowess)
Would love it if you included Coleman Trebor in one of your vids tho there isn't much about him I still like that Jedi!
pls do more of these kind of things.
I like it.
EvanNova95 still making Quality content. He and his friends I subbed to them all and you should to.
Would you say that Darth Maul & Obi-Wan had the best rivalry in Star Wars? From my limited knowledge I'd definitely say so, would love to hear other people's choices. Also great video as always.
