These videos are always so much better when it's just Leno and a car, rather than Leno, a car, and some guy from the manufacturer.

well, I came into some money a few years ago and I looked to fulfil one item on my bucket list: drive a DB9...I looked into renting one for a weekend...can you say close to $10,000.00?? If I remember it was something $2000 per day rental, $800 per day for insurance....and the deductible was insane...I think it was a $10,000.00 deductible so ONE door ding and I was toast......plus CDN taxes of 13.5 %. The killer was if you picked it up at 5 on Friday, that counted as day 1....
So I looked into buying a used one, keeping it for a month then re-selling it....(would have lost about the same $$)...so didn't do it.....
But I did knock one other item off the bucket list...bought a Harley Davidson Nightster hehehe.....
And of course Jay isn't inviting any of us over to his place to drive this great super car so we can dream of being 007! Probably very very wise of him, but when you look at this video, how would you ever blame anyone for trying? Thanks anyway Jay, for this and all the other great car videos you've made.
You can rent one...is not that expensive.

The thing I love about this car is, it'll look great 50 years from now.
I have a db9 Le Mans edition, limited to 124 units worldwide. It's amazing how much care Aston takes, my cars final inspection was also done by Barry Griffin. It just goes to show how specialised Aston is as only a very selected few will ever get to build them, and even fewer will ever sign off on them.
I was lucky to ger a ride in a Aston Martin DB9 Volante 2006 model last week. It was much faster than you sense on the youtube videos. In my opinion even the DB9 Volante got all the speed you need - and that V 12 motor sounds epic. Halfway the owner let me drive the car back. It´s easy to drive i automatic and the seats are great. I´m a tall guy 1.90 meters. I must say this is my dream car, said by a man who owns a scooter, and who cannot afford a car a the moment ha,ha. But I am allowed to dream, and I hope all of you could get the same oppotunity to ride this wonderful car.
actually, older db9s are selling in the 40-60K range so I still think it is attainable.

Jay, you may not change the plugs on your Aston as you undoubtably have a techie in your garage to do it for you. However, many DB9 owners do change the plugs themselves. It is not straight forward and requires a considerable amount of paraphernalia to be removed from the top of the engine, but it is doable by a competent home mechanic. Not only does it save you a large amount of money, but it is also a lovely way to get to know more about your Aston and feel a closer attachment to the car.
There are some cars that you don t appreciate so much, until you see Jay's video !!!!!

Aston Martin just has a timeless look.
Personally, I think the Virage name should have been used for what is the current Vantage. The name Vantage should be used for high performance versions of various Aston Martins (like it was before).
I live in the UK there was a chap pulling out in a DB 9 down the road, what a gorgeous car, what a sound, it is true class, lovely car, oh well my lottery win has not come in yet

I couldn't agree more about the whole top speed issue. It's like "I have a supercar that does 198 mph"..."Your car isn't a supercar because it doesn't break 200 mph barrier but mine IS a supercar and it does 202 mph"..."Oh yeah, well I have a hypercar that does 218 mph and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds"...."That's not a supercar, it's a GT car because it's engine is in the front and neither is his 200 mph Bentley because it's a saloon car". I'm mean seriously...give me a break. Their all pretty freaking super if you ask me. And so is the hand welded aluminum bodied, hand built, 186 mph Rolls Royce Phantom. I'd be stoked to get any of them...even a older one from like 2004-2006. Many of them still look the same as the newest model year (usually each model runs for about 8-13 years with highend luxury automobiles) and in many cases they look better than the newest body style.
THOSE NUMBERS ARE FUN TO READ ABOUT BUT USELESS IN THE REAL WORLD.

Jay, I'm glad you're expanding your horizons! Gave me a scare there when I heard you were in the hospital couple years ago regarding your heart? Surprised me even more when I heard NBC "fired" you from the Tonight Show. It's been a while since I've seen any of your shows. Those were during my high school days. Since then life has taken a MAJOR change and have not kept up with a lot of things, the Tonight Show being one of them, however I am happy to see you still cracking jokes online!

Jay loves cars and gives such excellent reviews, I just sat through way too much of a video where an accountant who titled his video incorrectly. He had a beautiful 2005 DB9 and it just sat there while he talked about the true cost of the car. He should have let people know it was clickbait-really pisses me off. So Jay is like a spiritual bandaid after sitting thru that bull shot accountants car video. Thanks Jay. Aston Martins are the absolute peak of car design & beauty married to a fantastic propulsion system.

Never been a fan of British cars but, really, how can you dislike the Aston. It's a beautiful car that really exudes class and elegance. It also has unique styling. I appreciate that given so many cars nowadays (aside from the Italians) seem formulaic in their design.

I have to agree with you on that torque figure. The engine is actually a Ford design. It started life in the Ford GT90 concept. It started out as a siamesed 4.6L DOHC V8 block (from the Lincoln Mark VIII) with 2 cylinders cut off. Ford had already made the tooling for the V12 but then dropped the idea for putting it in their road cars. When Ford bought Aston, the first thing they asked A/M was do they have a need for a V12. Aston said yes and they stuck it in the Vanquish.

It feels almost redundant to explain true passion of cars to someone who is interested in nothing but the pure performance, it's nice to have someone support the true nature of cars which isn't something as basal as a veyron or nissan gtr, becuase those are nothing but milestones in pure engineering not in something intangible as the human heart, almost like a religion (coming from an atheist no less)...it's beauty and beast in one shell.
My absolute favorite car in Forza Horizon is my Aston Martin DBS. If I ever get the cash I think Aston will be the first car manufacturer I ever visit to get my sports car.
Sick color
I have driven my friends Evo X and had the pleasure to drive the GTR on a track during an auto show(just two laps though) and there isn't that huge of a difference as you might think. The GTR is a better car, but comparing the Evo X to it is not all that outlandish, the specs are pretty similar. The Evo X is a technological marvel, getting that performance out of something that costs so little is truly amazing. Even if I had money for eather, I'd pick the Evo X, but i don't so i have a Lancer.
