00:00 - 01:04: Priscilla Salzberg - Are you ever going to get Belle a boyfriend or Scout a girlfriend?
01:04 - 05:13: David T - "The only thing I'll challenge is when you said the small brochure was "overkill." ...
05:13 - 09:29: Jack Hawk: I've been a falconer my entire life with the exception of the past few years because of the comment I'm about to make... The hardest part of falconry is having a long term home for your mews or birds location..
09:29 - 12:58: Art Doc: Martin - I thought you were dyslexic, or am I wrong?
12:58 - 13:50: Peter Hughes - Complete at least 1 degree in natural sciences ie biology, zoology, ecology, botany.
    13:50 - 15:47: Teresa -
    - Is it possible to import cotton tail and jack rabbits to help repopulate the area you are hunting?
    - I have seen kestrels in my area. Would they make good birds for falconry?
15:47 - 18:30 Nicholas: I have seen videos of people hunting Grackles or Blackbirds (etc) from a car with small falcons. Can you comment on that?
18:30 - 19:57 David T - "The fools who think they can start with the biggest birds reminds me of many years ago.
19:57 - 21:16: M127 - This series got me watching a documentary about people in Mongolia with an ancient tradition of hunting with golden eagles.
21:16 - 22:04: BudaKhan - How many different raptors do you have? I know of the golden eagle, falcon, and Cooper’s Hawk(?).
22:04 - 23:10: Elizabeth Heiji - Here in Germany we take a class followed by a 4-part oral test and if we pass, we can get our falconry license. I did this and had not a clue how to handle a bird.
23:10 - 27:42: BudaKhan - The game warden should have lost his job for dealing with you that way.
27:42 - 28:54: Samtheman - Martin what a great story. We all have met a superior who disliked us, and the more you try to earn their respect they continue to pursue a confrontational relationship.
28:54 - 33:28: Gertrude West - I don’t know Martin. Fish and Game have an attitude here in Tucson.
33:28 - 37:11: Lorrie Peek - Im wondering what the falconers can do that the game wardens dont like. Your just hunting your falcons.
37:11 - 42:15: Teddi Bryant - We always lose our tempers at times....part of human nature...I am medical & had such experiences(( & you can only go thru much !
42:15 - 44:09: Tyler Krug - What is the bad reputation of other falconers?
44:09 - 45:34: Tyler Krug - What did he think he was going to bust you for?
45:34 - 48:02: Budakhan - I hope one of things you cover in an episode is what’s the cost of becoming a falconer, In terms of actual dollars.

It's awesome that you overcame your dyslexia and feel comfortable talking about it to let others know there is a way to overcome.

Belle is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous gorgeous Harris Hawk. Is she the only Harris Hawk in Utah? I believe I read that they are not in Utah anymore... however that could be wrong.

Hi Carrie, Belle is from New Orleans. Generally Harris Hawks go to where the weather is warmer so Martin has to make sure she never gets too cold.

Just a comment on your earlier video when you had cataract surgery. I thought long and hard before I underwent it myself. Regrettably, in hindsight, I so regret it! Whereas I could see to do detailed work previously, without glasses, now I can barely see with them. And since the anasthestist messed up, now I may have permanent facial muscle damage. I'm so glad yours worked out well. But mine...😭

This is completely off the current topic. However, I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. And I was at the store 2 days ago and in the parking lot in the corner a couple feet away was a goose. It's odd saying that normally you see geese cuz they're so many of them together.... anyhow, there was one Goose alone. And we do have geese that winter over here a lot of them don't. But this one was alone and acting very odd.
I saw it desperately trying to eat a frozen piece of bread. And I knew it was starving and something was wrong. So I called the local non-emergency number. They sent two cops over. The police said the only place that took Wildlife especially Birds was so short-staffed that they would take it, only if we captured it and brought it to them. The police had no idea what to do. They started feeding it bread which I thought was a bad idea cuz I have read that it's not good to feed distressed Birds. Right or wrong, that's how we kept its attention. While I tried to catch it. They were too afraid. When I failed because I did not want to injure it. They said we'll get the noose. And I had no idea what that even meant, a noose..? What kind of noose would cops carry around??... I found out rather quickly when they brought out the choking thing that you see old-school dog catchers carry around. And I immediately yelled please don't use that you will break its neck or kill it or it will kill itself trying to get away. I begged them to just give me a few minutes I only lived two or three minutes away driving I would go get blankets from my house. I told them all we had to do was cover its head and it would be okay. Not to mention, blankets are a much safer rescue tool than a noose... anyhow, thankfully they were very ready to allow me to take charge of the situation and they were patient. So I ran home got a couple sheets and a couple blankets of different sizes. And came back and within three minutes we through one of the blankets, very lightweight onto the very scared goose, and I scooped him up. The cop grabbed him while I made sure his wings were tucked in and under correctly. As I've seen Martin do a million times, and I put him in a box very comfortably and made sure the whole box was covered with a lightweight sheet in case he got his head out. He would still not freak out because you wouldn't be able to see anything. And he wouldn't smother. The goose is currently being evaluated at a Wildlife Shelter and I am to call back tomorrow to find out any information. I believe he had a concussion and we saw a little bit of blood on his side or her side. So I don't really know if it was internal or what was going on. Definitely a head injury it was very wonky and wobbly. Anyhow, I'll call back tomorrow and find out. I just wanted to thank you Martin. Because I literally thought of everything I've seen from you, in order to help me rescue that poor bird in a dire situation. Sorry this was a novel. Many thanks from Pittsburgh PA!

Martin, my wife and I love you and are thankful for your knowledge. I just want to ask why you believe a young man 14-15 cannot begin falconry? Were you not a close age as well when beginning? Why would you be more accepting of an older gentlemen learning that Falconry does not meet his lifestyle as opposed to a young man learning that later in life may be a better time to excel in the sport? Thanks so much

It's a daunting task at any age...beginning of study at any time is wonderful, but practical details such as a driver's license and room for a mews are really big hurdles for young people.

What I don't understand is the rationale for not letting an eagle breed. If there is no good rationale, the restriction may be able to be removed.

But Im very bi polar too on a very fixed income so if icould you would be 3 I wish I can give to you too. I too am dyslexic and a slow reader but the frustration that comes with it i would beat myself up. But your book signed with Scouts foot print and I love that read. You deserve to go to Mongolia.
