This is back when Bissell actually made decent vacuums, before they dropped the headlight and went down to a 10 amp motor. I've always liked these older models.
Decent is a nice way to put it. Bissell's bagless models always lacked in both performance and efficiency. The 10 amp motor performs about the same as the 12 amp motor, but it draws less current. In my mind, that was an improvement. The whole "12 amps maximum cleaning power" thing is just marketing anyway. The average Suzhou or Midea motor out of these Bissell models probably moves around 100-135 CFM at the opening on the fan housing, but that is greatly reduced through the filtration system and winding passages. That makes for poor deep cleaning ability!
The bagged models are a lot better. If both the older and newer Bissell bagged models had better brush rolls and motors, they would be almost as good as the older lower-end Panasonic models. They were alright for their price, at least.
You definitely have a point, We have one and one of the tabs that holds the brush roll in broke off and causes the brush roll to make a frictiony noise which can be annoying
A carpet contractor that installed new carpeting at my grandma’s house a few years ago had one of these, but I don’t understand why they didn’t have a commercial machine
I don't believe that there is a vacuum cleaner on the market that does not have filters. If that were the case, a good blower could kick dirt into the air just as well.
This was my favorite vacuum until the belts kept messing up so we got a blue that's a PowerBook helix rewind until every time we it it smells like something's burning and it barley sucks up the we got a new a couple days ago and it was purple and it's the pet eraser
Bissell has officially screwed up these were the good one but sense they cheapin out i dont by bissells no more we have two sharks an a oreck from the 1990's to the 2000
BissellSupporter !!!!! It’s ok hope you find one look everyday on eBay or on Craigslist and you might not know you find a brand new one if you get lucky
I really like that Bissell Powerforce Bagless Turbo, I wish they would start selling all of those older vacuums brand new again

Grayson Reichert I agree with you I like the older bissell vacuums

And that's why I usually like the bagged models.

Bissell powerforces are great vacuums
They most certainly are not. They are built in the style of toys and are less functional than a broom.

I don't personally think that unit is worth the real estate it takes in any collection, unless it's the weekly trash collection.
