Shahid Afridi isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, never has been. He’s the perfect example of why reading and a worldly education are just as important as deen.
He may be a great cricketer, but he’s mediocre as a person (….piggybacking on Aamna’s term). But this is the culture of today -regardless of where one lives-we celebrate the wrong people.
Instead of honoring the intellects of the world, we idolize athletes, singers, and “influencers,” leading to a global standard of mediocrity. And it’s about to get worse! As an educator, I see the lowering of standards every day. Mediocrity is here to stay.

If a story of straight people is turned to gay, it won't affect as much as a gay story being turned straight because hetero couples are still the normative in majority of the world. If the interview with gohar and kubra had gone well, she would have definitely gone to the screening but now she's being petty because she didn't get a proper apology for that day. Please watch Panchayat. It is the only Indian drama series I have watched after Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. It's the perfect family watch. Even my father watched and enjoyed this series, and he has not seen any drama since the PTV golden era. Social messaging never goes overboard or too dark; it is very subtle (so is the romance). Even the minor characters leave their presence. I typically avoid watching violence in shows. However, in its season 3 finale, the fight sequence is so hilarious that my eyes were glued to it. The dialogues are written and acted so brilliantly that many have become memes. Our Pakistani entertainment industry should watch this and learn how to make drama.
As English series are concerned, you should watch Derry Girls, which is far superior to Bridgerton. Perfect coming-of-age drama. Hilariously chaotic. Like Panchayat, it is also a small-town story marred with political crises that is flawlessly written in the show never taking centre stage.
I agree.. one of the simple cleanest series except for some.abuses/drinking here and there.. but its nice.. no vulgarity at all.

I agree with Aamna. We strive on mediocrity. Kaam nahe ata 90% ko. If we look at Japan, they will do one thing and would achieve excellence and perfection, even at a small level. Also, we do not wanna learn new skills too. We are comfortable following same old designs and skills.
Japan is not a good example. Puppet of America, rampant misogyny, population crisis. Disaster capitalism is obsessed with productivity and making money. We have to respect the arts and let people make art for the love of it. People can't do that anymore because they are trying to survive. The ones at the top just want to make more money
Hassan try to change your sleeping habits. Go to bed early, not later than 11 pm, and wake up at least one hour before sunrise. Pray morning prayer as well. You will see dramatic improvement in your energy level, and your productivity will skyrocket believe me. In western countries, most of the businesses go closed between 7 to 9 pm. And people go to bed as early as 9 pm during weekdays.
This late sleeping habit is among many desi muslims... they don't realise the benefits of early sleeping.

I'm not sure about the allegations but just wanted to comment on logic that you've given. If someone is after the wealth then nothing is enough for him/her. Two of our main political party leaders are example of that. And many well reputed cricketers of ours have been part of match fixing so logically we can't say that he is not involved. I think the story of barzakh is about a schizophrenic person who has been left alone to solitude because his kids are busier in their lives away from him and resultantly he has created a life for himself of the things that are in his subconscious mind, a life he could have but sacrificed for his children. That's why variety quoted Kejriwal ''The story was about a family, about love, about loss, about guilt, about anger - all the family issues. But what it also had was fairies and ghosts and myths and red moon nights and paper balls raining down from the sky.
What happened with Haris was wrong but truly, i didn't feel like defending him or other team members because their performance sucked and the fact that they were having vacation there boils my blood. And where were all those sympathy tweets by all the players when they let us down.

There are some good shows on Apple TV if you have access to it. Severance, Constellation and currently Dark Matter are all solid shows on it, with only one season out at the moment.

Please do watch Korean drama The Atypical Family which is available on Netflix , Though it’s time travel and full of cliches they have presented it so well . The actors have done wonderful job and there is romance , humour , melodrama everything nicely packed in one drama .

Hassan, not sure if you've seen Pataal Lok. Its season 2 is also coming out. Kohraa, punjabi series on Netflix was really really good, thrilling. And for Aamna, i would like to suggest Once Again starring Shefali Shah, Love per Square Foot and Chopsticks.

About Bridgerton, don't know if people know that it is based on a series of books (most people I tell this get surprised so that's why I added this), and in Penelope and Colin's book, much like in the show, Colin doesn't like Lady Whisteldown, and in the end of the book, Pen stops writing completely. Colin and Pen's is the fourth book in a series of eight, so it depicts society during Whistledown and post-Whistledown, so they probably revealed it to everyone because Pen isn't gonna write anymore, and it serves as a way to close the Whistledown chapter.
P.S: I think them not following the books' order could mess up the development of Ben and Sophie (or whoever his love intrest is), as his story takes place during the Whistledown era

I started watching The Watcher…couldn’t get past the first episode…it was way too slow…if it picks up, maybe I’ll watch it over the summer…

There's a reason why the content on Netflix is subpar. Most of the other studios have their own streaming services and they've pulled their own content out of Netflix. The novelty and variety on Netflix is not the same anymore, especially if you look at the large number of projects they greenlight every year. There's not enough funding going towards writers rooms. They've actively pivoted towards content that doesn’t require a lot of attention and can just be viewed passively (like when you have a movie on in the background). hassan if you want to see something good I'd highly recommend you to watch "panchayat" web series it's very good I enjoyed it alot.
@hassan and @Aamna please watch Panchayat seasons 1,2 and 3 and Gullak seasons 1 to 4 with IMBD ratings of 9.0 and 9.1 respectively. Both are light-hearted shows based on human emotions and comedy.
Last night we watched the movie "Missing". IMDB 7.1/10 and rotten tomato 88%. It's a mind twister. Hassan, you may enjoy it. It's very fast paced too.
