My wife's had a crosstar for nearly two years now, she gets 65 mpg in urban driving because she keeps it on electric as much as she can. It's a great little car. (yes, she's a granny).
In a world of stress and urgency a car that leans into its relaxed side ain't all that bad. That such a characteristic is deemed 'old people behaviour' by society really devalues the design principles that even the most premium of car manufacturers tried to engineer: comfort and a relaxed ride!
Honda build quality is great and reflected in the bigh prices . This girl always sounds as if she has a sore throat. It always tickles me how these presenters rabbit on waxing lyrical .
Been driving a Jazz for 7yrs now, wish i had gotten one sooner. Incredibly reliable only brakes and tyres changed to date and doing around 25kmiles a year now. Its a breeze up the motorway when the v-tec kicks in albeit a little tiring on long journeys with its stiff suspension but great on short trip down the twisty’s.
Picked this up in 2016 2nd hand for a bargain and was only 9months old at the time, top trim it doesn’t age. People still shocked when i tell them how old it is and the kit, you May struggle to find a car today with all the safety features in one place.
We are now looking to replace the wifes car with this new hybrid model.
Be happy to get a little more performance from the car its certainly needed but like said jn the review if you poodle along its plenty and very economical.
If one is honest, this is more than enough car.
Yes, I had a set in one for a few minutes earlier this year, and I was amazed about the amount of room inside it, and if the back seats are folded down there is all the space to carry things you should require.
This lady is such a joy to listen and watch.
So nice! Have a beautiful day and a lovely melody in your head and heart today everyone🌻
I've had three Jazzes. Not one of them has ever gone wrong, even as a gruelling daily driver. They're not exciting, nor fast, but every time I've turned the key, my Jazz has started, without fail. I'm currently trying to wear out my Mk2 so I can buy a Mk4, but it just keeps going ......
It will go further more. My father has 2007 one and 255k mile on clock 1.3 l petrol, CVT. He loves ❤️ it
I've got a petrol jazz and aside from it being slightly underpowered, at 60+ mpg and space for all my musical equipment it's a great car. Playing jazz saxophone is very important to me, and this car comes closely behind....
Sadly for Australian's, Honda withdrew the Jazz about 3 years ago so this is the first time I've seen the newer version. I would buy this car in a heartbeat if it was still on offer here. You can't beat the Jazz for storage practicality, fuel consumption and good old Honda reliability. I think Honda were crazy for removing it from our shores! Lovely review - thanks!
Honda killed off jazz in SE Asia and Oceania in favor of bigger city hatchback and small crossover like WR-V or amaze
Omg can they bring this trim to the US?!
EDIT: Heated steering wheel in a Fit?! Sign me up!!!!
I really liked the former model.
I'll have to get used to this one.
Very nice video thank you👍
It sucks that we can't get this here in the United States. Honda, essentially forcing me into a Civic if I want to stay within the Honda family, even though I don't want something that large (yes, the Civic has turned into more of a mid-sized vehicle than a compact at this point).
I decided to buy a 2020 Honda Fit LX (the previous generation Jazz) and have been wonderfully satisfied with it. I would've purchased this version though if it were sold in the US, and it does seem just a bit more refined and quieter. Have already hauled some items in my Fit that I could never imagine carrying in my Kia Rio sedan that I traded in. Love it!
My old Fiesta XR2 only did 0 to 60 in around 9 seconds. that kind of speed is brisk enough for most situations.
I don't understand the remark about usb c as generally you plug them on mobile device not on the charge side...Other than that I can't waitto receive mine on october...it won't be a cross...but I get it for the engine and the visibility
I have this car since 3 years and the new modele in few weeks . No problem and very cool car 👍👍. Hello from france 🥂🥂
Loving the face and the car front 😊 they should always bring out an SI or sport version then missing a trick not grabbing the youngsters with such a good little car
I didn't see you mentioning the "smart" back seats. It's a huge advantage. Go back to the car and find out about it by yourself. It is an amazing feature!
Honda Jazz, one of the best cars ever! ✨
Well done for not mentioning a potted plant 😮. I love the Jazz..... nice.
Preferred the previous fully ICE car as the back seat/area was super - you could fold the seats and the thing turned into a huge van ! £28k (or even 26) for a small car though.... cough...cough...
Great car!
Going to look great outside the bingo hall
Most definitely better constructed than a VW product.. Best avoid the Cross Star model as the cheaper version is the better value.. Top trim models are too expensive for a tiny vehicle.
As a short distance shopping, town vehicle it is very good indeed..
This is great car...I wish they make this car with higher seating position
Wish we had this in Texas but not for 35k USD
All I was interested in was Rebecca 😊
Great car👍
Awesome car
So cute car
What do I think? I think it has fine qualities that make it a better car than a Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme. But not over £11k better.
That's funny, cuz "driver engagement and thrilling handling" to me mean: Ultra light steering effort and super cushy, soft suspension.
Very glamorous car to me👍
It's made for safety it has bendable metal Just push the hood or something like the bad bumper you'll see that it will pop in and then pop out
Rebecca should be reviewing more sport cars!
Nice
How much 😳
Hope Honda Australia will bring the Honda Jazz back to Australia.
Great review Rebecca - £28k - so expensive !
28 grand for a supermini....and Corsa's etc can be 30k + now....fck me.
Wish had a sunroof then be near perfect
I loved my first gen one for it's practicality and fuel efficiency. I've had motorcycles with worse fuel efficiency. Now a hybrid isn't exactly what I was hoping to have from Honda (how hard would be to make a full electric one, right?). But a hybrid is bound to be much cheaper to buy.
Not everyone wants an electric one with a degrading battery that comes with some sort of driving range anxiety.
I would not knock the USB port. Far more rugged and suited to a car than USB C.
A Swiss Kniffe. Intelligent with a lot of space 😊
La meilleure hybride citadine du marché.
Nice small car
Would've happily listened to her gasp for 6 minutes.
Anyway, you buy a Jazz for reliability, practicality, and fuel economy, and it delivers those. But like all cars these days, it's overpriced. Seems like not that long ago you could get a top spec Civic for this kind of money...
The price tags on all these major brand EVs and hybrids are going to drive a lot of motorists into the arms of the likes of Dacia in the coming years.
BRING BACK THE HONDA FIT TO THE USA 🥺🤗
1:33 shaking
£28K for that little thing! We don’t have it in Oz, but the Yaris Cross ranges from $A28-40K (£14~20K) for a small SUV with a proper Hybrid system and a better specification at the top end. Jeez that’s a lot of UK tax and additional costs. £28K should be the absolute top of the range CR-V.
Yes mate but here in the U.K. the Yaris Cross starts at around £25000. Welcome to rip-off Britain mate.
What do you mean "a proper hybrid system", are you aware the Jazz is also a full on hybrid as well? It even has two batteries giving it a better electric range than most rivals.
@@ajb1149 Thanks for pointing that out. I made the lazy mistake of thinking they were still using the relatively unsophisticated Honda mild hybrid system from the mid-2010s (a bit like the relatively unsophisticated system in current Subies).
your a fine bird jackson
Rebecca i finally found you after years ! please hide a banana in the door bin for the good old times sake😉
If only someone would fit the Jazz series hybrid drivetrain into a Fiesta chassis and sell it at Ford prices.
At urban speeds the wheels are driven exclusively by an electric motor built into the gearbox which takes its power either from the small hybrid battery or a generator driven by the engine (and also built into the gearbox on a concentric shaft with the motor). Above about 50mph a clutch locks the engine to the output shaft so the engine does all the work directly. The gearbox does indeed contain gears, but they are all fixed ratio to keep all the components rotating at optimal speed (the motor runs faster than the engine, and the generator runs about twice as fast as the motor).
Power delivery is supremely smooth if you can get used to the disconnect between engine speed / pitch and road speed. It's way better than a PowerShift or DSG auto box.
On the plus side there are no gear changes, and no CVT belt / pulleys to wear out. On the negative side there are power electronics to go wrong and a lithium-ion battery under the boot floor where the spare wheel used to be (just waiting to be damaged / burst into flames in a rear-end shunt). And £25,900 is heinously expensive for the base model of a small car no matter how clever it is.
Good on Rebecca for wearing a proper watch instead of those ugly 'smart watches'. 😀
TWENTY EIGHT GRAND???!
So this or TWO Dacia Sanderos. Honda are taking the piss lol 🤣
No USB C ports..... Rebecca, the target audience for this car don't know what USBs are 😄
I have a new Honda Jazz and Carplay sucks. Huge lagging on Google Maps and Waze when connected to an iPhone 14 Pro.
At me with the same setting all works fine. May be it's your provider's fault…
@@Estragonistworks perfectly in rented cars and android auto works fine. The problem is the processing power of the Honda system. It sucks
Honda,is that hard to do beautiful car?
Just don't leave it on the driveway or in a car park. They nick the catalytic converters on these like billy-o.
The catalytic converter on the newer models is on the engine bay, so no chance
To expensive 😮
It's a "cross" over.
Across the industry it's an excuse to make unwitting consumers think that more and more SUV signature styling is worth 1000s more expensive.
And that's how inflation develops in the car market.
She did it down before she even started, that comment “ this is not the best looking car” put me straight off, three times she told those watching that in HER opinion this car looks crap!! I never heard another word she said, end of review. OUT
I'll never understand why they don't make these cars more fun to drive, surely it's all a question of chassis geometry which costs nothing. If it had that I'd buy one, but because it is a boring drive, I won't.
Jeez, even this car is a 4 door lol
It's too expensive thanks I won't take it.
Blimey £28k...gulp. How to spot a final salary pensioner. The Jazz was aimed at college kids market in the USA, where I bet it doesn't cost $28k...
Granny motor 😆
The Jazz had to be turned into a crossover to stay marginally relevant in this market?
Seriously Honda? 😒
Seems like an excellent compromise. I would have considered it if it wasn't so damn ugly
Absolutely horrendous is it any wonder that Honda car sales are plummeting in Europe.
It's almost as ugly as the Original Yaris Verso
Very very expensive for what it is
Twenty eight grands worth of over priced ugly.
Unfortunately this and the non Crosstar version has OAP appeal, I found it noisy didn't like the slopping centre screen too many reflections and interior a bit boring, and on the way home from the test drive came across a white haired lady driving around a roundabout in the wrong direction and you guessed it she was driving a Jazz, that pretty much made my mind up.
You are correct the jazz has an older audience. Never considered the jazz when I bought a new small hybrid last year, got the Yaris. Even the younger ppl said to me that the jazz is more for old people :)
The regular Jazz is better value. Not worth paying extra for this Crosstar version.
No spare wheel, no deal. Why didn't the presented reveal the deletion of a spare wheel, jack and tools. To make the boot/trunk larger, delete the spare wheel. Dumb design on EVs. What is the range of this "half distance cruiser?" Facts and figures are too objective, focus on the styling. I vastly prefer the older model's clean and simple lines.
Honda ruined the Jazz' looks with this new model.
Possibly the ugliest new car on sale today. Who signed this design off? Should be ashamed.
as good as the hybrid tech is, the crossstar is an ugly duck
Omg the most boring car ever 😂
You just get into it start it up and drive it gets you there at a good speed with a great Fuel economy, it never goes wrong, its comfortable, its sat nav is a lot better than that in the Mercedes and The Mazda I had. If you want a penis extension go buy one. If you want a good Hybrid buy a jazz
Still no spare wheel......no thanks
I will not buy any new car that does not offer at least a Space saver spare wheel/tyre.
Been running a non-Crosstar model for two years now and it's simple fantastic. Daily drive is a 100 mile round trip commute mostly on motorways and it's quiet, comfortable and all the assist systems actually work as advertised. All the normal touchpoints feel high end, it's got ridiculously good visibility and then there's the fuel economy. Routinely get over 500 miles between fill-ups and around 70mpg and that's driving normally. Out of curiosity I tried a more, umm, efficient driving style and got a real world 80mpg at the pump which is just crazy. All that and it's properly nippy off the line too thanks to the electric motor, certainly quick enough to embarrass the lower end offerings from premium German manufacturers. That 9.6 0-60 figure is definitely on the pessimistic side from Honda!
Oh and if you do get one of these, or go on a test drive, be aware the Eco button genuinely changes how it drives to the point I've actually left it in Eco most of the time. Makes the car noticeably more laid back which really helps build up speed smoothly and tends to tame the engine revving up under normal driving conditions.
100 miles a day ?!?!
im sure then its slow asf, my 2012 jazz si already too slow, besides that i like the car
@@marvin2678 you’d be surprised. I’ve had a few models over the years and the hybrid powertrain genuinely transforms the car (well, that and decent suspension). Off the line it’s basically a pure electric car so you get all 250Nm from a standing start. Honda are definitely being, uh, cautious with a quoted 0-60 of 9.6, take a second off that if launching with no mechanical sympathy. Regularly outpaces the lesser engine versions of German luxury brands when they’re trying something dumb on a multi-lane junction. Motorway speeds are absolutely fine though these days at my normal commute times there’s not really much point in pressing on anyway, just get to the next jam quicker. Brakes are solid too though that’s one bit where a wee bit more tyre on the road wouldn’t go amiss. After two and a half years I’ve yet to have any back or leg pain after getting out, even after two and a bit hours crawling round the m25. It’s not a hot hatch but then again it’s not trying to be and what it does it does very well indeed. My only real criticisms are the low speed ride being a bit more harsh than I’d like and big bumps / potholes coming into the cabin more than is ideal.
@@marvin2678 But the new jazz has the same driveline as the civic, it's not a sports car, but I think it's quick enough for everyday driving and I have seen many reports of fantastic fuel consumption, and to top it off, it is said to be almost 100 % reliable, I think I will buy one as my next car.
