I have to be honest with this beer. I recently tried it on a trip to San Diego and reminds me of Budweiser. I know It's a ale and Bud is a lager, but man it's similar.
805 is solid. Told a guy at work about it. He had never had it. He came in the next night and told me he was sold. Than I told him to try the cerveza version. Now he cannot stop talking about this beer and how he is sharing it with his friends. Firestone Walker Brewing Company really has a solid winner with the 805 series. Cheers!

I remember when this was only sold in the lion share variety pack and in the 805 area code, never would've thought 10 years ago it would become one of the number one craft beers in California.
Shiner Bock? This brewery is located in Texas and my buds there think this is their "State" beer. I guess it's like living in Colorado and calling Coors their beer. I'd like to get my mitts on this 805 to go with some 420. 10-4.
Good beer, Firestone does not make anything above average, not my favorite style, but I love the history of this beer, how it was first only sold in “805” area and became so popular that it went nationwide, I first had this when it was brewery release only at Firestone, I was disappointed because did not know it was a blonde ale, picked up some bombers on the way out to bring home for some friends and family, they loved it, this goes on sale a lot at my local supermarket for $5.00 a six pack, I always pick up a few to have for company Cheers Joe, hope all is well, very glad you are still reviewing, so many beer reviewers are gone, wonder why???
You cannot beat $5/6 pack! Yeah, lots of guys from way back when aren’t around doing videos anymore. I sometimes think burnout is a thing, and honestly, beertube stuff is such a small niche thing, it’s hard to get people to watch/interact and I think it sometimes makes people just say “why waste the time?” ya know? It’s still a fun hobby for me so I’ll continue until it’s not anymore. Glad you’re still around! 😎🍻
I think they have a taproom somewhere in LA. The brewery in Paso is pretty cool been there many time since it’s on the way when we are going to Pismo beach
Yes! They have a taproom in venice called Firestone Walker - The Propagator. It's awesome & they brew a ton of smaller batch, experimental beers there.

It’s just approachable and drinkable ya know? I love their hoppy beers and sours but they’re not for everyone. This one checks all the boxes IMO 🤙🏼

Someone sent me a 12-pack of bottles of this, once. I thought it had an odd, off flavor. It was good, though.
There was something else I was smelling/tasting that I couldn’t put my finger on, so maybe it was that odd flavor you’re speaking of?
How about Anchor Steam Beer? A style only made in California.
It’s funny, I only ever drink the Anchor holiday beer during Christmas time, haha. I should grab some standard Anchor Steam 🍻
Great suggestion! That's another low ABV beer with plenty of character. Anchor Porter is worth reviewing as well.
