This series just came out of nowhere, being watched by hardly anyone, but it's really great so far.
... I have never once in my life left a CZcams comment to try and support a small channel but bro, you fucking deserve it. I have no idea where this came from but my God it's gold.
Same here. This is gonna be an amazing series of videos
Same here, love these uploads❤😂
It's great !!
Yes!! I’m a loving this so much!!
"Why can't you be more like your brother" and the whole breakdown killed me. I never noticed that was the photo. Now there's a shared universe that needs to be extended.
It's crazy how good this channel is with so few subscribers. So funny
Actually I found this movie a lot darker than I was expecting. Pretty good review really.
This is the most intelligent analysis of film on CZcams
I’m loving these breakdowns.
Thanks for the laughs
This is actually a pretty good take on Saturday Night Fever. Silly but a good take.
I always suspected the racial /ethnic component of this movie was underplayed and not discussed much because it's not usually considered when this film gets talked about.
Fundamentally Tony hates his neighborhood and wants to get the hell out . That drives everything his character does in the movie
Concise, accurate, and hilarious. Thanks for another great video!
This channel is going to be big.
It would if CZcams algorithms were fair.
the fact that the Exorcist and Saturday Night Fever are in the same universe I'm fuckin floored 🤣😭. subscribed
This video and the Porkys one earned my sub. This is too good for the internet not to see it 😂😂😂
I don’t know why the algorithm graced me with this channel, but I’m thankful. Watched every video, listened to every free podcast, and close to joining patreon.
Thank you so much! That means a lot, especially since we’re just starting out.
Same here
I was hooked instantly
I stumbled across this channel a few days ago with the porkys video. You guys are hilarious. You deserve more subscribers. Keep it up 👍
This movie is a masterpiece. Accurate and very fun analysis.
Everyone keeps saying the same thing and they are correct. The Porkies video just seemed to hit the right algorithm with a bunch of people, myself included, who probably feel like the content and format was personally made for them. From the analysis, the infectious laughter, through to the inevitable “the past was doin its best”, you guys truly are onto something. Please keep it up, and us fans will try doing our part in sharing the love!
3:57 PERFECT edit
Please please please only do this for a living. Oh my god. And keep adding the poetry into it. You are awesome. It will pay off, I see 179 views, but soon it will grow like crazy. Sending you good vibes!
Love this channel
I watch them multiple times
So glad it was recommended last week
I subscribed immediately
Thank you so much (for the kind words and the vibes)! If you keep watching, we’ll keep making them.
This breakdown is wildly accurate.
A great, surprisingly dark film.
You know how filtered i am towards modern cinema? I stopped watching after the scene of the girl who have sex in the car to make John Travolta jealous, and Travolta doesn't even care.
Can we get a Porkys 2? Roadhouse? Fast Times at Ridgemont High? 16 Candles? Trading Places?? Just start doing all the good 80s movies these are great… do shows too like Dukes of Hazard 😂 these are too good
HAVE YOU HEARD OF PUERTO RICANS?!
I remember as a kid thinking the priest photo 📸 did resemble the Excorcist actor. 😁
I showed your channel to my husband after I watched a few of your videos. We were howling. Reminds me of old CZcams.
Keep going!
Don’t do modern movies.
Thank you so much! As far as doing modern movies, it might change, but right now we’ve decided that our epoch of critique is from the invention of the motion picture camera to the day the American version of The Office ended.
@@thisagedgreat
Good answer.
More please, these are great! Remo Williams?
SNF and The Exorcist. It's all connected.
Thanks for this channel, random but just lovely 😁
Come back in 10 years when their sons are doing "She Hulk", "Bat Girl", Star Wars ...
You should do one of these on the sequel "Staying Alive".
You guys should review the sequel "Staying Alive"!
Please.
Hell of a Dancer 😂
You’re brilliant. Thank you
Saturday Night Fever was a very good coming of age drama/ dance film .
The only problem is that the film became more of a cultural phenomena and societal icon of the time.
So I would argue people don't really know the movie itself just hype and hyperbole.
I think you are correct about that. I know I judged it solely around just the hype, but Gene Siskel loved the movie so much that he owned Travolta's suit from the competition.
I always wondered why the hell a seasoned movie critic would like a movie to that degree (and still do, but thats neither here nor there) and wondered what he saw that I didnt.
And the truth was, because he actually saw the movie, where I was just a dumb kid poking fun at it because of the hype around it without ever once seeing it beyond a couple clips.
Once I saw the movie, my mind was changed. I still dont think it is a masterpiece, but I do think it was a competent film that told a pretty good story in the way most late 70's films began to progress into.
So yeah, this film is a victim of its hype, even to this day, 4 decades later.
@Colorcrayons Yeah you make some good points here.
I heard about Gene Siskel buying the suit from Roger Ebert whom I knew a little years ago. I guess Gene was a fan of the film or at least of the suit. LOL.
@Colorcrayons I have just come back to writing about film myself so im.not sure if this film has been critically reevaluated or examined again.
Maybe it needs just that in order for the film to be validated over the hype and legend.
Glad I found this channel, funny af 👏
The way Saturday Night Fever get sold on stuff is kind of hilarious. When it gets talked about it’s like the disco movie, its fun disco sequences with the Bee Gees music. If you have seen it, but you’ve heard it talked about on TV, you might think the tone is similar to other big dancing movie it gets brought up alongside like Dirty Dancing and Footloose. The way it mostly gets talked about you’d think it was Grease. But the main group in Saturday Night Fever are a bunch of dirty bags, they’re not as bad (or fun) as the gang in A Clockwork Orange, but they’re not too far off either.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen A Bronx Tale, but I want to say Saturday Night Fever is kind of like A Bronx Tale with disco.
It even talks about leaving your friends cause they are a bunch of knuckleheads. I like the girl who works in Manhattan and has older boyfriend. It's a cool movie.
Please do “Dressed to Kill” it would be hilarious to hear you comment
Ok. Cool. I never saw the ending. You should do Stayin' Alive, the sequel! Good stuff.
Please do THE CRYING GAME
These videos are great, keep it up
It's actually a good movie and Travolta gives a great nuanced performance.
Royal Carribean has performers who do "Saturday Night Fever" play on their cruise lines. Saw it on the "Liberty of the Sea" on the way to Bermuda last year. Went to it thinking it would be mediocre, cheesy, it was one best live performances I've ever seen. The dancing elite, exrodinairy singing, acting, delighted by the show, amazing talent, they did a great job with the story. Performers from Columbia played the Puerto Rican dance team and they were absolutely awesome! Broadway level talent on a cruise ship. If you get a chance to see it don't miss it!
This break down was everything. I have seen this movie so many times. But I always miss something
Stone cold classic, great soundtrack and terrific script!
This kind of reminds me of getting great movie re-caps by way of Mad magazine.
Every time I find a small channel that I really like it ends up blowing up shortly after I start following it.
Screenshot this comment with the date and view count for posterity for when you inevitably blow up- if you’re in my recommendations it means the algorithm has found you and a sea of sad but loyal terminally online fans are soon to come
I hope so! (screenshotted)

Brilliant.
More goofy/outre possibilities for future episodes…
The Phantom of the Paradise
Over the Edge
They Live
Race with the Devil
Pray for the Wildcats (made for TV movie)
You guys are hilarious 😂
Subbed
PS John was angry when he got hit, i work really hard on mah hair and he hits it, he hits mah hair. 😂😂😂
This is very entertaining.
Loved the review and saw it when it was originally released. Staying in the late '70s, could you consider reviewing: 1/The Warriors, 2/American Werewolf in London and 3/The Wanderers... all (kind of) classics.
Be like ya brudda
The movie bring it on hasn't aged well but no one has realized it yet, just go back and watch it, it's nuts
Before you even said the Exorcist comment I was thinking it so when you said it I started dying‼️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏽
I siggest Shock Treatment or Phantom at the Paradise
I just recently discovered Phantom of the Paradise. Good stuff!
@@GrandFunker Phoenix was in Shock Treatment too, a similar movie. They're both weird movies I think this guy would bounce off of pretty nicely
Mate these videos are so good 😂
Awesome Ben
Keep it up
I thumbs up now right after i hit play cause i know it's gonna be good
The guy reviewing this movie obviously doesn't know an Italian family.
Your screen name sucking fucks! That didn't work lol
I also support
Magnificent.
Id add from the late 1970s; 🎬 Fever was R when it came out but was sooo popular, big craze 🕺🏻💃🏼 disco the studio quickly rolled out a edited PG version too.
its brooklyn!
Do 'The Last American Virgin'
You somehow skipped the part where his buddy kills himself on the bridge...but still this is great
This was what started it all - night life. Nightclubs today are modern Discos.
Really? Tell us more, Mr. Science
@@johngilmore697 There isn't any science to it at all. If you want initiate with the ladies you gotta do what Tony Monero do - dance your ass off and asked the ladies, "are you from out of town?"
@@Tuck_Frump It's too much. I'm not American. I can't date. Restaurant on a barge? I might as well ask her to marry me. The pub. That's the English way.
kick ass video
What is that song he ends every episode with? 🤔
It’s a clip from the first episode in the series on Porgy’s.
@drpedics
Many thanks 😀😎👍🏻
I've never seen this movie, abd now I don't need to.😂
🕺
WTF are they eating? No wonder thier slapping each other
Revenge of the nerds
Zapped
Or who framed Roger rabbit
Do some kids movies that should not be rated PG
..with just the power of Christ! rofl
Some suggestions for movies to cover that have also aged poorly:
-Superbad (premise is about rape when you think about it for 2 seconds)
-I now pronounce you chuck and Larry (obvious homophobia masked as being okay because Adam Sandler gives a speech at the end saying gay is okay)
-idiocracy (literally promotes eugenics)
-American Beauty (Kevin spacey having sexual fantasies about a highschooler)
It would be interesting to see y’all cover more modern movies from the 90s-00s like that because they’re just decent enough that you don’t automatically assume you’re going to see something absolutely fucked like you naturally do with movies from the 80s and prior.
Wtf
Wow, America's youth loves labels more than anything.
Dn
"Woke masterpiece." So I really will finish my life without ever seeing Saturday Night Fever.
For real. I almost didn't care what was said from the jump.
This was before being woke meant what it means today.
@@filmfun7670 pipe down nerds
@@Teamo86 I'm pretty sure narcissists with skeletons in their closets were around in the 1970's.
they cut a scene of them beating up a black guy for dancing with a white woman. how woke can it be?
Disco sucks.
