Team Exter or Team Punch?
Exter 👌
Punch forever
See I have punch for past 1.5 yrs now, never gave an issue , a great family car. But if the competition has something more to offer , why not go for it. There is no punch vs exter here. It's just what's more suitable and practical for you. The competition forces manufacturers to bring more features, better after sales service and so on
Exter any time.
Exter
It's not about SUV , Indian public need good ground clearance because of our road conditions and convince to run in rural areas
Exactly... The whole SUV "trend" is only go get good ground clearance and it's a very valid point, especially in India.
Feel chahiye SUV jaisa bas 😂

Not everyone wants a scarpio or a Phortuner.

Punch is my first car. Yes, there is some lag with the engine, but not bad. I drove 2200 km covering Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra, Telangana, all kinds of roads. As a new driver without any discomfort I was able to do long drives, particularly Highway experience was really good. Brother companies are offering what the consumers are demanding. In India, everyone wants an SUV. If you look over the years the demand for hatchbacks and sedans has gone down considerably across all price points. Hence companies have no choice but to bring out products according to the consumer sentiments. This is what helps them sustain in the market else they will be obsolete. And obviously below a certain pricing you won’t get the real deal.
Overall Exter appeals more. But our area Hyundai's Dealer has awful records of 'after sales service' thats why many, despite liking Exter much, would turn away and opt for Punch.

Hello Vikas sir, great stuff as always. A suggestion to video editing team - since you are switching between the two cars very frequently, please insert a stamp or something on the screen which shows the car currently on display. Often Vikas sir's speech is not clear on which car he is talking about at the moment. This can be overcome by better presentation during video edits.
Both cars have there own positives and negatives. Punch comes with 5 star safety rating and sitting position is like mini SUV. Exter gives you premium interior with more features and refinement. Sitting position is not like SUV but little better than i10nios.
I took test drive of Exter recently and I doubt it will get 4 or 5 star max to max 3 star.
@himanshuawmi took test deive of exeter. Their driver seat is not so comfortable, gives cervical neck pain.
Exter is unsafe car for highways didn't have crash test

Damn! This review seemed so non biased, great one. I'm new to the channel, this was the first video I've seen from your channel, loved that you were very honest and did not suck up one particular brand. Subscribing for more to come.
"The main reason people buy
SUV in India is of course Ground
clearance.
I myself drive a Tiago, which
is a hatchback.
But recently I got to drive
a Harrier which is a really good
SUV and also Maruti S-presso.
So two completely different segments
cars.
But one common thing I noticed is
very low road noise in both car cabins.
That is due to the big gap between
wheel and the wheel arches.
All hatchback and sedan owners know
how irritating road noise becomes
on long journeys due to the tire being in
very close proximity to the body of
the car.
The constant road noise
makes your brain tired.
Journey becomes less enjoyable because
of this.
I will upgrade to a SUV because of only
one reason and that is a less noisy cabin."
One more thing in terms of interior pocket space that you maybe missed is that Punch has additional slot in the front doors for umbrella with proper water drainage as well. I am thinking that's not present in Exter at all.
Should have used the 2023 BS6 phase 2 Punch for the comparison , you would've been surprised by the initial torque and refinement of the new punch.

Nice work.. I will wait for facelift/Next Generation of Punch to come. Let's see what they have to offer now. I expect Hill Assist, Paddle Shifter, Rear AC Vents, Driver Arm Rest, and a Small Turbo in some variants to make make it overcome the power issue and give Punch to TaTa Punch.. I have been using Hyundai Santro XL 2005 model, driven only 46,000 km till now. Now have to replace it as registration can be extended once only and that has been done..

It's been 14 months I have been driving punch and yes! it definately feels laggy in its initial pick up and doesn't feel smooth and punchy while driving in city specially during overtaking. U have to literally plan a lot before overtaking. Other cars will pass by your side while u will still be struggling to gain the pace. It is not for the driving enthusiasts. But! but! but! once u gain momentum!! Its super smooth like butter until unless u apply brakes and then again start gaining the pace. It is very stable, excellent suspension setup and comfortable for long journey
On Highway(Lucknow-Agra expressway) it gave me 24kmpl at 80km/h and 17 kmpl at 120km/h. In city it is giving 11-13 kmpl.
The more consistently u drive with light weight on accelerator the better mileage it will give. Once u start exploiting it.. it will start exploiting the petrol very harshly.
I have watched many videos of Punch and read many user's comments, I get the same conclusion as yours it gives significantly better mileage on highways but in the city, it provides only 10-14 km/l.
Are you using Phase 2 or the Phase 1 model?

Engine noise has drastically reduced after RDE compliant motors were used. The engines were refined. And one can hardly here the hum of engine in the cabin as the sound and vibration has reduced significantly.

A lot of people are saying that Exter could be Hyundai's first 5 Star rated car by the GNCAP. We can't be sure but even if Exter gets 4 stars, there won't be a single reason to buy the Punch.

Comparing a 24,000 KM driven BS6 Phase 1 Punch(when phase 2 is available) with brand new barely driven BS6 Phase 2 Exter shows the amount of thought you put into this video. Looks like you were in a lot of hurry to roll out this comparison video.
A little bit of proper research would have told you that Phase 2 Punch has significant amount of improvements in terms of drive-ability and vibrations.
I lost faith in the quality of your video at the point where you compared the paint quality/shine of the two cars. :D
How can you even think of comparing the paint and plastic quality/condition of a 24k KM driven car and a brand new car?

The conclusion of this video is very pertinent. These are not SUVs but hatchbacks with a better ground clearance. That is why I like Vikas because he doesn't shy away from calling a spade, a spade. 👍🏼
saabko pata hay. Be it exter or creta or harrier none of them are real SUVs
These "raised" hatchbacks fulfilled the dream of middle class buyers to own a "suv like car".
I took punch on rent for a trip from Pune to mahabhaleshwar, it was a decent car, I liked everything except the engine, I felt more vibrations on accelerator than my 1.3 mjd ciaz and it can't even be compared to my 1.2 Baleno. Engine was slow and I it was really scary when I was pushing it and taking corners in the hilly region (guess I am not used to driving SUVs at all, I am still a sedan guy), I also hated its speaker quality but everything else was decent, better interior quality than my ciaz.
Speaker quality of punch is far far better than ciaz...absolutely no compare. I have both ciaz mjd and punch
Higher ground clearance will lead to body roll, so punch can't be compared with sedans.
About grip, sedans are always way ahead, but punch gives you bad road access without fear.
You're huffing copium if you think any other company provides a better music system than tata in this segment
That proves that you have no any of those car. The Harman speaker system is way better
