    Here’s another mixing technique.
    FIRST mix up your dyes.
SECOND add one component of the epoxy, and thoroughly mix it with the dye.
LASTLY add the second epoxy component, and mix thoroughly.
That way, your five minute clock time is fully available to be used for actual working time; it wasn’t spent as 2-4 minutes of preparation time.
Also, lay out some waxed paper on your bench.

You know what’s really cool? When you mix the epoxy with glow powder and fill those cracks. It’s really beautiful!

Thank you ! This is just what I needed. I have a bunch of juniper branches that I am making into canes, and when they dried they cracked. This is perfect!

Thanks for this. I have a cedar-wood cane that broke during an accident. I was searching for a way to repair it so that I can continue using it. This is an excellent idea- kintsugi for wood.

Very helpful. I have a few sticks I'm busy with and a few have cracks. Now I know how to fill with colored epoxy.

Thanks so much for this!! Was actually researching how to do this for a hiking stick. Would you recommend undercutting the crack to keep the inlay in the stick or an epoxy top coat to seal it?

Do you have any specific recommendations for the paint? Also, would you recommend staining it before or after the epoxy, if you so chose to stain it?

I’d say stain first, that esy your epoxy will keep it’s intended color
