In fact, it can create attachment disorder issues - where the brain skips certain critical connections and, if bad enough (like orphanages in Ukraine/Russia in the 90s), can even look like a stroke victim's brain. However, after the initial brain growth surge, as they become toddlers, then - YES - they need to learn patience by waiting, within reason of course.
