Uma Shankar Hindu or Christian is not a matter , but he is honest in his field.
How many of us have this honest in our life.
Before criticizing Umashankar (IAS)...i would urge the criticizers to go through his past achievements as an honest officer......How many of us know that .....Out of his 25+ years of service...he was allowed to work as a district collector only for the initial 5 years...
People liked him so much for his hardwork, honesty and sincerity.

Got awards, appreciation, even from dmk - Karunanidhi
Exposed sumangali cable vision corruption
Exposed 700 crore scam of a government company (ELCOT) which went missing from records...
So many are there....i'm just putting whatever i have heard of him.
Just like Sagayam (IAS), Umashankar had to face so many transfers in his career......Can you imagine an officer of his caliber getting transfer within 24 hours ?
Adding to his woe, he got depromoted as DRO, a low ranking profile and made to work under other junior IAS officers.
His Honesty earned him only transfers, depromotions and suspention. Mr. Pandey and other media people asking so many cross questions....let me be a sole supported of Mr. Umashankar IAS...let me ask a simple question
As per his experience and expertise, by now he should be serving as "principle secretary" for a key department at the central level. Sadly he is not....he was victimized by both the governments (DMK/ADMK)? There are many officers even at the central level with fake certificates, managed to reach higher positions by adjusting to politicians and favoring them.
He exposed so much of corruption under both DMK & ADMK government and sadly, that has earned him only suspensions..
There are so many IAS officers across country who practice pooja during office hours...does this not violate code of conduct?
Single man ...he is fighting for his integrity still...just that media gives him a wrong image as IAS Evangalist will never dent his morals and integrity.

ஆனா IAS அதிகாரி பேசிறது சரியானதுதான் interviewer is twisting what that officer says, However there are some ethical/moral issues in that ground tribunal/Legal bench can check on that whether he breaks any code of conduct. But as per my knowledge it is not a violation of Law directly.
Rieshananth Thambiaiyah I'm not bothered about law and rules stuffs. even if the king of the whole world does such blind religious propagation, I would advice him to get treated for his mental conditions. it applies to anybody and any religion, no matter what his post is or what rules he is not violating.
I dont know what is your job, but not IAS. You people haunt him due to his social background. Do you think the Govt. will just sit and watch his actions if it is against service rules or constitution?, even if he speaks against other religions?. He could be out of IAS after a night's sleep.

This guy re-converted to Hindu to get into IAS in SC/ST quota. After becoming IAS, he converted back to Christianity. He is not the only one to do this. Christians in india do this all the time. One of my Christian friends with Christian name (Ebenezer), re-converted to Hinduism to get medical college seat under SC/ST quota in the name of pugazhendhi (a common schedule caste name). So Ebenezer became Pugazhendhi. In Times of India, we have an article dated 27/2/2015 regarding a similar incident about Christian re-converting for getting a job as SC/ST. This is how minorities exploit the system. Thanks to the British stooge BR. Ambedkar.

Everyone has rights to preach his/her religion. No one can stop it according to the constitution of India. Fake ideas filled with superstitious beliefs can't be preached by all.
It is clear that this IAS has extreme patience to handle such ugly questions thrown upon him . The thandhi guy could have asked better questions and could have discussed problems that are widely prevailing in tamilnadu.. instead he simply focussing on hurting his personal belief and lifestyle.. +Mahendran Shanmugam Its not that I love some other God and you love some other God. All of us love the same God and know him differently based on our intelligence. Just because we are at two different places we do not see two suns. There is only one Sun. Similarly, there is only one Lord. There are not millions of Gods. There is only one God and he pervades everything . So we are all actually dependent on God every moment. People call him by different names. The name Krishna means that he is all-attractive. So the best name to God can be Krishna. But people address him with other names based on the time, place and circumstance. Some people call him Yahweh, Jehovah or Allah. Just like in Tamil, they address the sun, Suryan and in English, they address him as the Sun and in Samskrtam, they address him as Bhaskara. But at the end of the day, it is just one Sun. You are not getting some other light just because you are a Christian nor am I getting something else because I follow Sanatana Dharma. So, from wherever you are getting strength, I am getting that from the same God.
I have gone through both the New and the Old Testament . One point where I differ from you is no can redeem for the stupidity we have done. If someone is truly repentant, he is not afraid of the consequences that faces him and does not want to push that responsibility on to Jesus. That tendency to push on their sins to Jesus is what is causing Christians to sin more and more in the name of abortions, eating meat, slaughtering poor animals, enjoying their own gratification. We can stop sinning only when we feel repentant for it and take up responsibility . True repentance means taking resposnibility and willing to suffer it's consequences. When God sees such a sincere soul, he feels very happy and offers his mercy. Just like a person who has insulted many people , when he transforms, people whom he had insulted before will ridicule him more. The test of his transformation is his ability to tolerate provoking situations. You might believe in Lord Krishna as God but since you have not understood the Gita, which is the word of God and are not putting it into practice,, your belief in him as the God as no value.
And moreover, faith is not a rubberstamp you can change from Rama to Jesus to Allah when you like. That is sentiment. The true meaning of religion is from which we cannot be separated. That original nature is to love God. Loving God means loving everyone equally. Not just loving human beings while slaughtering animals nor loving the whites and hating the blacks nor loving a specific caste. It transcends all barriers and transcends space and time.Only such love can satisfy the self. That is the message of Lord Krishna in the Gita

Mr.Umashankar has clearly answered all the questions posed to him. He has done his official duty and he is doing the Lord's work among his own people--Christians. The Constitution categorically upholds his position in Article 19 & Article 25. There is no doubt about it.
