I think if we are targeting a CB actively then it means the club is not sure that Fofana will be back (at a high level) for next season. Most players that get an ACL really need about 2 years before they get back to that peak form and level for top teams. I do agree with your point that we have to sell some CB(Chalobah, Maatseen etc) before buying another one in my opinion. I really do hope that in the summer we can get a Gusto esque lb to compete with Chilwell cause Cucurella Is just not it for where we are trying to go
Todibo is a very good right footed ball playing centre back. An ideal replacement for Thiago silva when he leaves and can pair well with Colwill and Badiashile.
Conor Gallagher needs to stay 100%. If anyone that has to leave it's Ian Maatsen.
Honestly from what I've seen in a few games Alfie Gilchrist can be our next CB he is Aggressive quick puts in a good tackle Would like to see more of him before we make financially stupid decisions. Agree we are stacked at CB unless we sell we shouldn't be buying more CB unless for the multi club project.
Lol this Todibo kid is miles better, plus Gilchrist won’t get any game time ahead of the current CBs we have. He’s playing his role as a kid coming in in the last 10 min of games bc we literally have no one else to do so…relax 🙄🥴
Be realistic, gilchrist isn’t no where near the level he need to be at right now. He’s also quite small and weak for a cb. He has no future at Chelsea unfortunately. He’s a passion merchant

@@Jack-lssitt Carvalho was small and weak? Terry Carvalho partnership was one of the best Chelsea has ever had theres been many great cb that weren't massive physically but defensively astute. We literally have 6 cb when Chalobah and Silva goes it will be 4 unless we sell one of the cb there's no room the only room is developing of academy talent which would be under 21 which doesn't take up a slot on the 25 man squad for EPL. We've Also signed Fofana Badiashile and Disasi on long contracts if we sell we make losses only other option is to sell Colwill but the target is right footed wouldn't make sense? Also some dumb wits are like OH Silva & Chalobah are leaving so it opens up space. Unfortunately the under 21 players will not be 21 for long Palmer Madueke come to mind we will once again have a over inflated squad with unhappy players. Fans are like Just Buy Buy Buy Buy without thinking properly. Sales of players is needed for any incomings. Even Striker we are stacked but we need to sell if it's Broja for Osimhen that would be ideal.
I don't mind his signing if he's to replace Disasi. Center back is not a problem position for us. Getting a striker and a left back is more pressing.
Centre back along with striker is the main problem for Chelsea, not left back. We have Colwill and Maatsen who can play left back just fine until Chilwell recovers

Bring Cesare Casedei , Gabriel and Andre Santos back to Chelsea quick as possible. If they join in January that will be marvellous. Sale few other players that are already on sale radar but 100% keep Gallagher , if sale him we will be the worst and damn stupid club in the world .💙
Casadei is who I want us to add to this team, he is such a baller and makes the midfield tick with his defensive work rate, link up play, technique, dribbles and range of passes, he is a rolls royce midfielder, in my opinion.

Casedei & Gabriel are on season long loans, we're not able to bring them back in Jan. Santos more complicated, steve cooper obviously didn't fancy him so perhaps could've returned as forest would probably agree to end loan as they wouldn't want to continue paying his wages just to sit on the bench, though now they have NES as head coach he might prefer to use him.
@terrypietru8012 the issue with forest was they made 2 cdm signings on deadline day in the summer so they would rather bed in their own players and help then grow then one they have loaned I'm. Not Cooper fault who was a big admirer of Santos but the directors at the club

Todibo is definitely better than Disasi having a better defensive record with his team than Monaco and he is very good with long range passes plus has some outstanding ball control so pressing him might not work so the only better area Disasi has in him is the areal duels although Disasi hasn't shown much efficiency in that department in the Prem.

Of all the centre backs on our books, to me Humphries looks by far the class in the field. I believe he'll blow the Championship out of the water in the 2nd half of the season just like Reece James did a few years ago and Colwill did after that. I've seen him play quite a few times (live) with the academy. He's always the best player on the pitch. According to Franco Baresi, the best centre backs are the ones who don't grab your attention by diving in all over the place. That's Humphries! His passing is immaculate and can play all across the back 3, 4 or 5 .
I loved this take and I agree we have too many Centre Backs as it stands and my issue with our transfer targets is they all seem like players who are not proven at all. I saw Victor and yes he can be perfect but he shines in that Napoli system am not sure at Chelsea. Not expecting much this window when it comes to Chelsea. Loved the content as always!

Chelsea was weak and toothless in the manner they handled Santos’ loan. This is what makes us look like a club that destroys young talents. You sign a player who was consistently playing and doing well somewhere only to send him to a place he was made to sit on the bench?
If Fofana can come back fit enough i don't see reason why the Club should be signing another cb, even if Silva leaves at the end of the season.
Fofana has had two serious knee injuries back to back. Leicester got us on this damage good. He's never going to be aggressive defending and will be too conscious and shy away from defending hard once he comes back from injury. He needs to be offloaded, hopefully Chelsea can find a puppet club that can fall for the trap.

I think in the points you make about how many center backs we already have, and even more the damaging policy of buying young prodigies and then not being able to offer them game time, viz, Santos, you're spot on. It really isn't fair to these young players.

Take that 60 mil and go get Palhinha, we need a DM and then the CB will have less pressure, caicedo/enzo don't have to sit back. Yes we have Lavia but he hasn't really played and is so young. Bring a tested veteran to shield the backline and Lavia can learn off of him.

He is great in the air and scoring in the box but he has minimal involvement in play and likes being on the last line a lot to use his pace in behind. He is the opposite to Jackson, who has elevated Chelsea's play this season specifically due to his involvement in the play, so playing Osimhen over Jackson would need a complete change in style from the whole team.
I think Toney is much better fit for what Chelsea need because he is good at bringing others into the game as well as being strong in the air. He also won't be a guaranteed starter and block the pathway for Jackson in the future

Buying more players is not the solution. We only need a strong and proven goal scorer like Osinmhen. Our problem is that the players we bought have not lived up to expectation, especially Caicedo, Jackson, Cucumber, Modryk. I'm highly disappointed in caicedo. Ultimately, we need a proven goal scorer. Scoring can change the dynamics of a match. If we score more goals we will concede less as opponents will be scared of coming out because they're scared of our attackers. But right now no one is scared of our toothless attackers.
I think getting Todibo makes sense to me. Disasi hasn't been good enough at times and his lack of pace has been targeted a lot this season and let's be honest Wesley Fofana should never have been signed because he can't stay fit.
Surely Newcastle can’t loan santos because they already have Lewis hall on loan technically and it’s capped at 1 loan per prem team
