Unfortunately due to prednisone use for lupus, which was generally long term, it probably affected his ability to sleep well. When I take that stuff, I can go a week without sleeping and not even feel tired, but I'm emotionally broken by it and my vision gets wobbly. I go crazy. For him I think it helped give extra energy on some tours, but it also tears up your vocal cords, just as lupus alone, and overtouring will do. He got triple whammied.
