I was part of a crew of AT&T telephone installers in the early '80s, working on a certain multi-millionaire's $8 million home upgrade in Studio City, when her then 'boyfriend' Erik Estrada came a calling. (I won't name the woman in this story.) I was under/behind her bed, attaching phone wires along the baseboard, while she was in the bathroom, with the door closed, when Estrada came in, saw my legs sticking out from under the bed, and accused her of having some sort of sordid affair and hiding me under the bed! I guess he missed the six AT&T vans and multiple employees around the house, or he was just trying to prove to her how 'macho' he could be! Regardless, I wasn't intimidated, she dressed him down in front of a crew of phone guys, and he sheepishly admitted he may have been mistaken! Well, duh! So much for Mr. Macho! - I never met Lopez, so I can't comment about him.

Back in 1980 Eric was the grand Marshall for a Christmas parade in Downtown L.A. I remember working as an usher for a theater, and when he passed by all the girls went crazy. He was nice enough to shake my hand, and give me his autograph. To bad smart phones didn't exist back then.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Erik and is cool and wonderful guy, I even surprisingly got a hug from him. I even gave him a 9/11 pin that I was wearing. Wonderful human being. Love him.😎🖖
Erik is being honest with his history regarding George. Always thought that story George told about Erik was made up anyways, and it sounds like it was.
Erik Estrada didn't know spanish when he did Chip's he learned spanish when he started doing mexican novellas. Erik Estrada was huge when he was Ponch.
But if he said he's sorry , and gives you an olive branch , and you act like that , that's something I can't respect! I lost respect for George after this and the disrespect of the female fan at his show, and what he did to his ex wife not cool at all!
George Lopez talked about Erik Estrada on Countryish with Jon Reep. The beef is Erik was filming chips near George's house and he was driving with his friend and noticed him. Erik was in a phone booth making a call when he finished George said hello and tried shaking his hand. Erik said something like leave me alone and George has been pissed since then. George mentioned the fight Erik proposed and he threatened to sue.
3:55 I dont understand. Erik tried to make amends by telling George that he was sorry "IF" he didnt shake his hand. And it sounded like he was being really sincere. But for George to do that is not in good taste. They both could have settled it right there. Ihave respect for both men who are pioneers. Just hope George can see what he did.. *God Bless*
Omg, I have loved Eric Estrada since I was very young, I still watch Chips and I just saw him on According To Jim just the other day, I have seen that episode of According to Jim many times. Every time I watch it and CHIPS I get butterflies and I get so excited, I think I would faint and die if I saw Eric Estrada or probably cry like I'm doing now. Lol. I have always wanted to meet Eric Estrada.
As a multi generation kid growing up in the San Fernando Valley in the 80s Erik Estrada was my hero. He was the first Latino American man that was the good guy and the cool guy he got the chicks. He was the hero of that show, and not just some vigilante for the first time on American television the law was on the side of the brown man. It made me feel more accepted as just a plain American. I have to give it up to the producers of that show to cast a brown Latino man as the lead role in a major t.v. show. And yes I know its all Hollywood but it gave Mexican Americans from LA a good guy hero figure to aspire to. (Yes I also know Erik Estrada is Puerto 🇵🇷 Rican) So myself as a kid from San Fernando I just wanted to say. Thank you Mr. Estarda for taking the role of Ponch and doing the best you could with it.
First time I saw George Lopez show was on TV on a commercial flight to MIAMI, the first thought on my mind was "who in the fuck is the guy" and the second was "why does he hate Erick Estrada so much. Now I now the 2 sides of the story..
Me and my brother used to play Chips when we were young. My brother was always John and I was always Puncherella! Erik Estrada is and always was a dude!
Gotta love the algorithms that now I’m watching tho lol. The fact that Estrada was willing to apologize in case he was wrong and take it to the streets.
I used to watch CHIPS back inthe late 70's early Eighties and It was a well known fact that Erik Estrada did have a little bit of an ego. He faught with the other co-star Larry Wicox a lot on the show. They talked about it in magazines at the time and in television interviews. SO Its not unbelievable that Erik snubbed George Lopez at the height of his fame in the 70-80s. BUT I think I believe Erik When He tried to extend an olive branch to George. Perhaps George could have handled it better. Perhaps he could have talked to him aside and aired it out and how much it hurt. It seems Erik Tried. They Both are famous,(I think George Surpassed Erik now) and they both could have handled the situation better. I still like them both.
People gotta realized George and Erik came from a different time from one another when it came to their race. During the time when Erik was growing up, Latinos in the United States was treated like third class citizens and wasn't accepted in most places. George on the other hand, may had similar reactions but at the time while he was coming up. People started to embraced the Latin culture more and got treated better in the US. When Erik first got cast in CHIPS and started to make a name not only for himself but for the Latin community. It was a huge deal for him especially when he was just in his late 20's. So his ego may had got in a way but as he got older. He learned from his mistakes and became a better person. As for George, he came almost at the right time into show business in the late 80's. The Latin market in Hollywood was growing, so he capitalized that. Maybe instead of holding a grudge against Erik, he should thank him for opening the door for a lot of minorities for the opportunity to be in Hollywood.
Any entertainer of any genre can attest that their jobs or careers are not all rainbows and unicorns, happy times and 100% full of energy at all times. While I don't doubt George Lopez's heartbreaking story (for a 17 year old fan) when Erik Estrada didn't shake his hand, he has to understand, now as a successful actor and comedian, that there are times when the pressure of the job is so much, that even he won't be in the mood to greet or shake hands with fans. There are many things on the mind of the actor, and to be fair, George didn't approach Erik at the best time. It can happen with any celebrity, and with any fan. Plenty of similar stories with musicians and actors of all types. Just let it go, dude! They don't have to be friends, but at least stop talking shit about each other.
Erik Estrada is better. He actually wanted to be an American (nothing was more American than 'CHiPs'), rather than keep playing up the 'Hispanic' angle every 10 seconds. Good looking, good dancer, action hero who was a hit with the ladies. Erik Estrada is way better than George Lopez (who isn't even funny).

No, you Pussed out!!
Damn it's always important to hear both sides of a story.
We saw George Lopez at the Brea Atrium and after the show he was signing autographs and we tried to talk to him and he didn't say anything to us like thanks or I'm glad you enjoyed the show , after all that I knew he wasn't a nice guy ! We saw Eric Estrada in a mobile home park in fountain Valley driving his gold Rolls-Royce and he said hello to us , he was there actually visiting a friend , he always had the reputation of being a down to earth guy!, I still remember his personal license plate PAPO 4
Erik was ready to have a street version of the 🇵🇷vs🇲🇽 boxing rivalry 👊🏽 lol
Never heard of Eric before but he reminds me of my family and families friends.. I like him and his morals.. I wish the best for people that adhere to his message
How old are you?
I have always believed George all these years and after seeing this. I gotta say that I take Estrada side on this one... It just sounds more realistic.
Bro! Erik doesn't remember! When Erik was younger and a big star of course he could have been a dick! And shined off George. People change specially when they're not that famous anymore.
This takes me back to the east coast. My Puerto Rican friends switching between Spanish and English and I’m just sitting there like..... idk wtf y’all talmbout.
Lol
😂😂😂
Erik Estrada Speaking Spanglish !!! He didn't speak Spanish well ,so he had to go to school or learn better Spanish to do the Spanish Soap opera TV ,Novelas !!!! LOL.
Thats having a conversation in 2 languages
@@paulroberts1961I remember saying something like that to my cousin in law that Eric said and she called him a jerk, basically! Plus she’s Rican too.But I guess it’s not about that.
2015 to 2017. I was working in Jeffersonvill Indiana and people would call me George lopez after a bad hang over, whenI dress nice with style they call me Erick Estrada. I loved it… Downey California
I remember hearing all this negative stuff about Erik Estrada then I saw him many years ago on MTV celebrity house or something like that and he was the coolest one there. I'm talkin 15-20 years ago. I just never got that conceited vibe from him
Much respect to Eric Estrada
I met Erik Estrada... he was cool dude. He's a legit cop
I meet George and he did the same thing to a little boy at the San Fernando elementary school on a Christmas celebration he did . Thank little boy just wanted to say thank you to him with a hug 😢
I'm sure George's ex biggest regret is not keeping him hooked up to that machine so she can keep an eye on him. Lol
I’m here cause of tik tok George Lopez and Paul Rodriguez 😂😂😂
I bet Erik is laughing his ass off after the Barbosa situation 😂 he may have apologized but you know damn well he did it for the sake of whatever is left of his career.
Back in 1980 Eric was the grand Marshall for a Christmas parade in Downtown L.A. I remember working as an usher for a theater, and when he passed by all the girls went crazy. He was nice enough to shake my hand, and give me his autograph. To bad smart phones didn't exist back then.
That's like ages ago. How old are you? 70?
Uhm, you do know that’s just Erik’s side of the story right?
🤦🏻♂️
Of Coors . So ask George if you don’t believe freaking people ???
George said in an Interview that Celebrities should always be nice to their Fans because they don't know who those Fans will grow up to be. !!!
I like Eric. He’s cool.
Erik Estrada will always be the man for playing "Ponch" in CHIPS
George Lopez talked about Erik Estrada on Countryish with Jon Reep. The beef is Erik was filming chips near George's house and he was driving with his friend and noticed him. Erik was in a phone booth making a call when he finished George said hello and tried shaking his hand. Erik said something like leave me alone and George has been pissed since then. George mentioned the fight Erik proposed and he threatened to sue.
Que
Viva Erick Estrada much love God bless you siempre ..........from Tamaulipas Mexico
This makes alot more sense today. Lol after George's recent comments and behavior. Grew up watching eric in the 80s as a kid on the show chips.
Always heard George Lopez stories and first time I hear his side and I kind of believe him and makes sense.
That's real stuff from a real man good job Erik... 👍🏾💪🏾👊🏾🙏
Back in the 70's I had a poster of Erik Estrada on my wall - I was 12 years old. I still think he's hot!
Go, Eric, I agree that was a low blow what he did to his wife. That tells you what kind of loser he is.
*God Bless*
Yea Erik tried to make amends but George just didn't want to he wanted to keep the hated going.
Erik been spot on just like all other raza that worked with George before
They should make eric estrada shirt with give her back her kidney mane
La neta.
Lol. I have always wanted to meet Eric Estrada.
not meet... smash
If George Lopez isn't careful with his attitude, he will fade like Carlos Mencia.
well said, i love Erik Strada, hes spitting nothing but facts
Dang Erik asked George to run his fade and George turned it down!!🤣 here because of the Barbosa beef
(Yes I also know Erik Estrada is Puerto 🇵🇷 Rican)
So myself as a kid from San Fernando I just wanted to say. Thank you Mr. Estarda for taking the role of Ponch and doing the best you could with it.
Eric Estrada wow he sure does sound pretty but hurt XD.
Karma doesn’t exist but he did fail his wife and daughter.
First time I saw George Lopez show was on TV on a commercial flight to MIAMI, the first thought on my mind was "who in the fuck is the guy" and the second was "why does he hate Erick Estrada so much. Now I now the 2 sides of the story..
Lopez made Estrada look real bad. Then many stories come out about George Lopez treating fans the same damn way. Wtf
Ralph Barbosa brought me here 😂
Let’s all remember this time in comedy
I thought George Lopez was moving to Canada? He's still here?
I always loved and respected
Erik Estrada !!!
Dam I just heard eriks side of the story and I’m not surprised George didn’t wanna just squash the beef when he was face to face with erik
Looks like Lopez chicken out!
Wow, life before our eyes. Erik called it. George got hit with the karma. He's at the bottom of the Hispanic community now.
Daaammmnnn. Yeah, I changed my mind on George a while back. Use to love him as a comedian.
Dam it Eric Estrada is and will be my idol and speaks from the heart much love and respect to him
I believe Erik Estreda. CHIPS was one of my favorite shows as a kid...
Straight up Erick!
We love man, F$ GL!
🙄🙄🙄
Erick Estrada come clean and give us the recipe to stay young 😂
I met Erik Estrada at frys electronics... he conversed with all the frys employees. He had his police officers badge. He was cool. I still love George Lopez.
I am fan of George López but listen i know Eric since the early 80’s and his mother they are amazing people sorry GL go cry somewhere else
