Please excuse my inability to write in Spanish - I am Canadian. I have followed the Empress on every stage of this amazing trip. I do not understand the Spanish narrative with this video and for that I apologize. I was, however, completely fascinated with the Mexican people and the carnival atmosphere. If the Empress has brought joy to so many people, as it has to me, then her long trip has been worthwhile and a success. Thank you Mexico!

Hello friend, it doesn't matter that I don't write in Spanish, here we see how we communicate, really in Mexico the expectations with the Empress are great and in each town there has been a whole party and seeing a steam locomotive in these times will be almost impossible to see it again, unfortunately in Hidalgo, precisely where I recorded the video, there was an accident in which a 28-year-old woman lost her life due to the imprudence of wanting to take a selfie while the train was passing and she was hit in the head, dying instantly, they are acts that people do not evaluate due to ignorance of machines, otherwise thank you for watching the video and commenting, I invite you to subscribe to my channel where I share communities in Mexico such as magical, rural towns and everything that invites you to visit our country , I send you an affectionate greeting from Hidalgo Mexico.

@@PuebleandoConAlberto I am truly sorry for the loss of this young woman’s life. Especially at a time that was giving her great happiness and memories. There is so little to say to comfort family and friends in these terrible situations. I will most definitely follow your channel and look forward to seeing more of Mexico and her people. It is most gratifying to see such wonderful acceptance by Mexico of this beautiful steam engine we are so proud of. 🇨🇦🇲🇽

Hello George. I've been following Alberto for a long time and appreciate his videos. He focuses on life in the small towns of Mexico, especially in the state of Hidalgo where he lives. Like you, my Spanish leaves a lot to be desired. Alberto has no problem reading my English. If you haven't yet discovered them it is possible to get English subtitles. Click on settings (the cog wheel), then subtitles (auto generated), then auto-translate, then English. Sometimes an extra step is required, sometimes not. You will figure it out. The translation is helpful about 75% of the time. The remaining 25% either isn't translated or is confusing or ridiculous, but it is nevertheless helpful. Welcome to Puebleando Con Alberto. If you are interested I often leave a comment re Alberto's videos, comparing the Mexico of today with the Mexico I knew 42-57 years ago. Much has changed.

Sorry about that tragic accident. That’s very sad to hear. Especially when it’s supposed to be a day of happiness. Hopefully everyone will be safe and enjoy that beautiful train. She is amazing locomotive. So are those two classic diesels. And also the coaches. That train set is much loved up here in Canada. CP Rail takes very good care of that train, even after all those miles lately it still looks clean.
Best wishes from Ottawa Ontario Canada.

Yes, the train looks impeccable, very clean and very well maintained, it even seems new. Regarding the accident, unfortunately it was a great carelessness on the part of the girl, in addition to the fact that she lost her distance when she turned around to take the selfie. Rest in peace, such a beautiful girl. Greetings and thank you for commenting, I invite you to subscribe to the channel, see you soon.

Hola Alberto. This was a fun watch. The enthusiasm of the Mexican public to watch a classic train make its last trip should put some wind behind AMLO's sails as he tries to expand Mexico's passenger train system. I really enjoyed traveling by train between Mexicali and Guadalajara, but that was more than 40 years ago. The second class train from Mexicali had cars in use when Poncho Villa was fighting Don Porfirio. I was born in Redlands, California (east of LA and north of San Diego) and lived there from 1946 to 1951. An old steam locomotive came by our house every afternoon, and I would always run out to the porch to wave to the train crew. They always waved back. Todays trains often have just one, or maybe two types of cars. Old trains often had six or more types of cars (potentially at least a dozen) and looked more interesting, but I guess the trains of today are more efficient.
Recently Mexico News Daily had a story about the similarities between Japan and Mexico. Standing patiently in line was not one of them. What chaos. Fortunately a freight train did not arrive while the people were swarming the old train. You were wise not to stay in the crowd. Mexicans are not patient when it comes to queuing for a bus or a bank teller, or at least not when I was in Mexico 42-57 years ago.
The old train has been beautifully restored and looks new. I think you mentioned it was a 4-6-4 locomotive. For anyone who doesn't know what that means, the first number refers to the number of small front wheels that help to guide the train and keep it on the track. The second number refers to the drive wheels, and the last number refers to the smaller rear wheels which help guide the train when in reverse. Sometimes the first or last number is a 2, and the middle number might be 8. I think other numbers might be possible, but not very often.
I'm glad you got to see this old train and envy you a bit. A couple of years ago my nephew in Utah had a chance to see the largest locomotive ever built in the US, used to haul heavy loads over the Rocky Mountains. It is a monster, dwarfing other trains. Anyway, thanks for the nostalgic trip. Hola to Adriana. Stay well.

Good afternoon William; It was truly a great experience to see this type of steam engine. In my work at the cement plants, I was in charge of maintaining Cemex's own locomotives, but they are with electric traction, direct current motors, and I came to love those machines. so robust and powerful but never a steam one. People were very disobedient, there was even a 28-year-old girl who died while trying to take a selfie with her back to the train, she was unfortunately hit and denounced. But people don't understand, that's why I better left the crowd and preferred to finish watching it from a distance. I imagine the great memories you have from your childhood when you say that the locomotive passed near your house. Apparently AMLO wants to resume the trains that even reach Canada from the Mayan train, I hope it is achieved, we send you greetings friend, a hug.

Y bueno, ahí tuvieron lamentablemente un claro ejemplo que está de más volver a mencionar.
Y no, este tren no es “la prueba” de que regresarán los trenes de pasajeros, como muchos medios pregonan!
